Cuts very well

I was hesitant on the price but I needed to replace my old Fiskars paper cutter that was getting more broken and less accurate. I'm very happy with the size and sturdiness of it. It's definitely an improvement of what I had as far as materials. Much less plastic. I was thrilled that the arm was plastic but it's much sturdier than the Fiskars. Much less flex. The measurement grid was odd at first but I got used to it. I only wish it had preset markings for standard paper/photo sizes on the grid but I may add them myself cuts very thin rice sumi paper without issue or tearing

Dont waste your money on the others

I was trying to go cheap on a paper cutter and bought 2 different off brand ones and had to return each. My office was getting frustrated with me - Finally saw the light and bought this one. X-ACTO has a brand name that means something and was worth the money. This thing is the Samurai swords of paper cutters. Makes me think of Kevin Costner throwing holding it while Whitney Houston throws her scarf and it slices it half. It seems that sharp. I didn't buy it to be lightweight so that was not graded. I wanted heavy duty. This is razor sharp and accurate. Sorry I wasted my time with those other brands. My office couldnt be happier.

Love Me a Good Paper Cutter

I bought a the larger paper cutter - some of the cardstock for scrapbooking is large and I am not good cutting straight with the scissors. Would highly recommend it. But do not trim your nails with this thing...

Good cutting tool for basic to intermediate.

Love the 'old school's and sturdy feel to this piece, the measuring lines were beginning to run off after a short period of use... blade sharp and locking mechanism reliable. Product heavier than I thought.

Very Happy

My old cutter was thrown away... so I looked and looked for a new one like the one I had before, but no such luck. I settled and got this one. WELL, now that I have it, I don't feel like I settled at all. I love it! It is really nice. I can cut 6 pages with no issue. The whole thing is light weight, so it was no issue for me to take it into work with all my other bags and coffee I carry each morning. If it breaks in the next two years, I wouldn't buy it again. However, if the third year comes around and it breaks, I think I would get this same one again. Hope this review helps you decide. There are 5 of us who use it, and we cut a lot of paper. :)

Great product

I bought this to use at the office at work and it’s so much better than the precious paper trimmers we’ve had. I still have to make sure I hold down stacks of paper right so they don’t move while cutting, but again, SO MUCH BETTER than I’ve used before. I’m able to get large projects cut faster.

Very poor build quality

How anyone can call this 'Heavy Duty' doesn't make sense to me. The only high mark I can give this unit is blade sharpness. The blade is extremely sharp. The Cons: Guide was not square to table, and the guide was installed so poorly that the paper did not butt up against it, but rather got stuck underneath the guide. The entire cutter was so lightweight that just lifting the blade caused the entire cutter to move. When will manufacturers get it: LIGHTWEIGHT IS NOT A GOOD THING FOR A PAPER CUTTER. This makes me want for the old school, very heavy library paper cutters. Overall just a complete disappointment, and totally unusable for anyone cutting on a regular basis. For a $90 paper cutter, I expect better.

I had bought a paper cutter from uline that fell apart within months, it was making really poor quality cuts that looked like the paper was torn. This doesn’t even compare, it’s solid, high quality and I can cut much more paper at a time with half the effort.

Far to flimsy to cut anything cardboard

This cutter is not built well at all. The frame that requires strength is press board and will break with heavy use. Used it twice and the frame broke in two. It is only 4 days over the warranty period and don't know if they will cover the damages.
