Amazing!

Well made & works

Product as advertised - clean machining on body & NPS threads (as opposed to others advertised as such, but with straight threads & unsealable). Price was competitive and shipping was fast. No complaints - would definitely purchase again.

NPT threaded and Lead Free Brass at a good price!

NPT is pretty common for recirculation pump threading. These check valves make pump installation as easy as 1,2,3. They are also lead free, brass and approved for potable water supplies. All this and a great price, you can;'t go wrong with these.

Solved my issue!

My house has a hot water recirculation system. A check valve was never put on the system, so you would never get really hot water unless the pump was running. This solved the issue! Even with the pump off, I will eventually get hot water now. Took me a few years to figure this out. I feel bad for previous two owners.

Defective crack open pressure in the range >= 6lbs, not the 1.4lbs they should be

I have a specific application (wildlife management guzzler) that uses gravity feed from 305 gallon tank which requires a low crack-open-pressure of around 1lb-1.5lbs. I have already used qty:2 of these 3/4 inch check valves which have around a 1.4 PSI minimum opening pressure for two previous projects, and works great. I purchased qty: 2 “more” of these G31SL valves and the crack-open is much greater than 1.4 PSI, more in the range of >= 6.0 PSI. After inspection of the valve which opens around 1.4 vrs the valve that opens around 6.0 psi, I noticed that the wall thickness of the spring used in the 6.0 psi valve was much thicker. So, the conclusion is that the wrong spring was installed on these valves I received. I have a hard requirement that needs a low crack open pressure, and these particular valves didn't meet it, and from previous purchases of same valve model (G31SL), seem to be defective. If you don’t care about opening pressure, then they may work for you. I also purchased a 1 inch version of this check valve, and it is ok with a crack open pressure in the range of 1.5 psi. So the issue seems to be with quality control of these two particular 3/4 valves I purchased. For my application, they go to the trash bin

Hard to seal threads

This valve looks well built and works good, but I had a hard time getting the threads to seal to a 1” npt to 3/4” pex fitting. Not sure if these threads aren’t actually NPT or what. Ended up taking it apart and reapplying Teflon tape for a second time. Still required cranking tight to the point I was struggling and felt uncomfortable I was going g to break it. Finally got it to seal up after several attempts.

Excellent check valve for water lines.

As far as check valves go, this is a very good one at an excellent price. Other reviews have faulted this valve for the wrong reasons: It has the VERY common Female Pipe Threads at both ends -- this is NOT the same as Garden hose threads. The threading is cut very well and should not leak if sealed with lots of teflon tape or (my favorite) RectoSeal. As with all brass fitting tighten but DO NOT over-tighten as the brass threading can be damaged. No amount of tightening will fix a poor job of sealing. The valve easily opens if you blow into the correct end. There is some amount of flow restriction, as you would expect with this type of device, but it is not excessive. It makes a nearly perfect seal in the reverse direction. This is a very good check valve for water in the 15 to 125 psi range. I have not tested it with high pressure air or low pressure fuel gases like propane or natural gas.
