Works great!

I purchased this based on other reviews i read. I am very happy with this product. I was able to repair a broken pole without much effort. The pole i replaced was slightly smaller in diameter than the replacement pole, but that was no problem. The connector from the old pole fit perfectly into the connector of the new pole. So i just doubled up on connectors. These poles are not as flexible as the old poles, but seem to flex enough to do the job. I had to cut a pole short, but a hacksaw makes it very easy. I'm glad i purchased this product... it was exactly what i needed. Other reviews said the wire guide they give you to help with stringing the bungee was not helpful, but i found by unbending it and taping the end of the bungee to the guide wire, it helped get the bungee through the pole. I think this product would work for just about any tent that has flexable fiberglass poles with a bungee strung through the middle. Cutting required, but easy to install.

Perfect replacement for an old tent

We have a nice 20 year old Winnebago tent that broke the shock cord on one of the poles. It still worked fine until we lost one section of pole. Hated to throw the tent out and ordered this kit, hoping the pole diameter would be close enough to work. I was surprised it was almost exact, and the metal ferrells attached at one end were also the exact size of out OEM poles. I cut a little off a pole section to match the length or the originals, hot glued the loose ferrell on the other end (our poles have a ferrell at the end of each complete pole as wel), and used the wire to fish the shock cord through. Worked perfect. My only knock on these might be that the black outer gel coat on the outside of the fiberglass could be thicker. You can almost see the glass fibers through the thinish black "skin".

Just the thickness I needed to replace a splintered section.

I noticed a section of tent pole that bent too much. Realized it was splintered. This product saved a perfectly good tent from being tossed. It was the right thickness and I just had to cut it down by 2 inches. The connectors were also included.

Worked Great for 11mm Coleman Main Tent Pole (Montana 8 person tent)

Didn't want to buy the double/triple priced Coleman repair kit so settled on this one. The 7/16" kit worked perfect, I did need to cut it shorter but that is expected since they make the sections longer in repair kits. I just used a hacksaw and then sanded around the edges. After putting the replacement in, the original sections fit right with the replacement.

It was VERY easily cut to right length with hack saw

I snapped a section tent pole, but didn't want to replace the entire tent. I could not find an original replacement pole online and was a little nervous about buying a random repair kit. I used a wrench set to measure the diameter of the original pole (the 7/16 wrench fit snuggly around the original broken pole. It was VERY easily cut to right length with hack saw, and in no time at all, my tent was as good as new. It was way easier than I could have imagined. -- Hint, before removing the shock line from unbroken part of the original, I tied some fishing line onto the end, so I could easily just pull it back through those poles. (Even though the leader wire worked great to get it through the new section I think that the fishing line made it a little quicker.) I reused my original shock cord which was in fine condition. The included shock cord is to short to replace entire shock cord of whole tent pole, I wonder if there would be a way to splice out a worn or broken section with some knots? (Or may need to just buy some separately if that is what needs fixed.) I have three left over sections for next time a section breaks.

Great replacement for broken poles.

I replaced broken poles with these. Perfect fit and function. I would warn you to use the included retaining stretchy rope which is much longer than the default you will be replacing. It's not easy to get that stretchy rope through all the poles without it snapping back, causing you to start over. The included rope is easier and then you just shorten it at the end. Lesson learned

Excellent buy

I have looked around the area for these poles, as last summer the wind broke one of my tent poles i went to REI and they stated that they didnt carry this particular size(7/16) in Store but would gladly sell me a new TENT. I spun on my heels and left the store thinking Sportsmans Warehouse would surely carry them, while there the salesman told me they also did not carry them in store. I looked on the internet and found them ranging in price from $11.99 to $56.99. Amazon was the cheapest at 11.99 and I ordered them they were the proper size although had to be cut to length, but they held up beautifully in the wind we encountered camping,and did not break. I would highly recommend these as a replacment pole again,the kits have all pieces necessary to repair the main poles that hold the tent up. Thank you Amazon for providing a great product at a very reasonable price.
