Looks just like the 16-oz one I bought from a logging store.
I have no complaints.

Don't get the lighter one
This product works extremely well once you get the hang of it. I thought about getting the lighter one, thinking I could throw it higher. I'm glad I didn't. The weight also has to come down through the canopy and branches and I think the 10oz might get hung up. I wouldn't want to go lighter than the 12oz.

... a throwing weight and line kit and it works pretty well. The first thing I had to do ...
1st time I have owned a throwing weight and line kit and it works pretty well. The first thing I had to do was to tie a proper knot onto the throw weight. The weight itself is bullet shaped and can reach 35 to 40' (maybe higher) in the air once you get the throwing technique down. I practiced throws in an open area just to get a feel for the timing and aiming. Beware, the first few times I tried this I was wearing a leather work glove and then, later, I tried throwing once with a bare hand and got a wicked rope burn on the inside of my middle finger. The 1/8" diameter nylon rope is pretty stout and it needs to be given that, once you have put the weight through the upper tree branches, you need to hoist the arbor rope with the nylon rope - again, gloves are very helpful with this task. One final item is storage - I am using a clean 5 gallon bucket and a lid. The bucket is very helpful as it was easy to put the rope in (all 120' of it) with the weight attached. By carefully "paying" the rope in and letting it coil naturally, it does not get tangled when you throw - the rope follows the weight and does not seem to influence the flight of the weight. At first the 12 oz weight seemed heavy but now seems good since I have been using it. In the end, my being able to get a rope secured high up in the tree and tied off prior to starting to cut has made the whole job way easier and much safer.

Very useful for amateur radio
This is the simplest and most effective way I've found to hang ham radio antennas from trees. Getting your dipole or J-pole an additional 40 feet in the air makes all the difference, and this makes it super easy. Once the throw line is up on a high branch, I tie the antenna to it and pull it up the tree.

The only way to go.
It is hard to believe this would make such a difference in getting a rope up a tree. I used to tie things on ropes and spend too much time trying to get the rope in just the right spot on the tree but this thing is so easy to use I wish I would have bought it years ago.The combination of the perfect style bag and the incredibly strong nylon line makes it easy to get the rope right where you need it. The 1/8" nylon line glides easily with no resistance and is strong enough to pull any pulling rope over the tree. The only bad thing about it is it didn't last long at my house because my friends and family are always borrowing it.

12oz 150' Orange line kit
12oz has a nice heft to it so you can hand-chuck it just fine up into tall tree branches and not feel like you pulled your shoulder each time you go to get a line up there. Only complaint is that yellow (tri-braid?) cordage that comes with it just loves to knot and tangle all over itself, if you even look at it wrong. I'd suggest getting a swivel and some thick gloves, attach one end to the swivel and that to a stationary object, and then lay it all out. Next, put weight on it with your gloves and try to get all the bends that have set into it from the manufacturer's packaging. If it keeps it up, I may just replace it with some 550 cord (paracord) so I don't have to spend ~15min each time I get ready to chuck it, getting all the tangles out of it. But that may not glide as well as this does once you get it up over the branch you want and 'pendulum'/tug.

Excellent Product
This line is excellent and I find the 12oz weight to be just right. At times I would prefer that the line was a bit thinner than it is, but it is strong enough to pull up heavy rigging lines and also slips through tree crotches easily. Both the weight and line are easily seen in the canopy. i combined this weight and line with the WesSpur folding cube and combination has proved flawless, so far, and I'm pleased with both items

A great throw line.
I use this in an industrial environment, rigging ropes over I-Beams. The lines take a beating being pulled over steel but still holds up well enoigh.

Absolutely essential for putting up ham radio antennas
First I would like to thank amazon for replacing the first product that the shipper delivered to the wrong address, they were great to deal with and I received the second Weaver kit in a few days. Now on to the product review, the kit is amazing, as an amateur radio operator, we are always looking for a way to get a line up into tall trees so we can lift our antennas up high. This through kit will do that, and very high quality. You literally cannot get snagged on a branch, but be prepared to practice, but that part is fun. Oh by the way, while I intend to get a Weaver bag to store the rope in, a cardboard box works fine to hold the rope while you toss the cool lead shot weight up over the branches. Thank you Weaver and Amazon!

expected lower quality for the price, but this throwline is hilariously cheap.

Great deal
Great deal for the price. The line has a larger gauge than what I’m used to but it does the job.
