Not perfect, but the best griddle I've ever used
I had a few things I was looking for in a grill. - VERY nonstick - easy to clean - steady temperature - low sides - even heat distribution* (This is the problem) I was wary of the nonstick issue with this griddle. The textured surface concerned me. I bought it anyway, because of the questions and reviews. Other reviewers said it would be fine and they were right! ZERO sticking. I did eggs with no oil or butter this morning and they were perfect Low sides - I needed these griddles to make crepes. A LOT of crepes. After the batter is poured, I use an offset spatula to spread them out. I'd been having serious issues with this when using my stove and the first (bad) griddle I tried. Well, these handles are super low. I didn't even bump into one while cooking my super-sized test batch. "Easy to clean." This was a place where I thought I'd be forced to compromise. I'm happy to report that I was wrong. The handles pop right off. All you have to do is press two springs and away they go. Without the handles and the wire, it's nothing to take it to the sink for a quick wipe down. This is where the nonstick surface really shines. There's barely anything to wipe off. Steady temperature. This was the reason I was forced to try a new griddle in the first place. With my gas stove, I felt like I was spinning plates. I kept having to tweak each burner the entire time I was cooking. I needed to be able to set it and forget it. The only minor bump with this is that, toward the end, both of my griddles did start to overheat. It wasn't major and I just had to drop the temp by about five degrees. Back in business in less than 30 seconds. Heat distribution. This is where Presto lost a star. One griddle has near perfect even cooking all the way across. It really is remarkable. But the second griddle has a serious cold spot in the middle. I was able to work with it (it's still SO much better than what I was using), but it is annoying. I'd live with it, but the other griddle is so perfect that I do believe that this one is defective. I'm going to make one more test batch tomorrow to pay attention to that particular issue. If it's obvious enough, I'll return this one and get another. And yes, I *absolutely* will get another. These are the best griddles I've ever had in my LIFE and right now I'm a loyal fangirl. It normally takes me about 40-45 minutes to make a batch of crepes (that's with four burners going or two of the griddles I just gave away), but last night I made a double batch in 26 minutes, start to finish. Cleanup of the griddles took me ONE MINUTE If they last and continue to perform like they did, I'll be giving these away as presents.

Very even heating
So far, so good. I have used this griddle once after returning the Bella XL griddle due to uneven cooking of pancakes. (You can see my review on that product.) The attached picture shows the results of cooking pancakes on the Presto griddle which produced much more even cooking. If it works on pancakes I am sure it will work on everything else.

