And there was light
My son is a space nut so this is perfect. As much as he love the planetarium portion he also loves the slides that come with it. We've sat through several planetarium shows that he has put on for us showing us all the different types of galaxy formations. I would say that if you're planning on using this as a night light then be ready to charge batteries at least 1-2 times a week. My son uses this every night and we turn it off when we check on him before we go to bed (around 12-1 am) so it does last for a while. Note: I can't praise Eneloop rechargebale batteries enough. I've been using them for years and can't believe the power consistency. I believe they are rated for like 10,000 recharges and with how much we use them over the past 10 years I have never thrown one out yet. I know they are pricey but after using several different inferior varieties I just can't love them more.

Great gift
My 9-year-old Grandson is into astronomy now, and he loves this STEM toy, he watches the solar system revolve around the room and loves that he can name most of it. It is too bad there are no more slide disks available to buy for it, they would be able to become more advanced as he does.

Love the lights
I have two son's who share a room, and they really enjoy the light show. We bought this primarily because we wanted a night light to put in their room and in the product description it said that it could be used for that purpose. The only issue that we have with the product is that it only runs on batteries. We bought some recyclables and are running it that way, but since it was advertised as a potential night light, I kind of expected either a timer to turn it off to conserve batteries, or a 12V adapter to plug into the wall.

If you're looking for planetarium grade projection, this is not the one for you.
The product came sooner which was great, and the person that i gifted it to likes it, but i thought the projection was going to look a little more realistic. The light is blue and it has a blue filter. It looks more like when you overexpose a night sky where you begin to see the stars get streaky. The slides that it comes with are nice, but don't project as large as i expected. It's durable, but really not worth the price. I think next time, I'll go with a larger projector that costs more. Great for kids, but not for an older couple. Overall, not a TERRIBLE product.

Missing part, but otherwise a cute product.
There is no EDUCATIONAL BOOKLET inside this package. Can you please send me one? Otherwise shall I request a replacement?

Not what you're hoping for
Like myself, I'm sure you are looking to purchase a little slice of awesome for your loved one. I advise you to keep looking. Unfortunately this product probably won't deliver the exploratory wonder you're seeking to instill in a young mind because, to an adult, these projected "stars" appear as smudges moving across the room. To a kid, who knows. But when I was growing up, I'm pretty sure I wasn't looking forward to having mom tuck me in to bed, turning out the lights, and watching thousands of blobs rotate around my ceiling. I paid 60 dollars for this product. Knowing what I know now, I'd pay half that. Do your kid a favor and get him or her a light saber.

Christmas present for a grandson
We weren't there when he opened it (we live in different states), but his Mom said it was a BIG hit.

"Planetarium" is overselling it, but the slides are good
I bought this hoping for an accurate projection of the stars for our 2-year-old's bedroom so we could look at the constellations together. This product can't manage that. The images produced by the "planetarium" are unfocussed and blurry. They are also blue for some reason, and the projections revolve thanks to a motor which makes a subtle grinding noise and cannot be turned off. That said, this does an excellent job as a projector for the supplied space slides We project them on the ceiling, lie back, and name the planets. The project is easy to angle and point and feels pretty solid. It's expensive for that, though. Projector: 5/5 Planetarium: 2/5

Probably the best star projector around
This product is very good as a planetarium type projector for the "random" star filter that it has. For projecting on to walls in a house the focus isn't that great for all stars so the constellation filter is a bit poor. It would be great if the was a random star with constellation filter included. We use the planetarium mode for helping get our 1 year old to sleep and he loves it. I could take or leave the picture projection mode. But we will see what the boy thinks when he is a bit older. Overall the product is very good.

great for all ages
easily one of the best things I have bought for my kids (2 and 1). the images are clear on my 12ft ceilings and the images are varied. my eldest usually says "woooow" or shouts "moon" or "Saturn" which is awesome and shows them engaging with the "toy". there is a twist focus for the slide show but not for the stars as it isn't needed. there is a switch to change from slide show at one end to stars on the other end or off. the "stars" end is our favourite as the projector head slowly rotates and the stars rotate around the room. the item is very durable as my kids were treating it like a football and it's still going strong. I'm tight with my money and this was a great buy and definately suitable for babies through to anyone who enjoys space.

Turning your ceiling into the night sky
I got this for a little one who is fascinated by the sky to help him falling asleep. This projector has 3 modes: constellations, night sky, and slides projector. I find both the night sky and the constellations modes very relaxing and the little one enjoys hearing me telling stories about the constellations. We are not using the slides at the moment because the little one is still too young to enjoy them, but they are great for sky enthusiasts. I’m very pleased with how silent the rotating mechanism is. This makes it perfect for me to use it to help the little one to relax before sleeping. The only downside I can see is that I wish it had more domes with all constellations, rather than just one. That’s because the one provided is a subset of sky seen from the northern hemisphere and I was hoping to teach my little one to recognise all constellations. Overall, this is a great gift for a sky enthusiast!
