Design is not efficient; I prefer a twist grinder
Kamenstein Easy Grip Half Fill Pepper Grinder, 8-Inch, Gray I picked this pepper grinder out because I needed a pepper grinder and thought the “easy grip” design would be efficient. Unfortunately, while the product isn’t awful, I just don’t like the design and how it’s used. What I liked: - Came with some pepper already in it - Soft design, not uncomfortable on the hands What I didn’t: - The “easy grip” design, where you push the two handles together to grind. I thought this would be efficient, but it ended up uncomfortable. You have to use a fair amount of force and it causes the grinder to move around when grinding – even when I used two hands, one to stead the grinder, one to push the handles together, it would still move. And I just kept thinking – if I have to use two hands, why not just get a twist grinder? It takes up less space in my cabinet and is easier to hold steady! - The grinder is mainly made of plastic, not sure how long it’ll last Overall, I don’t think I was all that impressed. It grinds, sure, but I don’t think it really exceeds or improves upon the classic twist grinder design and may even be a little worse. It works and isn’t bad, so I’d rate it average.

Broke in less than a year
Lots of plastic, coarseness adjustment is difficult/klugey. So is operation (doesn’t feel natural). Clear plastic at bottom broke in 10 months of use. I’m going for the high-capacity battery-op this time.

Cute, hard to use one-handed (for me.).
Really hard to open but I finally did.

Can't open still.
I have read how to open it and still can't. It seems a lot of people have this problem. Not one handed. You have to use your second hand to support the grinder because it is not smooth at all. It just doesn't grind well either. When you squeeze the bunny ears they do not open back up easily. It never goes where you want it and it takes forever to get any amount of pepper out.

Uniquely designed pepper grinder
The design of this pepper grinder is unique. The two grips are close enough to be squeezed together with one hand. The pepper grinder loads from the top and has five different settings. I am a fan of the ability to choose the grind that you want. The grips are a grey plastic that is not rigid. The grinder would also need to be hand washed .

Not too excited about this...
So, there were two things that I really didn't like about this: 1) The bottom part occasionally separates from the top if it isn't tightened perfectly shut. I dropped the bottom half filled with spices a few inches because of this, (luckily catching most of it) and I thought the design here was subpar. 2) When you squeeze the handle the grinder moves around a lot, which prevents you from putting the spice exactly where you want it. I didn't find this to be very helpful, and thought it wasn't as good as my circular pepper grinder... BUT... ... on the flip side, it gives you some pepper to start (already inserted) AND, more importantly, it allows you to the the product one handed, and with ease. I would consider this, for example, for an elderly parent -as long as I topped up the grinder first and tightened it perfectly- and I could see this being beloved by someone who didn't have a lot of hand strength or who had arthritis in their hands.

Too easy to separate
It’s easy to open to fill but several times just in using it causes the top and bottom to separate. I was careful and caught it in time during a couple of uses. However I just lost a great deal of expensive pink salt because it separated again. Expensive loss and will be more expensive because I’m throwing it out.

Much easier to use than other pepper grinders
Easiest pepper shaker I've ever used. My disabled son is able to squeeze the ears to get the pepper, and I like using it much better than other pepper grinders I've tried. You just squeeze. Recommend.
