Awesome Product, Terrible Packaging

I loved the size of this cave. I got the large and was excited to get it as I have a BP who loves hiding. The issue I had with the item is that it arrived broken. It is made of ceramic and comes in two parts. Each part is in its own box within the main box. There’s no additional packaging or bubble wrap, so the item is not protected if there’s any pressure on the main box which is unfortunate because the item isn’t cheap. I filed for a damage return and am getting a full refund and don’t have to ship the item back, which is good because it’s sharp and can cut someone. But, it’s sad it will end up in the trash, as this is avoidable with just a little extra packaging. I’ll be looking at some other options, as the ceramic structure of it makes me nervous since it can cut my snake if damaged at any point and me not see it. Would have been nice if this had been made of a firm plastic or even resin. One good thing about it being ceramic however is it would be good for transferring heat if placed on a heating mat. Who knows, I may give it another go. All in all, the product isn’t bad, just the packaging, hence the 3 stars.

Huge

I currently have this cave in a size medium for my corn snake. She is outgrowing her current cave and i wanted to buy her this brand of cave, but, in the next size up. But, I can't believe what a huge difference there is in size. The sizing goes from medium, to gargantuan, with no in-between. The medium could be a small, the small could be extra small, and this huge cave could be, extra large, and there is plenty of space in-between to have a normal size large. I'm so disappointed. I am returning this and continuing my search for one that will fit my snake's needs.

Great Product 12in hide

It's a great product and fits my 4ft BP in with room and he loves it. The only thing I would change about this would be the lid. It's loose and you have to push it to one side in order to keep it sturdy and I always think the snakewill knock it off it. But hasn't if a light magnet was added on 2 of the sides i feel more comfortable about it but nonetheless it works and hasn't fallen off due to the same going in and out. I would buy it again I just thing $50+ is a little high. Over great product traps heat great and keeps them up to temp

He loves it!

I have a pb so that’s why I got this hide and he absolutely loves it, I put him directly next to the new hide after it was all set up and he went straight into it and hasn’t come out. He loves it!

Not worth the money

What a misleading ad, it says it's ideal for large snakes as the picture shows a ball python on top of it, the problem is that it's a baby ball python and misleads consumers, I have a four and a half foot long Borneo short-tailed python and she couldn't even get through the entrance to the hiding hole so I wasted my money on it for now, at least when I get her bigger enclosure down the road I can use it as decoration inside of the enclosure to hold some Moss to help with my humidity other than that it's worthless because my snake is too big for it and she's four and a half foot long which is as big as that ball python should be and she could wrap up around it and you wouldn't even tell it was there don't waste your money if you have anything bigger than 3 ft

Large, functional reptile hide

Large enough for my adult female ball python’s chubby royal highness. She spends a lot of time in that hide (even though she has two other hides to choose from). I see this as a definite win! Though I only am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is ceramic instead of the hard plastic material that these hides used to be. When I clean it, I am paranoid of the ceramic breaking. It also was a bit more pricey than other hides available on the market.

Good Piece, But A Few Notes

I bought a large hide and I’m overall pleased with it. My 4 1/2 ft ball python fits in it just fine with extra room. It looks different from the picture and the paint was chipped in multiple places, but the structure is sound. However, the top is pretty light and my snake can easily push it off. I also had to wash the inside really well because there was a lot of paint residue that came off on my hands. Overall, worth the purchase since my girl loves it.

Excellent; well packaged

The media could not be loaded. It was certainly worth the half hour it took to unpack the item. They had shipped it in 4 boxes packed inside of eachother, each wrapped in tape and sticky bubble wrap. The cave itself is a great addition for a ball python. I wouldn't suggest other heros as the top can readily be knocked and moved with enough force and could potentially lead to an injury if not secured prior to placement.

Fehlkonstruktion

Nach längerer Testphase ist abschließend zu sagen dass die Höhle zu den Dingen die die Welt nicht braucht gehört! Das Moos trocknet innerhalb 48 Stunden komplett aus, staubtrocken sogar. Zum Moos trocknen zu gebrauchen aber als Wet Box gänzlich unbrauchbar. Bastel mir wieder eine selber, da bleibt es zwei Wochen feucht drin und sieht noch dazu besser aus. Fehlkonstruktion. Lieferung und Verpackung waren Top, Klasse Verkäufer!

Perfekt für Schlangen unter 2 Meter

Ich habe mir das Heim für meine 1m Königspython geholt. Er muss zwar noch etwas zulegen aber mit 900g hat er genügend platz.Er könnte durchaus 2 mal hineinpassen und beide würden sich kaum bis garnicht berühren. Der Stein kam unversehrt und gut eingepackt an. Ich habe eine Mischung aus Schildkrötensubstrat und Moos im Stein. Die Feuchtigkeit hält sich darin, aber Staunässe sollte vermieden werden. Aber es sollte darauf geachtet werden eine Breite von MINDESTENS 60 CM im Terrarium zu haben, sonst könnte es ein wenig eng werden.

Schade eigentlich . . .

Das Material ist gut - deshalb 2 Sterne . . . Ansonsten : rutscht der Deckel fröhlich rum - weshalb das Moos sehr schnell austrocknet und das ganze Teil nicht mehr als 1 Stein etc angesehen werden kann da das Oberteil alles andere als perfekt zum Unterteil passt. Habe Grösse M und L - und bei beiden das gleiche Problem . . . bei M ist der Deckel viel zu leicht - den drückt sogar meine 80-cm-Korni locker runter

Empfehlenswert

Die Höhle ist echt super... auch für schlangen von ca 2,20 Meter. Einziges Kriterium. Deckel ist nur drauf gelegt. Eine Magnetische funktion oder ähnliches damit die Schlange den Deckel nicht einfach auf drückt wäre nice. Aber ansonsten bin ich zufrieden damit.

Unstabil - Farbablösung nach 6 Wochen

Absolut ungeeignet für Phyten. Meine hat sich 1x reingeschlängelt, sich innen eingekringelt und der Deckel ist gesprungen... Sollte schon etwas aushalten wenn es für "Reptilien" geeignet angeboten wird. Habe das untere Teil, welches nicht gesprungen war weiterhin als Wet-Place angeboten. Joa.. nach nicht mal 6 Wochen löst sich die schwarze Farbe ab und somit absolut nicht zu gebrauchen... Wenn 0 Sterne zu vergeben wären würde ich dies tun.
