Very nice playpen
We got this to use as a playpen for our toddler and we hard mounted it into the wall and used this to section off a corner of our room for him to safely play and it is perfect and looks so nice! It is extremely sturdy and doesn’t budge despite him using it to pull up to stand. I researched so many different types of play pens and even ones similar to this one and this one has by far exceeded our expectations. We also ordered a floor mat that fit perfectly in the pen and looks great

Good for Small Pets Too
We bought this product not for children but to contain 3 smaller dogs (all under 25 lbs) in one part of the house and it works perfectly for our needs. I only attached one end to the wall with the other end going behind a couch against the wall. None of our dogs can jump the fence/gate so it works out fine. Do have a large lab that visits on occasion and he just ignores it. Goes over it with ease. So if you need to restrain small dogs, or maybe a tortoise, this works fine, and it's held up well, had it now about 2 years. The color is very neutral as well. Oh yeah, healthy cats will go over it with ease, also.

Perfect gate for large spaces
We're using this gate to keep our dog in the kitchen and it's perfect for her. Just the right height to keep her from jumping over, the gate is easy and swings shut behind you, and the material is quality. It was also easy to install. We're very happy with this product.

So good we bought two!
This baby gate/pen system was so easy to use and perfect for our home that we ended up buying two to enclose all of our living room while our baby was learning to crawl. Now that our baby has grown into a toddler we dismantled and rearranged the pieces to encompass only our fire place and block off access to our eldest child’s room. The lack of horizontal poles or squares like most baby gates have makes it more difficult for our tot to climb up and over, which is a definite plus. Overall, I highly recommend.

Great Gate/Fence!
I love this gate/fence system. I purchased another one that was plastic and it did not live up to my expectations despite the good reviews - so back it went. This is VERY sturdy. I have two that I connected to make a larger play area for my daughter, but I currently have them separated with her toy boxes and an ottoman as the "connection" between the gates. One set has 5 panels and the other has 7 panels (the 5 panels in a line is a little easy for her to move/knock over, I recommend having at least 6 if it is going to be in a line formation). Eventually she will be able to move it so I will then connect one end together and only have the opening where the toy boxes are (until she learns to climb over the toy boxes I guess!). Provided she isn't too tired or fussy, she will play in there by herself for up to an hour or more allowing me to get some chores done and I never worry about her getting out - although I don't think I am brave enough to go take a shower or something and leave her alone in there for 15-20 minutes without checking on her. She is 14 months old and can't quite walk yet, but she pulls up on the rails/slats and walks along the fence. Here's kind of a break down of the different things I was looking for in a gate/fence system: Simple Connection - Because we have such a large living room, I knew I'd need more than one gate to enclose the entire space. Connecting two or more together is so easy! The plastic one we got first you had to bend (top to bottom, like in half almost) in order to separate the panels to change the number of panels or add a panel/extension. It was already warped out of the box, like someone else had already had it and tried to bend it to adjust the panels, or maybe it is manufactured like that. This one is so simple with the connectors that loosen and tighten and just pull down on it to separate and the panels come apart so easily - but not so easily that a baby/toddler would be able to pull down the slat to remove it and separate the panels, it requires a little bit of muscle to pull the connector slat down and out. Being able to connect multiple gates was very important to me. Sturdiness - The system is very sturdy, which is also important. My sister often will sit on it (like sitting on the edge of the couch or something, but on the fence rail) and it hasn't ever buckled under her weight (although it always makes me nervous when she sits on it) and she will balance on it with both feet off the floor. Granted, she doesn't weight a LOT, but she's still a full grown adult! Climbing prevention - Climbing is another issue I was concerned about-I don't think my daughter will be able to climb this one because of the vertical slats. She puts her feet through the slats like she wants to climb, but since there aren't any horizontal slats, I don't think she'd be able to get a foothold to initiate lifting herself over. Play area - The only downside is the size of the play area of just one by itself. Maybe I am spoiling my child, but I want her to be able to have as much play area as possible, I mean, we have a huge living room, so we might as well use it all! We currently have two connected and I plan on getting another one so that I can make a little bit larger area and have a rocking chair in there so when my new baby arrives in a couple of weeks I can be in there with her when she isn't feeling like playing alone. Weight - It is a little heavy, especially with two of them together, but if you want something sturdy, it is going to have a little weight to it. It is light enough that (when I'm not pregnant) I could lift it into the car and take it with me, but I'd have to separate the two and carry them separately if I wanted to bring both. Height - this one is 29 inches tall, which is taller than some of the other ones out there. I think that will also help to prevent the climbing. Gate - the gate is simple enough that I can open it with one hand (press down the button with the thumb and lift the gate at the same time to open), but complicated enough that I don't think my daughter will be able to figure it out anytime soon. The gate opening itself isn't very wide, 14 inches from the inside of the hinge to the inside of the latch (15 inches from the two inside slats), but it isn't like it is in a doorway where I'd be in and out of it all the time carrying laundry or other stuff and need a wider opening. Once I am in there, I usually stay in for a while with my daughter. Also, the gate has an automatic close feature as long as it isn't opened all the way it will swing closed and latch. Price - the other downside is the cost. It isn't one of the cheapest gate/fences out there. Ranges from $100-$120 on amazon, but qualifies for free shipping and of course no tax, so that is nice. The other one I got (the plastic one) was around $60, so for me, all of the pros of this one definitely outweighed the con of the price. That is all I can think of at the moment! Hope it helps!

