Works great

This stuff works exactly as advertised. Once you heat it, it also turns clear so you don’t see it through the hem. I used it to hem a bunch of curtains, some thick linen and some fine gauzy type curtains. I used the 3/4 inch for thicker materials and 3/8 for the delicate fabrics and both worked great. I don’t know how to use a sewing machine so I was thrilled this product exists!

Meh

I'm not a fan of ironing, but i deplore sewing even more. This stuff took many presses with the iron, was left to cool for a length of time an be still lost adhesion in spots. ESPECIALLY after washing. This was on polyester/cotton blend being nursing scrubs. Washing is NOT optional and drying isn't either. I may have to reapply and see how the second round does. May give up on it if it fails me after the next washing. I have no time to keep reapplying once a week or more. I'll just dog out the sewing machine and bribe the hubby.

This is the coolest invention I've ever seen! My son split 2 of his pants down the seam, and voila! It's was fixed! Now let's see if it will hold up. Update: I'm not sure if it's meant for active use. It didn't hold up on one. My son split one of his pants again. But, the other one is staying together nicely, though.

Slick! I don't sew, so ironing was a splendid option for me

I used this for shortening some pink dress slacks. After reading reviews and other tips, I decided to use a teflon sheet between the iron and pants to avoid potentially damaging the fabric ( I ordered this from Amazon: 3 Pack PTFE Teflon Sheet for Heat Press Transfer Sheet Non Stick 16 x 20" Heat Transfer Paper Reusable Heat Resistant Craft Mat). After ironing the fold where I wanted (without the teflon sheet), I turned the pants inside-out and ironed (again without the teflon sheet) again BEFORE using the Hem Tape with the teflon sheet between the iron and pants. Immediate bond and has held through some washes so far!

Not strong enough for weight-bearing pocket

I was hoping to use this to attach a microfiber pocket to the inside of a modal jacket, but the tape is too thin and weak. I tried the regular since that was recommended for lighter materials, but it did a poor job of holding. The stronger tape is wider and had a slightly better hold, but ultimately I had to sew my pocket to hold it on. That said, I was glad I had a light adhesive to hold the pocket in place while sewing, so it wasn't a total waste.

Life Saver Hem

My dress ended up being to long, I was able to get this product to get the job done quickly. The bond held up and took no time to set. Definitely will use again in the future.

Sticks well but is stiff.

I used this to hem a thin cotton dress. This product is the one meant for thinner fabrics and while it does effectively hem the fabric, the final hem created is much thicker and stiffer than expected as the tape seems quite thin. I think it would be good for pants or straight skirts with a stiffer fabric but not so good for my thin coHtton summer dress where I want the hem to be soft. I hope and I can remove it and sew it instead if it does not look good when worn.

Good quality!

I used this tape to hem my curtains and worked lovely! My new curtains for my living room were way too long and I didn't want to cut them, so I decided to use this tape to just stick them together. It was a bit of work to get the length and level right, but it all worked out great in the end. All you need is an iron and an ironing table (I used a table with a towel on top).

Effective!

This is a waaaaay cheaper method than getting pants hemmed for twenty bucks at a local tailor. Very happy with how easy it was to apply and for how well it is holding up! I will say that it is a little tricky to place it all the way around the pant leg without it twisting/rolling over itself - I also found this one to be a bit thin for chinos (I ended up doing two loops right beside each other). I would definitely recommend this product/brand but get wider than 3/8 for chinos!

Not the same tape as the pictures

The images for the product are not for this kind of hem tape. The images are for a very thin web-type hem tape (which was that I wanted), and the one that I received is for the thick hem tape. Very disappointing that they’re not using the right images.
