Works well for temporary ham radio antennas

Yes, the supplied rope has occasional strand defects but they don't seem to affect use. Works well once you learn how to stow and throw it. Youtube videos are a great help. Also its much less attention-grabbing than a bow & arrow, fishing pole, slingshot, air cannon, drone or other methods of getting antennas up into trees. --N2GX

Simple solution for throwing line in tree.

I bought this kit because I wanted a throw bag to throw a rope into a tree. For the price I also got more rope. If you need to throw a rope into a tree this system is much easier than throwing whatetever soft heavy item you have into a tree. This is a very simple system. A bean bag with a metal ring on the end and a whole bunch of rope. But this works much better than using random items and random rope. I don't this this is super heavy duty. Eventually you might poke a hole in it. But it is made well enough that if you use it as intended it will probably last a decade or more.

Easy to use if you hand it to your wife to throw...

We had a standing dead tree on our property that needed to come down. Top area was limbless but had a rotted out section to hook the rope over. Three strikes and I was out but my wife hit it on the second throw. We then used the throw line to pull up a winch line to successfully pull the tree over. We used a 5-gal bucket to feed the throw line from as opposed to purchasing the collapsible throw line box without feeding issues.

Good quality, but expensive for what it is

Last time I bought these it was at about 60% the price. I'm sure inflation hasn't gone up that much.

shockingly, this is not that hard and worked well

easy as pie. I suggest watching a couple of online videos to learn the best technique. I was worried about this getting hung up in the branches, but we always managed to pull it free. Pretty cool.

Cuts great

Bought this to cut down some high branches in my yard. I attach a weight to one end, a rope to the other and toss it over the branch. When the weight drops a tie another rope to the other end and cut way. Cuts much easier than I thought it would.