Look no further! Removable legs are a HUGE PLUS!
I own a small deli inside a commercial building park and bought this to replace a same sized ceramic griddle that I purchased at Target. Why did I buy another griddle? 1. ceramic becomes very difficult to clean if you use any sugared ingredients such as BARBEQUE sauce! I even tried professional griddle cleaner solutions and I still had a horrific brown ring (which was around the shape of the heating element underneath) 2. Cleaning ceramic was a youknowhwat! 3. Grease trap was too small and difficult to drain incurring cost of hot oil gloves which are professionally sized for The Hulk My "heavy duty" use: -I use this griddle at least 3 times a week. -I cook all my chicken breasts, bacon, seared meats, eggs, patty melts, etc with great success. What I love about this unit (after 15 uses): 1. The legs are easily removable! This means that I can detach the power supply, detach the legs on each side and run the whole unit (even coated in bacon fat) under our hot water tap for a few minutes and it's all clean. I have NOT HAD TO SCRUB this unit, yet!!!! While running my super hot tap water over the griddle unit, I clean both "legs" in our hot soap water bath. For someone who has to clean so much everyday in the deli, this minimal cleanup is a HUGE bonus! 2. Grease trap: While this grease/oil trap doesn't necessarily hold any more than any other brand, the front lip on it allows it to be safely removed without having to wear heat proof gloves to drain. THIS IS A HUGE THING! especially when cooking up to 40 pieces of bacon a day! With my previous $60 ceramic unit, I had to put on the safety gloves and couldn't move more than 8" or so when trying to dump the super hot grease (mostly because the other grease trap/tray was more wide and shallow than this one and had a very small hand grip on the front. 3. Crosshatch ridges on surface are weird at first but I've not had any problems. The texture of the griddle plate is odd but I've not had issue. I've used it many times to cook chicken breasts, bacon and have even been able to "cook" breaded goat cheese slices with NO PROBLEMS!!!! I've had no problem using my plastic spatula across this slightly gridded surface to scoop off excess oil or food bits into the grease tray. do note that my cooking utensils are heavy duty, restaurant supply grade so I can't speak for plain jane spatulas or such. 4. holy crap, are the removable legs such a bonus and a must for me! Once the unit has cooled down, I just detach the legs, put the legs in our hot soapy water bath and run off the excess grease on the grill pan from our hot water spout. I make sure to dry the legs after washing to make sure no rust occurs though I don't think they would. That's just how we do things in a restaurant business. What's Missing: I honestly have no complaints but if I was the engineer on this project, I would include the ability to adjust the height of any of the four "legs". This is my issue because the stainless steel surfaces in our deli are very old so when I use it in it's regular spot in my deli, the oil runs towards the back and not toward the grease drain in the front. Again, this is my issue and not the product. Yes, I could add risers to both the bottom feet but to be honest, it's best I don't as it keeps me cognizant of how much grease is being produced and how often I need to empty the grease tray. Again, this may sound like a negative but with using the other ceramic unit for several units, it became "out of sight, out of mind" so this is actually a plus for me. With my old unit, I can't tell you how many times the grease tray overfilled and I wasn't aware of it until I saw or heard the dripping and that was such a MESS!!!! CLEANING: Remove the bits and just run the full plate under hot water for a bit, then use your scrub brush (non-stick approved) and your done! Give the legs a decent wash with soapy hot water. let dry. So easy and I can't make you understand how much the ease of clean with this unit is so important. It makes all the difference! HEATING RANGE: 1.OKAY,so the heating is more intense from the direction of the heating attachment than towards the end of the heating coil underneath. However, it does not detract more than any other unit I have used, even the $20 more ceramic unit I had purchased. With bacon, it's a non issue as once you flip, the less heated side gets the more heated side. When it comes to chicken breasts, you learn to place the thicker portion of meat on top of the coil underneath with the thinner end of the breast towards the middle where there is no heat coil. With this unit, I haven't had to adjust my cooking style at all compared to the more expensive ceramic version. OVERALL: I just couldn't imagine how you would be disappointed in this unit. Again, I'm using it in a professional kitchen and it very much exceeded expectations. I don't expect to have to replace it for years!

We’ve put it through the ringer and it’s be great
I used this for a three month pop-up toasting burger buns and making grilled cheese sandwiches. We ran it for 4-5 hours straight adjusting temperature as needed when the griddle was empty. Like any griddle we would clean it between cooks with a bit of water and a wipe down to clean the crumbs and such. It’s worked wonderfully. Heats up quickly, and it’s easy to clean at the end of the day. It has hot spots that are more pronounced with higher heat for longer durations, but that’s to be expected and easy to work with. Cleaning regularly is key, but be sure not to use metal tools on nonstick surface. Used it outside for an event in rainy 40F weather last weekend to toast/warm biscuits, and it worked great. It was able to reach approximately 350/375F in the cooler weather on high.

Works well
I ordered this as a replacement for the Broil King that I had to return due to a rough, irregular surface. The Presto works well and heat distribution is good, when you give it time to heat up, as other reviewers mentioned. Have only cooked pancakes so far and they came out great. There is a very fine grain pattern on the griddle which does show up slightly on the pancakes, but does not effect the quality of the pancakes.

The best griddle I have ever had.
This is the best griddle I have ever had. I cooked a whole pound of bacon at once plus, no spattering. The little grease catcher underneath works very well. The cleanup is very easy. I highly recommend this griddle, it was worth every penny.

How could company send an Electric Griddle powered by 120 volts to ( UK ) where is 240 volts.
Appalled that Piccadilly would send a electric griddle powered by 120 volts to a customer who lives in a country ( UK ) who's power is 240 volts. We are struggling to return the griddle.

Very nice
The surface is different from the previous one I purchased a few years back. Different in a better way. Easy cleaning, small enough for three people.

Nope
The media could not be loaded. Beware whoever is buying from UK ! This is a 120V and it has a USA plug. Let's say this is my fault for not reading the description, fair enough. I had to pay 70£ extra for a voltage converter in order to use it. Anyway ! It came with some markings on the plate, not really sure where are those from. It is good looking and nice that you can remove the handles. It heats up fats BUT the heat is unconstant and the temperature variations across the griddle is quite high. In my case it really wasn't worth the money as I could've bought a tefal one from UK without having to wait too long ...