Mommy Sanity Saver, A few creative solutions make an awesome 8X10 play yard.
We have all porcelain tile floors. Our first toddler surprised us by banging her head on the hard floors intentionally when she was upset. That was before we knew there were protective foam head helmets available. It was traumatizing as a first time parent who had helped care for 4 younger siblings and never observed this behavior. She is safely older now and reads 2+ grade levels ahead of her age, so thankfully no permanent damage was incurred. However, with the gift of our new baby 6 years later, I decided to take no chances that she too might like to head-bang on the tile. I went about finding a solution that would allow our baby to have play and explorative freedom, while allowing me to safely do laundry, start meals, and accomplish computer work between spending time with the girls. Searching Amazon for gates options with Prime shipping, I first saw the North States plastic play fences made in the USA (and bought one is those in pink for outside and portable play) and then the other brand of metal baby fences sold on Amazon that are white and may be made in Mexico. After reading many other reviews, and watching videos on you-tube, I chose the North States superyard for its off-white/ pale taupe sand color, it's anticipated durability based on other reviews, and their Prime shipping availability at a fair (IE- non-inflated) Prime cost. To create a play area that would last several years as baby develops, I decided to go with an 8X10 foot design based on standard rug sizes. To ensure the play area would protect our daughter during falls as she learned to stand, walk and tumble, I ordered two 2" thick 4' wide X 10' long gymnastics mats with Velcro sides from Amazon Prime. They fit together perfectly to make an 8X10 base safe for falling. I then searched for a lightweight, non skid rug to go on top of the vinyl covered gymnastics mats, so the area would be pretty and soft for crawling. It took 4 full sets of the gates as sold on Amazon + 2 sets of extension panels to make an perfect 8X10 play-yard. If you have 1-2 free walls to attach to, you could accomplish the same play space with perhaps 2 sets + 1 set of extension panels. Be sure to measure first . From support to support, each non-gated panel and each gated panel is approximately 24" wide. We do not have any available walls, so it required far more investment in the fence/ gates. A tip that "Wally World" aka WalMart sells a bundle of the fence with gate + 2 extension panels for less that shipped and arrived within a week. I bought some of my North States gates from Amazon and some from WalMart. They are identical. The completed 8X10' play-yard with 2 entry gates required 18 panels total including the 2 gates. 4 panels along each 8' end, and 5 panels along each 10' side. It has plenty of room for my husband, myself and our 7 year daughter to all be in the play area with baby at the same time. My husband has found that with the gymnastics mats beneath and the rug on top, it's a nice place for him to nap while baby plays. Our daughter loves spending time in the cheerful area to play with her baby sister. Creating an 8X10' play-yard with the North States fences/ gates (the metal ones are sadly made in China rather than USA) + gymnastics mats + Glamour rug (from Amazon it's more of a thin mat which I'll review separately) was quite an investment. However, given that our whole family is enjoying playing in the area as baby learns to spread her wings, that baby will be able to play in it through at last age 3 without her head ever coming in contact with our tile, it's an investment I feel great about. The construction of the fences/ gates feel sturdy and the pale taupe (sand) color is attractive in our main living area. My husband put the 4 sections of fence together in a short amount of time he says it's not that easy to rearrange the gate placement once it's together, so you may want to plan that out before installation. So if you're a working at home Mom or Dad, have multiple young children with a full day of home care, hard floors, or all of the above...... Perhaps my 8 X 10 play area solution will be an helpful sfor your family too.

Solid metal yard
Very sturdy and safe, great product. Good for young ones who want to grab onto the rail and stand up. It’s great that this is 8 sided, just the right size. Saves the hassle of getting a 6 sided and waiting for 2 piece extension.
