Very Sturdy

I get it about someone could possibly steal my eBike but this lock is all that it says it is so far. I wrap the covered chain as snug as I can with the lock facing downward and that's about all I can do. :) Thank you.

Its a good sturdy lock

of course after my bike was stolen from my home - not locked - cause it was at my home... anyway - new bike - better lock and i lock it EVRYWHERE. not likin the stay in key - when unlocked key can not be removed until you lock it then key comes out ... i have the key with others on a key chain and its a small hassle... but the lock is very sturdy and gives me peace of mind- also like that the chain cover is reflective for night riding and my security cameras can see it at night ...

Secure, short, heavy

As a thick chain, it's certainly a little more secure than a cable that's easier to cut. I also prefer key-only locks since the Master Locks are relatively crackable, and this is harder to pick. Unfortunately, it's only 3' long, which can make it a challenge to lock up the bike against certain areas, and definitely can't lock up both mine and my wife's bikes together (we always ride together, we didn't want to have 2 locks). It's also heavier than I was expecting, and my bike is heavy enough with the child carrier on it. I'm probably gonna have to get a cable lock. It's got the same reflective stuff as on a lot of other things (straps, leashes, etc.). I've include a photo with and without flash to show how reflective it is. In the background you'll see a child stroller with reflective straps for comparison.

A Very Strong and Heavy Lock

I just received this Schwinn lock and it is heavy and reflective, as seen in one of my pictures using the flash! It's great that it is but, it may be too much for my needs however, I do intend to keep it as a back up lock and purchase another type for everyday use. Pictures attached. I think this is great to use for anything you want to lock up. It's a Schwinn product, what more could you ask for?

Resistente. candado 1 - ladrones 0

Le doy 5 estrellas a este producto porque ya "sobrevivió" un ataque. Dejé anchada mi bici en un museo y tardé un par de horas en él, al salir el candado había sufrido un ataque, se observaba que trataron de usar ganzúa porque el taponcito rojo que cubre la entrada de la llave lo movieron de su lugar. Lograron romper la tela que cubre la cadena de un lado y descubrir los eslabones donde se observa que usaron algún tipo de alicate o sierra, pero solo lograron dañarlo. nunca me había sucedido y que bueno que realicé esta inversión, protegió mi bici que con esfuerzos acababa de comprar. maldi%&$# ladrones, ojalá estuviéramos en un mundo donde no requieras encadenar tu propiedad, pero como vivimos en éste, les recomiendo hacer la inversión en un buen candado como el Schwinn.

Excellent lock for money, but relatively short

If you're looking for a bicycle lock or a general use chain lock on a budget then this is it. While it's only $18 here on Amazon right now, it has by far the thickest chain in the price range. It may actually give pause to someone packing a compact set of bolt cutters. It also features a less common lock core/key design that's less likely to be picked by your average petty thief. And did I mention it's only $18 and not $50? The only thing worth noting is that the lock isn't very long so it you'll want to consider your application before you decide if you need to to with a longer chain but also, you could probably get two of these locks and connect them together for a lot less money than just a hardened 6ft chain. Heck, just 5 feet of regular non-hardened 8mm (5/16) chain costs $20 at my local store and doesn't include the lock either.

Muy útil

Vivo en una zona peligrosa y necesitaba una cadena que al menos les hiciera el robo difícil. Hasta ahora no me han robado la bicicleta. En general es una cadena que pesa bastante y lo mejor es que es fácil de poner y quitar. Lo malo es que es muy corta y a veces solo alcanzó a enganchar la llanta.

Buenísima calidad, aunque un poco pesado

No esperaba el peso de la cadena, pero supongo que es parte de la calidad. El terminado y calidad del producto son muy buenas. Tiene una cubierta para la entrada de la llave, que lo previene del polvo. La cadena es de buen tamaño. Tiene unos detalles en las letras que reflejan la luz, muy bueno para seguridad adicional.

Excellent lock!

Love this lock! Key mechanism is extremely smooth, the lock just pops open with the turn of the key, I like that there is a cover for the keyhole to prevent water from getting in if it rains, and the fact that it is reflective is a bonus. Chain locks are harder to cut than cable too. Great lock for the price!
