Does what it says but read the description!

Powerful little trimmer. The line is easy to feed and re-spool but you won't need to do that to often. Drawbacks are, you cannot adjust the length of it or the handle. And the engine is at the cutting end so you will feel the weight of it if you're using it for any length of time. Overall good purchase for the money.

The modern world offers many opportunities to buy cheap Chinese crap. Having sampled much of it even what was previously considered the low-end option (like B&D) offers a superior product.

Good budget weedeater!

This was easy to setup and is a good budget weedeater! It works well if you don't overdo it- this thing isn't a gas powered monster that's going to cut thru a thick jungle or run for hours. This electric weedeater will handle lighter duty use and is really ideal for smaller yards. Use it on large yards or for too long and it'll burn it up. That being said- it works well and seems well made.

Short handle

I like the idea of an electric string trimmer, but this one was frustrating to use. Cords are cheaper than batteries, but really limit their use, or at least make them less convenient. This can rotate the head to use it as an edger, but it doesn't really work. Edgers need a blade, not a string, to be effective. But the biggest issue is that the handle is so short. There's no way to extend it and it forces you to hunch over while using it. Really did not like it.

Not very user friendly for a beginner but gets the job done

The media could not be loaded. I am reviewing this trimmer as someone who has never used landscaping tools before and who doesn't have a yard that needs a lot of maintenance. My goal is to keep the weeds and grass short enough so that I can spray them with weed killer and keep the HOA happy. Since I don't have a large area of landscaping I was tired of paying someone else to do the yardwork and thought I'd try using this BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer. I thought it would be pretty self explanatory to use but it really wasn't. This can be a dangerous tool if not used right and I was hoping for a little more actual instruction from the instruction book. The book only listed illustrations and numbers that correspond to the name of the part, but no actual instruction for how to set it up or how to use it in different situations. Do I need to adjust the wire? How do I know when to trim it? What position should it be in when trimming from the top down vs. the side? When would I want to rotate the handle? None of these questions were answered. I came back to the Amazon listing hoping I'd find a video tutorial but that wasn't available. I eventually did figure it out (I think) and I am happy with the results. I got my grass short enough to spray it with weed killer. I still don't feel very confident using this but I am going to look at other sites for tips and better instructions. In the end, it did what I wanted it to but I had to put in some extra work to figure it out. If you are experienced with lawn care tools and have a small space, you'll probably be really happy with it.

Awesome trimmer for the price point.

BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer, 13-Inch, 4 Amp (BEST935)- For the price, you can’t beat this listing. I’ll admit the corded aspect can make this a little more burdensome to use than the battery or gas trimmers but it works well. The trimmer actually has a lot more power than I would have expected for an electric-powered weed whacker. Right out of the box this is pretty much ready to use. It has a couple of quick steps but it’s almost ‘plug and trim’. I opened the box, snapped the neckpiece into the handle, and checked the trimmer cord. After that, it was just a matter of grabbing an extension cord. I don’t have a huge area of lawn that requires trimming so this works perfectly for my yard. If I had a large yard I wouldn’t use this product because it’s just not practical for that. You have to have a short enough distance that outlets are readily accessible. Compared to other trimmers I’ve used (electric and gas) this is among the lightest weight I’ve tried. The cord guard does a decent job of keeping the grass cuttings from getting on me. I do like how simple they made it to extend the cord as it wears. That’s always been my issue with trimmers. The cord will get tangled or I’ll have trouble changing it. It’s usually the reason I end up not doing the trimming myself as foolish as that sounds. This one is very easy to change the cord and make length adjustments. The only hassle I had with this was the extension cord coming unplugged a couple of times. Outside of that for a cheap trimmer again I don’t think there’s much better on the market at this price. It’s been reliable, does what I need to do, and it’s easy to use. I can’t say it’s the best trimmer out there I’ve used better ones but they were far more expensive. This is the best I’ve tried anywhere close to this price. I would get another of these if this one stops working because it’s not a huge investment and is perfect for the small area I need it for.
