BEST BABY PURCHASE FOR PAST 5 YEARS!!! WE OWN 4 SETS + 2 EXTENSIONS! GREAT SOLUTION!!!

We love this METAL SUPERYARD. It is very well designed. WE OWN FOUR SETS + EXTENSION and bought the first set 5 years ago :D PROS: 1. THOUGHTFUL DESIGN: There are NO FOOTHOLDS for little feet to climb, unlike the many plastic superyards that have little holes or places where little hands and feet can easily scoot up (and OVER!) the yard. 2. QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: The construction is of much better quality than plastic ones (even their own brand) and other metal superyards. 3. EASE OF USE: The setup and break-down is very easy, once you get used to it. We have to remove ours & put back once a month, every month, for our home cleaning service. 4. VERSATILE: There are so many uses for these sets. We use 2 sets as a Full (bed size) Lounge/Play Pen where my husband of I lay down with the little ones when we need rest, but they still want to play. Friends who visit are in awe of our simple, but highly effective solution. They wish they'd thought of it when their kids were young :D LOL 5. PROTECTIVE: We also use 2 sets to block off sections of danger areas with electric cords and bookcases (we have a very active climber who likes to get on top of high stuff). CONS: 1. PRICE: These metal superyards are easily 2x's the price of the plastic ones. In our opinion, they're worth it but we understand it's clearly not as affordable so the price is a con. 2. DOORS: The doors, the ONLY doors, that are available with these metal superyards by North State are sturdy BUT NARROW. Why doesn't NS make a gate door wide enough for an average person? I'm a petite Asian woman and I barely fit through unless I am walking stick straight. When I'm holding my kids, I always have to be extra careful that their legs don't hit the gate when we pass through. Overall, despite the 2 cons, there is no better choice than this North State Metal Superyard.

Wonderful- just wish it came with extra hardware

We ordered the 3 in one superyard plus this extension to section of a large part of our living room for our twins to play. It's very simple to add it on to the super-yard: no tools required. The only issue I have with the extension set is that it DOES NOT COME WITH EXTRA HARDWARE for attaching it to the wall, which you will need if: 1. You're using an odd number of panels in the wall-attached configuration and you want the option of easily converting it back to a stand alone enclosure 2. You're using extension parts alone to block off access to an area where a gate is not needed To explain: We only needed 1 of the 2 extension panels to fit our space, and were able to swap parts around on the wall attachment hardware to make it work. There's a great review about how to do this under the 3 in 1 superyard product page in which the reviewer described a fix that won't require you to buy extra parts. We've now purchased another 2-panel extension to use with our "leftover" panel to block off access to our gas fireplace. If you want to use the extension, as we do, to block of an area you don't need gate access to, you will need to buy the wall-atachment hardware from the manufacturer: they have a nice webpage where you can select the parts you need... but it would be much easier if the parts just came with it... or if you could buy them from amazon.

Must have play yard! The extension is great!

I have a super active 11 month old who was getting into everything...the plants, the soil, picture frames, the fireplace, the wine rack, the toilet-- everything! My husband and I have a lot of sq footage and didn't want to drill tons of holes putting up gates everywhere. I bought this play yard to provide a safe play space for baby to play in while I cook, run to the bathroom, do some cleaning, etc. The play yard comes with 6 panels and is fine as is, but a bit small. Amazingly, my son happily played in it as is, but I felt like it was really confining. The extensions made the play yard a perfect size. There's plenty of room for toys and for baby to comfortably move around. The play yard is sturdy and he can't move it (yet) on his own. It's strong and heavy, so hopefully-- he'll never be able to move it. And, he tries. Oh, and we have it on our new hardwoods...love the rubber bottom that keeps it from scratching and gives extra traction so the play yard stays put. We haven't had to drill holes into the walls, and I have a bit of freedom to move about the house while baby happily and SAFELY plays. Get the 3 in 1, and if you have the space, get the extension. It's peace of mind and well worth the $$.

Not the full set, but fits perfect

These add on panels for great and were exactly what I needed. Don't think it's the whole gate, it's just an additional 2 panels.

Turns the playpen into a play-yard

I use this extender in conjunction with theNorth States 3 in 1 Metal Superyard - 3 Gates in 1 . The Superyard is great in that it is sturdy, neat, safe, and easy to set up. It is, however, very small if you just have the six-sided hexagonal starter kit. The extension was well worth the extra investment. It took the playpen and made it a play-yard. Now it's big enough that I can get in and sit down with my daughter, and big enough to put more than one baby in at once. The original superyard was really only about as big as Elsie's crib, but with the two extra sides, it feels much, much bigger. I have mine set up as a square, two panels per side. I recommend the whole kit and caboodle. It's just wonderful to have somewhere to set my daughter while I'm cooking or doing laundry or going to the bathroom. Nice to know she can't go getting stuck under the couch or teething on wires or falling down stairs or whatever other trouble she might get into in 30 seconds while I have my back turned. My only wish is that this extender had a gate piece in it so that I could have easy access to the inside from both ends. No big deal, though.
