The BEST pepper grinder

I cook a lot and enjoy trying new recipes, many of which call for freshly ground pepper. The Perfex grinds quickly and easily and has lasted for years. I love to gift them to other cooks!

This is a salt grinder disguised as a pepper grinder!!

I did order a pepper mill as the box says! But inside it was a salt mill!! I was upset as this was going to be a gift !!

Annoying squeaky noise and it skips

I’ve had the pepper version of this for nearly 20 years and it’s perfect. I just bought the salt grinder and I should have listened to the reviews. The grinding mechanism squeaks terribly and skips occasionally. I’ll probably return it.

Less than pleased

I received the Perfex 4-1/2 Inch Pepper Mill with no paperwork or written material regarding the product and, at the price paid for the item, found it less than satisfactory as a grinder compared to others at a lower price. The fact that is made of solid aluminum may justify the price since it may last longer than other grinders but that said, you can buy 2 or 3 other brand grinders that would perform as well or better than this product. Also, the size is too small for handling (I have large hands) and find that turning the handle for grinding awkward and at times, just plain difficult. Also, the grinding mechanism is not as smooth as I would have imagined and catches and more force than necessary (I feel) must be used to turn the handle. Overall, this product was not what I had imagined to be and would not recommend buying it at such a high price. There are other satisfactory pepper grinders available that would suffice in everyday kitchen and cooking use.

Great looking, but doesn't have a wide range of texture options.

Love the look, easy to use, holds a lot of peppercorns, but if you're looking for the ability to grind pepper to a fine consistency, this isn't for you. I happen to like semi-coarse to coarse grind, so it's perfect for me. Has lasted for quite a while and works perfectly.

Easy to fill. Looks nice for entertaining

Easy to fill and adjusting the ground size can require a bit of finger strength but it works very well, it’s well constructed and looks nice on a dining table. It doesn’t hold a huge amount of peppercorns.

Pepper-Salt mills

The products have great aesthetic value but a bit pricy. In short, they just look great. They are very easy to fill and heavy enough not to accidently tip over or slid all over serving trays or tables when not in use. However, I find that when grinding pepper, the unit often sticks and thus becomes hard to grind. Further, the adjustment screw at the bottom does not stay fixed as it should and often loosen during use. No such problems occur when grinding salt. Lastly, tons of salt or pepper are dispensed when gringing which is a big plus. In conclusion, I would recommend the product tempering my recommendation with the above noted negatives.

So much easier to load, deals well with sea salt

The first new grinder I tried got clogged up with the moisture that sea salt makes, so I purchased this brand instead. As long as you want find ground, this is excellent. I find the consistency of the larger grinds less good, but works fine for my household. So easy to load, since you don't have to take anything apart. Solid, so doesn't get knocked over on the counter as much.

Quality Product That Will Last For Decades

Love it. The new purchase is "semi-replacing" the same model that we received 26 years ago as a wedding gift. We use huge amounts of pepper for grilling and everyday cooking making this just about the most heavily used tool in our kitchen. These pepper mills last almost forever due to their high quality build. We are only semi-replacing the 26 year-old one now because we are afraid it might "eventually" fail. You can fully adjust the coarseness of the grind by simply dialing the nut on the bottom of the pepper mill. While expensive, this pepper mill will last decades.

Inferior quality

I purchased this item as a gift. It is a fairly expensive pepper mill (150.00). It worked for a couple of months, then stopped working. There is no option to return as the window for returns has passed. It is also beyond repair, as the entire mechanism is faulty. I have this exact pepper mill which I purchased 30 years ago. I am left to wonder about the quality control of their current product. I definitely do not recommend purchasing this pepper mill from this seller.

Perfect

A delightful mill, heavy and well made it's a great addition to our home. It's a wee bit pricey but the quality is obvious. We also bought the matching salt mill, which carries the same five star review from us.
