Will fit tapered straight bars and disc brake lines with small modifications. **
Great product, the quick disconnect for the basket is clever. There were some complications because of the fat tapered bar. My wife has a newer hybrid bike with straight fat tapered bars and disc brakes, so stout cables in the way . I had to gap the hanging brackets out by setting the bracket in place and hitting with a 5lb sledge with a piece of wood over it to protect it. ( If you want to protect the handlebar paint I suggest wrapping electrical tape on them where the two hanging brackets make contact. I used a big zip tie around the frame to pull it tight to avoid bouncing around, although she'll need to keep the bracket on. I snuck the brake lines back a bit too make it easier to take the basket on and off and used 2 zip ties loosely as a guide for them to pass through so they are loose enough for cable shack when turning the wheel. ( I'll probably use rubber bands in the future to ensure the zip ties don't tighten too much around the cables)

Great buy, arrived quickly.
The package arrived faster than I expected which was great. The product came exactly as described and was easy to install onto my hybrid bike. I put a liner on it and use it to carry my 7lb dog (I don't recommend anything much heavier than that). She is able to sit comfortably in it. I only advise that if you do use it to carry a living creature, reinforce it (I used zip ties) to further secure the basket to the bike. Also, sharp turns are a little bit more difficult to make when the basket is in place but I still highly recommend this product.

Just got back from my first ride
I was concerned about this model, but all my concerns proved to be mistaken. It is awesome! In more detail: 1. it is so easy to assemble one could do it in the dark (I did not, but it is a possibility); 2. it has a strong base and remains fixed and stable, once in place; 3. a plastic spiral tube--an ingenious simple addition--prevents the metal base from damaging your bicycle; 4. it leaves enough space for the cords of the breaks; 5. it is strong and sturdy, yet lightweight and easy to carry; 6. it is also of very good size, not very wide but deep enough, so it fits surprisingly many things; 7. it is very easy to lock and unlock, using a smart simple mechanism. In other words, this is a fantastic product. One caveat: the handle is thin so do not plan to carry around three gallons of milk in it or your fingers will hurt. Also, plan where to put your lights as this will block it (but who goes for groceries at night). Finally, this basket is medium-sized so it will not fit your weekly supply of groceries, however it will do a great job in combination with a backpack (and IMHO better than panniers and similar, which you cannot see flapping behind you or getting into your wheels). Also a great place to put your bicycle gear, a sweater, a water bottle or anything else. I was carrying some fruit today and it felt awesome to be able to pick grapes while waiting for a traffic light :)

Basket doesn’t match Hanger
Like others have written, I got the wrong hanger for the basket or visa versa. Wald needs to correct this issue. I ordered the other Wald style that should match up the basket to this hanger and will see if it all jives before returning this one. Amazon returns wouldn’t let me exchange for the same product which is something they need to look at as well. Otherwise I am happy with the quality and think it will work on my Trek Comfort Cycle.

I love these and have used them for years!
Pros: These are great. They are sized for a paper grocery bag and also do well with a fabric reusable bag. They also fit most 6-pack sized coolers. I like being able to lift the handle and walk away with them. The part that remains attached to the bike installs without tools. Since it is wire it is more aerodynamic than wicker or plastic baskets. A headlight can easily be made by zip tieing a small flashlight to the bars on one side (inside) or the bottom. It shines right through the bars. Cons: They will rust in time but that just gives you an opportunity to make them any color that you like with any spray can rust paint. The bracket will wear a groove in your frame unless you cover it with a bit of plastic or rubber tubing before you put it on. No problem. The lift off feature that makes it so great also works for thieves. Just pull upward and the entire mount detaches from the bike. Many people like to secure it in some way. I don't worry. Get one. You will love it.

Works for me.
Just what I was looking for. Easy to get on and off. I just lock it to my bike frame with my bike lock if I'm not taking it with me. Nice to take into the store when shopping. Holds about 1 bag of groceries. Like any basket, need to be careful of weight while riding.

Cheap and functional
For years, I thought I'd look cool and skip putting baskets on my bike. Now that I'm no longer concerned, I have the say that this is one of the best things you can get if you have to carry stuff. The reason for 4 stars is that with the single handle, it kind of digs into your hands if you have to carry it around a bit. If you plan on doing that, get one with two handles as that seems to be more comfortable.
