Good tool

Getting a chamber-specific bore sighter (rather than purchasing a whole kit) has required a fair amount of research. I am unfamiliar with this particular brand, but the one I purchased seems to have done its job well and held up OK. I read many reviews and product descriptions prior to making this purchase, and it seems that several other options out there have battery issues or don't fit the chamber well. This particular model has a power switch on the rear, so the laser can be turned off when storing rather than having to remove the batteries every time. It was fairly easy to set up, just put the included batteries in the back and screw on the cap. Also included is a small key to turn the dial on the back to turn the laser on or off. It fit the chamber well and I was able to get my new scope sighted in on my .30-30 with relative ease. This is not a final sighting, however, as you still need to put some rounds on a known-distance range to be as we like to call "battle sighted," but this will get you on paper on a 100-yd target so you can fine tune your scope adjustments.

This worked very well. I used it to bore-sight my vintage Redfield scope on my Marlin 336., as well as a pistol scope on my TC contender (both in 30-30). I sighted indoors (using a long hallway) at 60 feet. I am sure the tolerances are tight, because I had to remove the "warning label" from the device before it would seat in the chamber. The batteries supplied worked fine, and have lasted through two bore-sighting sessions without any fading of intensity. The laser dot was sharp in an indoor environment (not tested outdoors). You have to make the effort to insert, then remove, the batteries with each session, since there is no "on-off" switch, but that is not an issue with me. Be aware, you will be using this to get a rough approximation of point-of-impact prior to doing a formal sighting-in of your scope. You still have to go to the range and "fine tune" the sighting-in process by shooting at a target, at your selected distance. However, using this first will SAVE AMMO!

Works as Advertised

Worked well to get rounds on the paper with not a lot of adjustments. Liked that it came with a storage bag, tool to turn on and off. Very happy with the product.

Does what it is supposed to

Used it to sight in the scope on my Marlin 336 30-30. Followed the directions, hit paper at 50 yards, two more shots and consistent bullseye. Move to 100 yards, hit paper, two more shots and bullseye. Did not have to use a lot of ammo to sight in, so it paid for itself with ammo prices the way they are today. Did not give it 5 stars because I think the laser dot could be more precise, but did its job for a good price.

Easy

Easy to use. Batteries were a little tough to install. Sighted in perfectly ~ easy. Can't wait to put it to good use!!

Perfect Shot Every Time!

Excellent Transaction and a very fine product. The SSI Sight-Rite Bullet Laser Bore Sighter was exactly what I needed to site in my scope prior to target practice so I would not have to waste my ammo. Sited in perfect now and I do not miss the game. PERFECT!
