9.5 mm Heavy Duty Fiberglass Poles Work Great
These poles are 9.5 mm thick. If you are looking for durable longer lasting poles these work. Other cheap poles you can find onlline are only 7 mm and very thin. For outdoor use and durability these are the best poles I have found online. My only wish is that the metal fitting were more snug to fit into the pole ends. Other than that these are the best quality poles that I found so far.

I have a 4 person coleman tent. 2 of the poles snapped last trip. This set was perfect and easy to replace.

* see all my photos! * I like lots of photos, so I put up a ton. makes figuring out if this pole kit is for you easier. my coleman ridgeview tent had two broken/split poles. the coleman site was out of stock on replacement poles but they had them here on Amazon. two days later I have my new poles. first you need to take apart your old poles, do this by putting all the poles in line, then stretch the cord out one end until you can cut or untie the knot at the end. remove the damaged poles and put aside. match up your new pole to an existing pole that is in good shape. hold them along side each other with the metal ends at one end.... wrap tape at the top of the new pole about where the old pole meets. mark the tape with a sharpie so you know where to cut. the tape will help keep the fiberglass from fraying as you cut. we used our dremel cut off tool to cut. we first scored around the sharpie line. the while turning the pole as you cut, continue to cut into the pole slowly! dont push it let the tool do the work. (also wear googles and a dust mask)once the end is cut off, sand the end your keeping to smooth it out, then we sealed the end with some superglue spread on the tip. this helps smooth it more and finishes the end really nice. now you can string this new pole onto the rest, tie a knot at the end and your set. this kit comes with extra elastic cord , which I did not need as my cord was a bit stretched so it was able to stretch again and re-knot the end. the kid also has a thin wire with a hooked end (this is in one of the poles to keep it straight) there is also a tiny rubber bit that fits on the end of the wire to protect it in storage. it has 2 pole tips that my tent dose not use, but this is meant to work with many type tents. there are 4 poles and they will be longer than you need but you cut them to fit. the cutting is not hard to do. I will get some photos up to help show you this product and what we did. this is a great kit.

Wrong size for what I needed but not a bad product.
The wrong size was 9.5mm which is too large for my broken tent pole. Therefore, it was too large and could not work. But if it was the right size it may have worked. The quality and workmanship of this product set industry standards. Not many companies can supplant the superb standards set by the Seasoned workers at Coleman's.

Yes folks, I used SAE measurements, that's what we use here in the USA. They are accurate, I've been a carpenter 40+ years and know how to read a tape measure. Unless you're connected with the military or the government, almost all the rest of us in the USA use SAE (inch increments) NOT metric. Gripes me that companies located in the USA and their target market is USA customers continue to use metric measurements. Wake up! This kit can be used to replace poles on the Wind River 6 tent. Poles in kit are 27 3/16" long, counting metal ferule fitting. Fiberglass portion of these replacement poles are 3/8"; diameter. Appear adequate to replace OEM poles that have split on one end. The fiberglass portion of the pole is at least as thick as the Eureaka OEM poles. The ferule fitting has a thinner wall thickness than the OEM ferule, but both the OEM and the replacement kit poles fit these ferules, interchangeably. Hole size in the replacement kit pole is 9/64", the same as the OEM poles. For the price it's a good deal. The shock cord supplied in the kit is just under 1/8" diameter, and 10 feet long. Too short to be of any use except in emergency situations. My tent uses 9- twenty five inch poles in each section, so to replace the shock cord I'd need a piece that's around 18 feet. If you need longer shock cord look at the Sgt Knot's one here at Amazon. I gave this repair kit 4 stars because of the thinness of the ferule and the shock cord only being 10' long.

Perfect kit, just wrong size! Oops
Its difficult to estimate the thickness of your poles. I estimated mine using a measuring tape looking across the side (eye balling it). I was wrong. This is a 9mm kit. I used a caliper to measure mine (after I discovered that I was wrong) and mine were 11mm thick. So, I really can't fault the kit for my mishap. Take it from me, please use a caliper to determine how thick your poles actually area. Apparently there are 9mm, 10mm, 11mm pole versions and without this tool it is almost impossible to "guesstimate" even with a calibrated eye ball. If you don't know what a caliper is, see here: http://www.amazon.com/Inch-Digital-Caliper-Extra-Battery/dp/B0002JFMIO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405003352&sr=8-2&keywords=digital+caliper You could also call Coleman, give them the model number of your tent and they can advise how thick your poles are. 1-800-835-3278 When cutting these poles, I recommend using a rotary tool like a Dremel with a cut off wheel attached. Clamp the pole section in a vice and take your time to get a clean cut. When removing the string, pull it so that there is some slick and use a pair of vice grips to hold it in place. Then simply fish it out using some dental picks. Trust me the knot is in there in the end with the small metal ferrule with the pointy end. You can either cut he knot or spend time to undo it. I just cut mine off and a couple of centimeters isn't going to make a difference. When you make your new knot, use a figure 8 technique knot. If you don't know how to make that, just google / you tube how.

Excelente para recuperar tu tienda de campaña.
Tenía una tienda de campaña arrumbada porque se rompieron dos varillas. Compré este kit de refacciones y la restauré al 100%. El kit es de la marca Coleman pero son del mismo grosor que las de mi Ozark Trail. El kit incluye 4 varillas con tubo las cuales puedes cortar al tamaño que las necesites, incluye una cuerda resorte y un guía de alambre para pasar la cuerda por las varillas. En youtube puedes encontrar videos de como reparar varillas rotas, no es muy difícil.

A perfect fit, but broke a week later (edited)
I was scared to order this as a replacement for my tent, but it was a perfect fit! Came packaged very well, was clean, all parts were in the package, nothing broken or scratched and packaging was intact. Measurements were bang on!! Very happy....camper. Ha, see what I did there :) So, a week later the pole snapped in half. It was not under any stress, just being used as normal. I have since changed my review to reflect this. I am hoping to get a refund.

Je ne les ai pas encore essayé mais parcontre pour en avoir fait venir de d'autre compagnie qui étaient en un seul morceau et tres faible ceux-ci sont très solide et vous pouvez les coupers a la longueur désirée, on peu aussi aller voir sur youtube le video de comment utiliser le kit de reparation, un must a avoir en camping en cas de bris d'arceaux.

Requires to cut fuberglass
In assembled state one side ends with metal. To put a plastic head on it you have to cut it. You need tools to cut fiberglass.
