We Call This Weed Eater "The Beast"!
Ok, so, the rest of the thoughts are of my wife using this weed eater. The review is from a woman using it when her husband is busy with other things: So what we have to use out door extension cords to power it. Plus, it has a feature built into it that helps keep the power cord out of the way or from pulling out. We have no worries of gasoline or oil mixtures possibly igniting or causing a toxic issue, or having to go refill it up again and again and again. We don't have to worry about if the battery will charge again, or if it finally died after 3 years of charging. So what if there is no power, we have hand saws and manual clippers if we need to use them as back-up, but this weed eating beast spoils you. So, while we do have power to make this contraption run, we will continue to spoil ourselves and enjoy weed eater luxury. This durable weed eating beast is the best weed eater and edger I've ever used. It's robust, too. We have wielded it over our heads ahead of us, not directly over our heads, to create pathways through grown together tall brush. Piece of cake and in seconds. We taught our older kids how to use it safely, with safety goggles, long pants, proper shoes, and attention to the outdoor power cord common sense. This is a bit heavier than cheaper ones but it's also not going to break apart easily. Quality parts. I am 5'8" tall, about 126 lbs and I can use this with no problems for level ground work but when I use it to trim my hedges, yes, to trim my hedges, it does get heavy on me after about 8 seconds. I then have to set it down, rest my arms a few seconds and then go back at it. These are hedges that come up to my waste or higher but this did the job just fine. A bigger, taller, stronger person will probably have no issues with that kind of stuff. You can easily adjust the height of the weed eater, making it longer or shorter, which will also help to not feel so heavy or better fit to other people of different sizes. It "edges" super easy. I never did edging before. It was easy enough for me to figure out after watching a video on how some guy did his edge work, me having a different weed eating contraption. His "edger" was a polite looking little thing. I didn't need my husband to show me how to "edge" with it. I also didn't need to wait for him to find the time in his busy day to have to baby sit me doing that, so, with a quickly found video of it, I went out and did my own edging. Our weed eating-edger combo was "the beast" and so easily did edge work. With the edging roller on it, there is no fuss or straining to keep "the beast" at a certain level above ground to make sure the edging looks uniformed. It was such a breeze. I read on other reviews prior to buying this one that this weed eater string went fast, that it gets eaten up fast, which can burn through money if you have to keep replacing the weed eater string. Well, the spool that was already on ours, it did massive amounts of weed eating, and not the sissy stuff, either, before it emptied out. We are talking about not just weed eating weeds around the edge of stairs or a garden or fixtures, what I am talking about is thick brush over 7 and 8 feet tall, grown together. This bad boy beast carved out a beautiful tunnel walkway where thick huge tree-like bushes had grown, and grown, and grown. We just waved this magic weed eating wand into the brush. Work like that will consume your weed eating line faster than the normal overgrown grass will, but, it was so worth it to deal with that back lonely and forgotten area. One could use a mini generator if they need to week eat a location with no power. When we bought this, there was an option to buy an addition box of something like 10 additional spools with an extra spool cap cover. We chose to buy that along with this weed eater. Zero regrets. In fact, I had no idea how junky our previous one was, one that we kept modifying to keep working as it continued getting mangled, broken, lost parts, and beat up through time. I got that thing for $5 at a garage sale and it already had seen it's better days but did an ok job for the next 5 years that we had adopted it before it bit the dust to go into that weed eater place in the sky. This is a well made, robust weed eater, edger combo. We actually found it as a used return and saved some money on it. Knowing what we know now, it is absolutely worth the price it sells for new. We see the current price is about $57. We have used this weed eater regularly since purchasing it back in April. It continues to impress and come through for us beyond traditional weed eating around objects. Please always wear safety goggles. Debris can fly all around. Don't figure you'll be careful. Please also wear long pants, covered shoes or boots, even rain boots but you'll have tiny things hitting you or wedging into your bare skin if you don't. This weed eating edger beast isn't messing around, especially for doing other work, like cutting through big huge 7 to 9 feet tall bushes and brush grown together, or trimming your hedges. Don't be that flip flop wearing person. I was one time and learned the hard way. Ouchie! Oh, if you need to check on your line or put in new line or get more line to poke through that hole because no line is coming out of the hole, well, we discovered that the weed eating line on the spool needs to be round in it tight and snug, not loose, or it can tend to have more weed eating line out than is needed. That is how we prevented the weed eating line being too long coming out of that hole thing, we made sure the weed eating line was wrapped onto the spool snugly, not loose.

Small but mighty
I was looking for something that was small but mighty. Small enough for me to handle and mighty enough to trim overgrown weeds: this weed trimmer is it! I'm not very knowledgeable in trimmer and trimmer parts so pardon my terminologies. The trimmer is a 1 string trimmer, it isn't like others with the two strings coming out of it. It's not a bump head, I've grown to dislike those, it has an easy feed button that's so convenient. Please note it will stop the trimmer to eject cord safely, then you can begin using it again. Also you can string the trimmer reel all at once instead of stopping to string it over and over again. It doesn't extend much. I think the pictures in the listing give an idea of how far it extends. I'm 5'7 for reference and sometimes I have to bend slightly to get close cuts. If you're a bit taller it may be a bit uncomfortable for you. It doesn't feel cheap at all. Assembly of the handle and guard was rather easy. For an idea of It's power, I had overgrown grass up to about the top of the first pane of siding in the picture all along the wall of the house and it took less than 30 seconds to clear that out. Also I had some weeds that grew to be like thick sticks along the fence and it took nothing for the trimmer to take them down. In terms of noise, it sounds like a small gas trimmer, it's not very quiet like other electric trimmers I've heard. I love the little thing. Anyone can use it! It's so easy to use. I cannot stress that enough. It's perfect for my medium sized lot.

Women should purchase because it’s lightweight
The 2023 rainstorms here in Los Angeles left my property with so many weeds. Am pretty sure my old weed eater died while trying to take down the weeds so I needed a new one. This one has proven to be worth every penny. It is lighter than my old one and more powerful go figure. As a woman, I can work out in my yard for a longer period of time and am not as sore later on. I still get sore because I am doing yard work :) Overall, I am very happy with my purchase so far…

Don't buy this trimmer. The "Easy Feed" button is a "do nothing" button for an additional $57
The description says that the Easy Feed button "allows you to Advance your line with the push of a button". Not really !! From the description I assumed that the button actually caused the string to advance. After this trimmer was delivered I discovered that all that the button does is turn the power off while the button pressed, and allows the AFS (auto feed system) to let out a bit more string. I.e. momentarily pressing the button does EXACTLY the same thing as momentarily releasing the run trigger. As a matter of fact releasing the trigger momentarily is easier and less awkward. So the button adds no additional feature but they charge an additional $57 for the "do nothing" button when compared to the identical trimmer without the button. When I discovered this I decided to return it and get the less expensive and basically identical model. I requested to return the trimmer twice and the message from the vendor said that they would advise within 48 hours how to return. They didn't !! Both times they simply cancelled the return request. I hate being ripped off but it looks like they have done that to me and I'm stuck with it. Don't make the same mistake. Buy the lower priced model or buy from someone else.
