Sharp Edges…

I should have read the reviews as it seems this is still a problem and the seller has not yet tried to solve the issue. Maybe they can’t? The point is you will definitely have to sand some areas down for the safety of your animal as there are VERY sharp edges all around. For the price, it’s a bit excessive plus you have to do the work, but if you don’t mind the work then sanding it down is the way to go. Nonetheless, it’s a perfect size for my gecko and the finishing touches are not too bad. Not too flimsy either.

Its gonna serve its purpose and at good price.

Nice piece. There was only one small sharp point underneath. Took a fingernail file and took care of that with a few passes. Wanted to provide more hiding places for the fish since I only had the one little house. I also wanted to add some height by placing the statue on top. Works well. Very satisfied.

I combined this cave hideout with AquaNatural Gold Pearl 10lb Gravel Substrate for Aquariums, terrariums and vivariums, 2-4mm and it looks perfectly natural in my 5.5gal tank. My neon tetra and zebra danio love swimming in and around it!

Penn-Plax Listened!

So I was looking for a new basking platform for my mud turtle but couldn’t find anything tall enough that fit the dimensions of my narrow 55 gallon tank. When I found this extra large piece I was thrilled! A lot of people complained that the inside was extremely sharp and that it was too rough for their pet. I was prepared to sand the inside down because I knew this was the perfect piece for my tank and wanted to make it work. Well it arrived and the inside was smooth as can be! Only one (maybe two) little rough spots that I plan to sand down just as a precaution for my turtle. Great size and dimensions and am so excited to get my 55 gallon up and running today. Also got Penn-Plax’s Cascade 1000 canister filter too at a great price. I think I have found my go-to brand for my turtle’s tank!

My Leopard Gecko loves it

I can now see my little leopard gecko when she hides under this. Ziggy also loves to sit on top of this at nighttime and survey her vivarium before she goes off hunting for food.

Good Product, sharp insides.

Smaller than expected, very sharp on the inside. Good product otherwise, looks realistic and the outside feels like a nice texture. Perfect for my Leopard Gecko.

Beware! Looks nice on the outside but it is razor sharp on inside Not safe!

Negatives: For anyone buying this product, beware that the inside is extremely dangerous for your fish. On the inside the edges and ridges are Razor sharp, and I'm not exaggerating here, I nearly sliced my finger! This is unusable as your fish will cut themselves. I am going to try and sand everything down if possible because there seems to be a shortage of Aquarium supplies most likely due to COVID-19 and Supplies from China. If the manufactures can see this, please please please take some time to smooth out the edges or change your molds some how because its useless as is with the sharp edges. It also has a slight smell of a chemical or glue but this seems to go away as you wash it. Positives: The outside looks very nice it has a nice weight to it.
