Much better than expected

Let me start by saying, I am a REAL fisherman, I fish salt water in Florida usually out of my kayak and the reels get wet and dunked on occasion. I have 6 Tica reels now. The brand is marketed terribly in the US and very little distribution. I was expecting very little by the 2 piece frame as compared to there usual 3 piece design. The bail is super strong and solid, flips over hard! If you hold the rotor and rock the reel handle it has like no slop, very tight. It has a very low gear ratio which is what I want for salt water cranking power. I had a Galant that was making noise once, took it apart, didn't see a problem. Re greased it and it has been fine. Definitely get this reel instead of other pretty no name reels. I would compare this to a Okuma reel which I think is the best value in budget fishing. Easy to work on. If you need parts you have to contact the US support team. I got one reel missing parts and they were friendly and shipped quickly. I give it a 4 only because this model has composite body but most others are all aluminum and I have not fished it long enough to tell about durability. Personally I have no problem w zinc (pot metal) gears as there cheap to replace. I had a Penn clash the was hard to reel and it's $50 for there GNC or CNG "precision cut" replacement gear. Never again will I buy Penn. Oh yea, this reel has 5 drag washers that look like a white carbon fiber, should be very smooth.
