EASY TO INSTALL -WORKS GREAT AND PROVIDES SAFETY

I bought two sets of these lights to install on both of my kids' bikes, my wife's bike and mine. We moved to England over a year ago and there is a heavy bicycle riding culture here. I purchased all new mountain bikes when I found out I had orders to the UK for three years, but I didn't appreciate that we would be riding them as much as we are. In the winter the sun sets around 3:30-4:00 so it is really dark when my kids get home from school. These little lights make a huge difference giving both visibility and safety to my kids when they are riding around. They slide/snap on easily once you mount the ring onto the seat post and handle bars so you don't have to worry about them getting stolen or damaged if you need to remove them. The LED lights are visible for a long distance which is why I like them. I tested this out when I first installed them on my son's bike and I could see his headlight over 300 yards away in the dark on a straight road and his taillights were visible for about twice that distance. They don't put off light like an automobile headlights so don't buy them thinking you are getting a 40 foot swath of brightness when you ride. They do, however, provide enough light that you can see the immediate area in front of you which is important if you are riding a trail in the dark. Most serious night riders will also have a head-mounted halogen light or a larger light for their bikes and won't be looking at this product anyway. Buy with confidence that these little lights work great and will keep you and your family safe and visible. Happy riding! Mike

Extremely bright. Strongly recommend.

Firstly, this light is extremely bright, which was my principal concern when ordering a bike light. I can note the full reflection of the light in street signs 75 - 100 yards away, so I can only imagine what it looks like to an oncoming vehicle. I guess I didn't read the product description very well before I purchased, but I was pleasantly surprised by the illuminated ring around the side of the light which improves your lateral visibility. Once the four AA batteries are installed, the light feels very solid. The included clip connects to your bike with a thumbscrew, and the light can snap on and off of that clip easily, which is convenient for when I leave my bike chained. My only complaint -- and this is a very, very minor one -- is that when turning the light on, the light goes into strobe mode first. Clicking the button again changes the mode to a slower blinking mode, and finally after clicking a third time the light will be on continuously. It caught me off guard the first two or three times I turned the light on, especially because the strobe is almost nauseatingly bright, but once I learned to expect it it was no longer an issue. Perhaps this is the way all bike lights work -- I don't know -- but I would have expected the mode cycle to be the other way around. I originally purchased this set for the headlight only as I already had a taillight on my bike, but I was more impressed with the brightness of this taillight so I switched the two. I also use the light to walk or run around the neighborhood at night, as it is lightweight. In summary, if you want to be seen as much as possible by spending the least amount of money possible, I would strongly recommend this light.

Good, but you have to be clever to make it work.

This lighting system is better than nothing. Unfortunately, the headlight is tricky to operate. The switch doesn't work too well, and I had to stuff a piece of paper towel into the bottom to raise the battery unit high enough to make contact. I can turn it on via the switch, but must rotate the headlight cap (like I wanted to take the batteries out) to turn it off. That said, it runs on AAA's, so you won't go broke buying some specialty battery for it. The taillight is totally problem free, and has multiple settings, flashing, strobing, reverse strobing, and constant on. This to me is far more important that a great headlight. I need a light for being seen, not so much for seeing. A bright headlight is fine if it'll just stay on, but a dynamic rear light will make me ten times more visible from behind which is where I can't see so well. Both lights are detachable, but I do not intend to use them as such. Why buy a bike light that's not going to stay on the bike? If I were to buy this kit again, I wouldn't buy it again because of the glitches in the headlight. If I already had a good headlight, I'd pick this one up as the taillight is superb! I am planning to purchase a headlight alone to go with this headlight, as I am not so sure a good bump wouldn't have it go out. I have little faith in the headlight. On another note, both lights are bright, the rear light casts a red glow fifteen feet behind the bike. A motorist would need to be both blind and distracted to miss seeing me.

It was perfect and safe

This light kit is a bargain for the price. The mounting brackets are plastic and delicate, but are well made and placed with care, do their job perfectly. In my case the seat tube is very thick and clamp stay open, I secured it with a steel wire and then apply epoxy glue. It was perfect and safe. The red light stop is of very good quality and very enlightening, has two of its five LEDs placed on the sides which makes side visible red light on my bike. The front light is delicate construction but shines very well and can tell the way the holes and objects well in advance due to the power of the light beam to focus it forward. I tried it on a night out on streets in total darkness. I must emphasize that you must install the light kit carefully and do not overtighten the screws, then you can secure the clamps with a small amount of glue. As a final note I tell them that in my country bike lights sold Chinese origin, who despite being expensive the quality is much lower than these lights Ventura. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good, but missing features

The quality is a bit flimsy, but the functionality is good. The lamp-set comes with rubber-sealings for water/moisture-protection, but I'm in doubt that they'll actually work. The front lamp is missing an adjustable lens for focusing the beam. The different light-settings (running lights) seems to be working fine, and all in all, it's a good product for it's price. If I should by new lights for my bike in the future, I will properbly look around for something else though.

Pas très étanches

Produit correct, mais pas très étanche à l'usage. Sur trois commandé deux à l'arrière de nos vélos sont HS car l'humidité est rentrer dedans et ceci en moins de deux mois d'usage. Pour ce qui est de là luminosité, c'est. Ordre y et ça éclaire bien. Au niveau pile la durée est bonne.

Je cherchais un set d'éclairage pour mon VTT et je dois dire que celui-ci est parfait. Le feu arrière éclaire effectivement beaucoup et il est donc visible de très loin. Le feu avant n'est pas en reste et permet un très bon éclairage dans le noir. Installation simple et facile, les piles sont fournies. Je recommande

Front and rear cycle lights

Easy to fit. The front light has several lighting options. The rear light on/off switch is fiddly, especially in the dark (when you want it). Good value for money and do the job.
