Perfetto dai 5 anni in su.

Surprised Me
I got this for my 7-year-old daughter and it was a hit with her and my 10-year-old son. They started by just building different sets and knocking it down. They had no idea there were actually challenges in the instruction booklet at first but soon discovered them and were excited to tackle the challenges. The set includes everything you need and inspires kids to use items around the house to incorporate. The pieces are very simple and there is nothing to really put together, it is ready to go right out of the box (there are stickers included you can add but not required.) This set surprised me because it is very simple but has kept my kids entertained. I like that the box is a sturdy cardboard one that I can store everything in. It has got my kids thinking about cause and effect and problem solving. Definitely a set to get kids thinking!

STEM centered challenging toy
I love toys that challenge my kids, and this toy from Learning Resources does just that! Pendulonium is a STEM centered challenger. It helps kids develop critical thinking and early engineering skills. The starting age is 5 but my 5 year old was only able to make it to card 4. I'm sure with alot of practice he will get further but I think the starting suggested age should be closer to 7, although even my 8 year old found it to be quite challenging. Included in this kit is 2 balls, 6 cones, 2 goal cups and of course a pendulum. There are also 9 cards with different configuration ideas that get more difficult as it goes up (1 is easiest 9 hardest). I would most definitely recommend this toy/ game for anyone looking for something that would challenge their kids but just bear in mind the age recommendation.

Missing a piece
Set up was simple enough, but it did take me a bit to figure out where all the stickers were supposed to go. We only ended up with 16 of the 17 pieces supposed to be in the box (missing the gray circular piece). I think I would enjoy this more with a bit more beginning instruction. I understand it's supposed to be more of a free-play concept, but more challenges would have been nice, as my girls weren't really interested in coming up with their own challenges themselves. Maybe more play time will help, but as for first impressions, this was just okay.

Open Creativity and lots of thinking but maybe missing something...
I like a lot of toys from Learning Resources. This one does have my kids building lots of "obstacle courses" and trying new ideas. My problem is don't feel like this is the same level I've seen with their other products. The pendulum is slightly crooked making our long or challenging shots veer to the left. (May just be my particular box) There are no real instructions, just a few pictures of things to try and a sticker sheet. You can do quite a bit with this set alone but its a little redundant. Adding a few small toys of my own changes it up and add more possibilities. I wish it had some other pieces to go along with it.

Disappointed
Not as interesting as I thought, not really a "game" type. Was disappointed

Pretty good product
Pretty good product, but not as good as some of the other learning resources products we have purchased. Pieces are all made well, arrived on time.

So much fun
This toy is a lot of fun. Lots of options are provided with how to play but we love setting up our own and being creative. Definitely gets the kids thinking creatively. Highly recommend

The Pit and the Pendulonium
Can you have fun with physics? Without it you are unlikely to be able to do anything. Learning Resources have produced a series of kits that encourage STEM learning with fun activities. The 'Pendulonium Stem Challenge' is a set that allows you to swing mallets, hit balls and knock over blocks, what is not fun about that? This toy takes the block building and knocking over fun of something like Angry Birds and brings it into the real world. It perhaps does not have the complexity of the levels in a game, but you can do some pretty neat stuff. The pack comes with pendulum that you use to hit a slightly weighted plastic ball. This knocks the ball forwards to knock over the cones. As am activity set there is fun to be had here, setting things up and then making them fall down is always good, but it is a little limited. Once you have used the different elements a few times, there is not much else to do. You do need to add some of the stickers when you open the box, but you also get some instructions that give you several different ways in which you can play. After a while it is up to the enthusiasm and imagination of the child themselves. They can make the challenge more tricky by using elements such as the windmill or even your own room. For the right engineer minded child this is a good alternative to something like LEGO as it develops other skills. I think a true game element would have extended the life - as you can replay it. As it is, this is a fun set, but you need to make the entertainment yourself.

Great activity
This is not a game...which is where I think some reviewers got a little muddled. This is a great STEM activity to do with your child while discussing some of the more basic parts of physics. It was a great starting point and gave some focus and aim to our discussions while learning useful skills about testing an idea to prove it.

Didn't inspire my STEM-mad, would-be scientist 6 year old
Not as great as some of the Learning Resources products. This set comprises a pendulum with a removable "tee", two balls, 8 cones, an arch and 2 traps. The idea is that you copy the increasingly complex set-ups detailed in the accompanying activity cards, for example, there is one in which you have to boot the ball off a cone with the pendulum, into one of the traps. When we opened the game, my 6 year old son systematically went through the activity cards and replicated each set-up. He wasn't particularly motivated to experiment with the set. I didn't find it particularly stimulating, either. The set is supposed to be illustrative of forces and motion, etc which, of course, it is, but it's not very inspiring. My son is STEM-mad and a keen would-be scientist, but this wasn't for him.

Great educational toy
Such a fun STEM activity to allow kids to develop problem-solving skills within Science/Technology/Engineering and Maths. We had lots of fun exploring cause and effect and how to alter the course of the pendulum. Lots of giggles and some amazing chatting about what was happening/what might happen next/why things happened etc.

Great play and learning experience.
This is great fun and a nice little learning experience for any budding engineer or scientist. Basic cause and effect physics using a pendulum to knock things over - and kids love to knock things over! It is very self-directed when used as a toy but my grandson is having a great time getting all his lego and blocks out and making massive towers - then using his new pendulum to knock the whole lot down. He is not old enough for the theory side yet, but the practical is currently hilarious fun.
