Weighed 17.5 pounds, not 14. Right length for a "curved curb" though.
This is my third EZ-Access ramp, and it works as well as the others: you just take it out of the box, unfold it , and place it and you're done. I gave this one 4 stars because it actually weighs 17.5 pounds, not 14 as the top line in the description says. I paid extra for this one because it was supposedly so light, so I was disappointed. That extra 2.5 lbs puts me a little closer to straining my back as carry it up and down my driveway in my wheelchair and place it on the curved cement curb in front of my house. Curved curbs, which are not allowed to be altered where I live, are what passes for a driveway, too, so I was stuck buying a portable ramp (also not allowed to place a ramp and leave it there). For anyone stuck with these curbs, a 3 foot ramp works just right, 2 ft is too short.

Makes Anyplace Accessible
Wheeling my mom in a transport chair has made me much more cognizant of flat entrances to buildings, businesses, and even my home. A specialist, whose office had a few steps, introduced us to this handy contraption. We use it mostly to access homes which have a step up threshold. Although it is not advised, we do not secure the ramp to the top surface with the pin. We just lay the top flap (the slightly bent one) on the top step and open the ramp. We are using it primarily as a very temporary, transportable ramp, and not drilling a hole to keep it in place. Please note, I always step on it and jump and jostle it a bit to be sure it is steady in place before my mom uses it. It’s a quick fix to many accessibility problems!

Portable, affordable, good traction -- and perfect for a knee scooter too
Who wants a ramp? Who even wants to need a ramp? Certainly not me...until I did. After all the research--including actual math--I decided on this one. I live alone, so it had to be something I could wrangle on my own. And I ride a knee scooter, so it had to be safe for a device with a high center of gravity. It's lightweight, portable, affordable. The ridged surface is enough to keep the scooter from running away with me, while providing good traction to my pushing leg. A knee scooter's back wheels are only about 8 inches apart, and the hardware where the ramp folds is about 3 inches wide--narrow enough to pass between the wheels without a problem. Best of all, I just took it out of the box, unfolded it, and rested the top lip on the door sill --and it was installed! The bottom edge of the ramp is tapered so it's easy rolling--there's no initial bump on the way up. There are bolts if you want to fasten the top lip permanently to the door frame but it stays in place fine by its own sturdy weight. Other users say it's not necessary, although if it were exposed to the elements in a Northeast winter I'd consider it. My 3-foot ramp is an easy, gentle slope for the 5-inch rise to my door. It's a good idea to google the proper ramp length for your situation.

WELL MADE & DURABLE
I searched all over for a handicapped accessible apartment. I have progressive Multiple Sclerosis. I usually use a walker to & from the car (rarely take my scooter in the house). I finally found an apartment I love but there was a BIG PROBLEM; the front and rear door had low steps that were just enough to be a tripping hazard & would make getting in & out with my walker difficult & if I needed to bring my scooter inside it would be impossible. I could have applied for a REASONABLE ACCOMODATION & asked the new property manager to do something with the steps but I didn't want to be labeled a problem tenant before moving in. I asked if I could put portable ramps in each doorway & they had no problem with that. I of course turned to Amazon as that is where I make most of my purchases. I looked at many ramps but this one seemed best suited to my needs. Once again Amazon did not disappoint; THEY ARE EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED. They installed easily. I am no lightweight & I use a U-step walker which is heavy; the ramps never buckle or show signs of strain.

SAFETY ISSUE!
PRO: The ramp fits correctly. It's the right length & width & is easy to use. CON: After using it successfully for a few days, the two ramp pieces are not staying even. One side is sliding down the rubber connector. If I don't keep checking it daily, one ramp piece could come off the front door step which could cause a fall. I cannot adjust it myself because I'm disabled. Consequently, I need to have someone put it back together every few days.

Use it for our riding mower
They work for our electric riding mower. The black rubber that holds them together can be pulled out so that you can separate and space them for your mower wheels. Plenty sturdy, and there is a handle for each one. Our storage shed was about 7” above ground level. Relatively light.

It could be even worse of an injury if someone fell on it
The upright angle rails were left sharply pointed at each end of the ramp (not rounded). This would damage the wheels on the wheelchair. Also, this sharp corner could cause personal injury to ones foot. It could be even worse of an injury if someone fell on it. This overlooked detail spoiled an otherwise excellent, well made strong ramp.

a Lifesaver
This has been a real improvement for dealing with my ailing parent, I am able to get her in and out of the house alot easier and with more confidence since we have this sturdy ramp to bridge the steep step such as the one pictured on the page.. It took only a few seconds to get it into place and secured with 2 screws for semi-perminant installation at my home. Thank you for creating a economical yet sturdy solution to this problem! I can just as easily remove it if need be for transport elsewhere etc. Handy suitcase style design is just the thing to make this even more portable.

Me sirvieron perfectamente
