Great for any child fascinated with marbles

I'm surprised this didn't get better ratings. I've read a good portion of the reviews before buying and wasn't impressed, but decided to buy it anyway since it was priced good Well I'm glad we got it! My son loves it and I do too it's very similar to the one I had as a child. It took awhile to set up as the instructions even though they are simple to follow it gets a little complicated building it to make sure that all the marbles go down every tube My child is 6 yrs old and can easily put the pieces together himself the way he wants to make it, as far as creating the true picture on box he needed an adult to help The pieces are a tad harder to put together you just need to snap them in place and they stay put no falling apart, my child has not had any issues assembling the pieces After its assembled it stands on its own and is pretty sturdy and won't tip while they are playing One thing that is a bummer is you can't use regular marbles as they get stuck in the holes I mean you can play with the regular marbles on some of it, but best play is with the plastic marbles that are included. My child loves playing with marbles and so this playset has been a big hit! Even the older kids like it :) Would recommend this marble set for any child 5 and up I rated it 4* due to the fact at times the pieces are hard to unattached at times and wish you could use the glass marbles with it, other than that it's a fun set and totally worth it for the price being under $10

Fun toy but not appropriate for preschool age children due to difficulty of assembly

When I ordered this activity, it says three years up. I am a preschool teacher and this requires an engineers mind and the patience of Jobe to assemble.It is cool once it's built, but I would say it is probably really for about 8 up. Many small marbles included which are nice, but could be a choking hazard to small child. I bought a heavier duty one a for about half the price at Target a few years ago and it is very popular, so I thought I would get something similar so the children didn't have to wait to use the first set. Now I spend my afternoons building this for them because it is so complicated and frustrating for them to put together., I had to color code the assembly page with the colors of the pieces of the box so they could look at the picture and TRY to build it like the one on the box. It mostly just helps me build it for them. If you had a place to leave it set up, it is neat to watch and play with, but it is NOT very sturdy and will fall apart easily if not handled very carefully, which isn't a realistic expectation for a child.

Plastic is very cheap. Cracks easily. Marbles pop off the track.

Bought for my grandson. I didn’t like it because the plastic wasn’t heavy duty and it cracks easily.

This is a good product for the child who builds things on a regular basis (Legos, lincoln logs, etc.). The reason I'm saying this is because the pieces don't slip into each other perfectly or easily. You have to push a bit harder than I would have thought to get them to fit together. My nephew builds a lot of things, and even he had a hard time getting the pieces to fit--and they need to be exact or the marbles don't move and slide down like they are supposed to. If you have a kid who gets frustrated easily, or doesn't like to build things, I would rethink this toy because of the time and effort needed to put everything together. That being said, my nephew loved building with this. We spent hours playing with it. Sometimes his creations were so tall I had to hold it up, but it was his creativity that made it fun (I even built a few things). So if you have a builder in the family, I would definitely suggest this.

Quantity, NOT Quality!

Thin plastic material that seem like they will break the more it is used. The marbles are not really marbles but more like colored plastic balls. The pieces don't come assembled (meaning you have to build the individual pieces before you start constructing the tower). I owned a set like this when I was 5 years old (now 37) and still own it. This set is far less superior and I know that my son who is five, won't still have this set when he's 37. I give it 3 stars for the quantity of pieces (much more than the other companies offer). The price was substantially lower than others, which explains the lack of quality). The colors used and nice and vibrant. I would not recommend this set. Spend the extra few dollars and get a better quality item.

Great for the price

I got this to use with my 1 year old son. He loves it. The plastic is not the sturdiest type, so the pieces are brittle. That being said, I’m using it with my son, so it’s holding up fine. It uses water too. The marbles are small, but just keep an eye on them going into mouths and it’s fine.

A wonderful toy!

This is truly a great building toy that has the potential to grow with your kids. My 3 and 5 year old boys and I have spent hours building and rebuilding elaborate marble run structures. (I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been known to build structures without them, so I know it will be engaging even for older children!) Very satisfying builds that require some forethought about design and principles of gravity. The materials are a little bit "cheap" - for example, the marbles are plastic with a visible seam (thus not a perfect sphere), but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the game. Nothing has broken after over a month of vigorous play. A great value. I'm so relieved I didn't spring for one of the more expensive competitors.

Not 80 Pieces

It says multiple times in the description that it comes with 80 pieces AND 30 marbles but they count the marbles as part of the 80 pieces. So needless to say it's not what is advertised. You get 50 plastic pieces, 30 of which are straight connectors and 30 marbles. Do not buy this product.
