Best value there is.

I bought mine December of 2015. It finally gave up last week. 5-27-2023. I had no idea I had it that long. It gets used multiple times every day. I put fresh black pepper on everything. Before I got mine I went through several battery powered and mechanical grinders that all died within months. This is all the proof I need. I just bought 2 more today. I only hope whomever manufactures this item hasn't dropped their quality for corporate greed like every darn company. Get it. It is a robust grinder.

GREAT UNIT, REASONIBLE PRICE!

This grinder is just what we needed to grind both Pepper & Salt. It has a nice protective cap to avoid contacting the grinder with a work surface. Just be aware of the clear tray (only two small pegs on either side to hold it in place-see red arrows in pic), so you don't pop it out of place while grinding or replacing the bottom cap. I have learned to hold the grinder on the white areas, to prevent the tray from popping out of place; however, it is easy to slip your fingers on to the clear tray and pop it out of place. ( See two red arrow ) There are two small pegs on the side that can pop the tray out of place and dump out all the peppercorns or salt crystals. For me, it is fine; however, you may find a traditional-style grinder more fitting to your needs.

Function Over Feel

Function is what matter most and this pepper grinder works very well and as advertised in that regard. I wanted a pepper grinder that would deliver more volume for a reasonable price. This delivers on both of those. I took off a star for feel. Subjective and maybe that maybe shouldn't matter but, to me, it does. Feels plasticky and cheap. Not that solid tool feel you get from nicer pepper grinders. As a tool it brings none of that mechanical tactile goodness you get in expensive grinders. Might not matter to you. Doesn't matter enough to me to spend a whole lot more right now though I might in the future. Just something to be aware of.

very nice pepper grinder

I've gone through a lot of pepper grinders. This one seems to be of more sturdy design and has good adjustment for fine to course grinding. The only drawback is it can be a little hard to fill plus the reservoir is a little small. But it does grind pepper very well!

Easy to grind

If you grind a lot of pepper or have joint issues - this is so much handier to use vs regular bulb-top grinder. I keep it for the kitchen vs table use.

Love this pepper grinder

Had to buy a new one after the wife melted the first one on our stove, still worked but didn't look the best. We had the first one for a number of years so I expect this one to last barring any mishaps. I like that once you get cranking on this you can grind up a lot of pepper for your dish, the old wrist twist style mills would take a while to grind enough pepper and would usually be too coarse. Unless you are looking for a hand and wrist workout with a mill this OXO is the way to go.

Works Great

Works great, deliveries a good amount of freshly cracked pepper. My only negative thing is it only lasts 2 to 3 years but I keep buying them.

Finally a well designed pepper mill

I've tried a few, including a rather disappointing one-handed mill. This is the first that gives the impression that someone actually spent some thought about how to design a better pepper mill. It's easy to fill, easy to use, and grinds plenty of pepper with little effort. The bottom lid keeps pepper from sprinkling wherever you put it to rest. The case is very sturdy and the grinder is adjustable and works very well (no jamming or jarring).

Disappointingly average

Not the quality expected of Oxo Grips. This is relatively light weight plastic and not robust or a pleasure to use or have on display...unlike the other Oxo Grip dispensers we have. Works OK.

Use it to grind up spices - easy to fill and grind

I use it to more finely grind up spices and the pop out door makes it super easy to load. The large knob makes it easy and comfortable to operate, even for extended periods. I was grinding one container of spices for about 30 minutes and it made it tolerable all in one go! The adjustment works pretty well and i think would do a fine job for the usual salt rocks/peppercorns. It's not the highest quality device - much of it is plastic with a ceramic grinder, but what do you expect for that price! If you want something to pass down to your kids, go spend $150 on different one!
