Good stuff
Well built. I had a a big box spreader that needed parts. No parts available. This spreader has a complete parts sheet if I need anything in the future, Well worth the extra price.

Overpriced hunk of junk
I can’t stand this spreader. I wish I could get my money back but it’s way beyond that point. I kept wanting to like it, but it’s flaws outweigh its pros. Pros- large pneumatic tires. Sturdy hopper side deflector attachment is nice to keep from throwing material everywhere. That’s it. The wheels feel wobbly on the axle drive and it feels a lot like driving a car in a cartoon. It’s just loose in the shaft/gear box whatever you want to describe it as and doesn’t seem to spin in a fluid way. No matter how hard I try to keep this thing at the perfect angle as I push and have no tilt, it seems to have a mind of its own on where it broadcasts the fertilizer or seed. You can be walking completely flat and sometimes it throws more left or right. It’s hard to explain- it’s just very inconsistent The hopper isn’t funnel shaped, it’s more flat so you always end up with about 1/8th of your fertilizer/ seed where it will not come out. You have to either do a funky jig while you walk to get the product to go through the hole whilst moving it around inside the hopper, or you have to stop and shake all the material and lean the spreader to try to get it all around the hopper opening holes. I cannot stress enough how frustrating this is. Its also very easy to not fully open or close the hopper slots because it doesn’t really lock in either position. At first I liked the adjustable settings handle, but grew to hate it after several times of not spreading anything at all, or realizing it had slightly shaken to a different setting, or forgetting which way it is open or closed. You can read this and think “well I’m so smart I wouldn’t have that problem” yeah well, it’s not very intuitive and very easy to get mixed up on if it’s open or closed and either spill fertilizer all over the place, have it half open, or forget it’s closed, I promise! It’s very very large, whilst the hopper is actually small for the size. If you have a huge shed and don’t have any reservations on having a spot about the size of a lawn mower hanging on your wall or set on your floor, go for it. I thought I wanted something big and sturdy, and this thing just seems like it’s always in the way. (Could be a pro for some I guess) just really frustrates me how much space it takes up. The spreader setting handle that adjusts how much material comes out seems to not spread almost any product, especially if it isn’t tiny powder, I have to open the setting all the way to 15 in order to even notice anything coming out, and any higher, and the fertilizer or seed just pours out. On my old Scott’s spreaders of all different types and even drop spreaders each number and adjustment changes the product dispersal by a noticeable change. This thing you just kinda wing it. I also am constantly pulling the handle back to the open position I set because it works itself loose it seems like, and no I’ve tightened everything it is just a design flaw. I’ll be making a pass and notice nothing coming out, only to realize the setting handle worked itself down and I don’t know how much I need to back track! So irritating. I can’t stand this spreader save yourself the $200 Either spend more money and get a lesco or golf course type spreader, or just save you some cash and get a Scott’s. Do not buy this I’m telling you, it’s not worth it.

Flawed for road salt spreading
This spreader is a quality build and the gearbox is well protected from spreading materials. (Salts in spreading materials cause corrosion on metal gear parts leading to seize, I've experienced that on other spreaders). The major flaw with this model is that spreading material regularly gets trapped in the hopper due to inadequate agitation (I've used only snow melting salt purchased at hardware store). The agitator is little more than a tiny R-clip attached to a drive shaft that rotates when pushed. This is entirely inadequate. This might be enough for lawn products but I found that, even with the shut-off plate wide open, I had to frequently jerk the whole spreader just to keep the salt dropping down to the impeller. And no, this wasn't due to salt chunks in the hopper. Btw, the R-clip was missing when I received the product and took me a bit to figure this out. When I first used the spreader, barely anything came out. I called their customer service line (got a very pleasant person) but they were really unable to help me figure out the problem. From the beginning, it seemed odd that there was nothing in the hopper to agitate materials but perhaps it relied solely on gravity? I studied the parts list and diagram from their website a realized that the R-clip was missing. I was able to purchase one from Big Box Hardware and that certainly improved things, but I find that even dry, well screened road salt gets caught up in the hopper, especially as you come to the last 1/4 of material. I think I should be able to make a more efficient agitator in my home shop. I do really like this spreader with its large hopper capacity, protected, stainless steel gears, all around very well built. But unless a spreader can efficiently move the materials, It's of little use. This should be an easy manufacturing/engineering fix.

Great spreader. A litttle tricky to set the closed position
This is the most expensive spreader I ever purchased, Typically I'm paying half that amount for a lesser quality generic or Scott's product. Those have plastic wheels typically and are a little tough to push over my 10k yard. This has air filled tires and has a slightly higher center of gravity. Was much easier to push. This also has the deflector on the left. Pattern was a little heavy on the left but not terrible. The only downside was that it was tricky to adjust the rod that connects the lever to the hopper. I suggest putting a flashlight inside the hopper so you can see where the slots close. I think it works better if you do not push the hopper closed to the stops. Open it until you just see light through it and then close it a hair to prevent anything dropping through. Then push the lever at the top closed and move the top nut down until you see the hopper start to open. Back it off a hair and tighten the bottom nut. Setting of 10 gave me 2 lbs 12 oz of drop over 1000 square feet. This amount will vary based on where you set your lever position. Update. Reading the instructions better, the solution for the rod adjustment is as follows. Set the lever to max(30). Adjust rod so spreader is fully open and tighten. Then close and make sure you can’t see light through the holes.

Excellent Spreader
I started doing my own yard maintenance and after reviewing numerous spreaders and their prices I decided on this one. It’s been in service for 4 years and it is perfect.

All good except the agitator
Good spreader for the price, easy to assemble. The joystick nut was too loose and cannot keep the handle at the same setting. Need to be thighten a bit. The only thons that is very poor is the agitator. It is too high from the bottom of the bin. It do not move anything. I will build a new one longer and lower to properly move the fertilizer over the holes.

about 100 dollars cheaper at Home Depot.
More plastic components than I was expecting, hope it holds up.
