Really a good tool for its intended use
This is a great tool for its intended use -- clearing snow immediately after a snowfall. Works great for us in the foothills of the Cascades where we can keep up with the snow. We've had consistent snowfall for the last ten days, and I go out in the morning and clear up around 6" of snow each time. Takes about 15 minutes to do my driveway and sidewalks. The engine is electric (powered by an extension cord), so it's quiet and powerful enough for the machine. I was able to run it in the morning and none of my neighbors heard it. Quieter than a leaf blower, and way quieter than a gas-powered blower. I'd compared it to being about as noisy as an electric hair dryer. It doesn't do as well for higher amounts of snow. I think it says it can do up to 10", but that would be for light, dry, and cold snow. And I would not want to try it to get rid of snow that's turned to ice - I fear the blades might crack. Assembling it wasn't difficult, but a few pieces were confusing - the middle handle (lower part) has a cord securing device or dongle that has to face a certain way, and neither the illustrations nor the directions mentioned that. So I had to disassemble it and redo it -- but it wasn't hard to do. Also, the handle that moves the direction of the "spout" has to go into the machine deeper than you realize - there's a rubber sleeve somewhere inside the machine that the handle goes through that doesn't seem to want to accept the handle, so you have to really push it, which is scary if you think you might break something. The blades of the rotary "wheel" are plastic, but for light- to medium-duty, they're fine. It gets the snow off down to the pavement of my smooth sidewalks, and right close to the surface of my textured driveway. This probably won't work on a graveled driveway or a driveway that has a deeply grooved surface like cobblestone, but it seems to work fine on all kinds of materials as long as the surface is hard and somewhat smooth. There are a few downsides. One is its weight. Because it is super light, the temptation is to push it more than you should, slightly elevating the back wheels, and grinding the scraper part of the machine into the pavement/concrete. Which means it stops going forward. Takes practice to not be tempted to push it harder than you need to, and to go slower than you think you can. The other is the way you power it: it needs an extension cord. I find this reasonable because that gives the lighweight and *quiet* engine the power it needs, a good compromise between a battery-powered machine (less power, requires recharging) and a gas-powered machine (more powerful, but usually far, far heavier and more difficult to maneuver and store). But the cord is going to want to travel behind you, which means that every so often you're going to step on. You can try to use the little dongle to secure the cord to the handle, but if you're using a long extension cord (mine is 100'), you're going to need the thicker 12/3 and not the 14/3 cord -- which is too thick for the dongle. Easy enough to just wrap the cord once around the handle, but still -- the cord is going to be there following you. Not a huge thing, but be aware of it. So, over all, really and truly five stars. Works great, lightweight, easy to put together, easy to fold down and stow away. For my use, it's well worth the price.

Bring a rubber ringed device, otherwise it works.
I like that the blower is light weight and handles light snow well. It doesn't handle heavy or packed snow very well, but that was my expectation. First, it should be noted that this runs on a 2 prong ungrounded plug. This isn't a bad thing, but I could have bought lighter extension corda had I known that. Second, and this really bugs me, is that the power button isn't water resistant. I would have given the product 5 stars if not for this oversight. This is an awful failure in engineering that can be remedied by simply adding a small lip to the button's flange and a rubber cot over it. For those of us outside of the engineer's immediate vicinity, buy a cheap adult prophylactic and put it over the button, or wrap the whole button assembly in plastic wrap.

Worth every penny!
For the last two Winters I have been snowed in heavily living in Upstate New York. Once I was snowed in for a basic normal forefoot snowfall for 5 days because I couldn't shovel the heavy snow, and no Neighbors in my area are actually neighborly. Now that every located to a larger home with a longer area to shovel as well as a long driveway I knew I needed a snow blower but I don't have snow blower money and I came across this.. let me tell you I got a put sidewalk done and a half an hour. This little thing is mighty! My 7-year-old also knows how to use it now and he fights with my 14-year-old over who gets to shovel with the snow shovel! I will say what save money on this is the fact that it's needs to have an extension cord so I would definitely invest in extremely long outdoor extension cord that you would keep with it. In my opinion spending $30 on a good cord is way less expensive than having to spend an additional $200 for a built-in cord! The last snowfall that came my kids made 140 bucks by going around to the neighborhood and snow shoveling for $10 or 20 bucks depending on the size of the area needing to be shoveled. having one available for the Elder family member who needs a little bit of help but still insists on doing everything themselves and then he saw Karen titoff seems like a great idea to me and it's so inexpensive it's definitely going to be early Christmas gifts next year!

Handles a few inches of snow well
I have been able to use this a couple times in the last two weeks. The first time we had about 5" of snow on the ground. It struggled but was able to clear it (or maybe it was user issues and I have never used a snowblower before). Today was second time using it and there was about 2 inches on the ground. It handled it like a champ which leads me to believe that maybe under 5" is the sweet spot for this machine. It is easy to assemble, lightweight and does a decent job. Make sure to secure the wire around the handle or something to keep it from unplugging in the middle of the task. It is not as powerful as a gas powered one that a neighbor has, but that is a beast - loud, very heavy and hard to control. This one works great in that it's able to get the job done without being too hard to manage physically. It can tackle little bit of ice but larger chunks (left by snowplow at the end of the driveway) will damage the plastic blade. I docked a point because even though the lights come on upon starting the machine they don't stay on and flicker wildly when it is actually chucking snow. Have reached out to customer service for this and will update on what happens.

Lightweight Snow Shovel
Needed something to speed up our driveway snow removal in Minnesota. Definitely better in light weight snow. Our driveway had some ice build up which it didnt like and make maneuvering a bit challenging. Had some issues with the electric connection with the extension cord, but still pleased with the purchase.

Unsuitable for use in the UK
I cannot begin to explain just how excited I was at the prospect of operating this 'snow thrower' over the winter months here in the UK. Imagine my disappointment when it arrived with a US plug requiring 120V supply. That would have meant me spending an additional £60 at least to purchase an adapter with extension lead to convert it to UK usage. This took the item way over budget for me, and I had no choice but to return it. Thinking I must have made a mistake at time of ordering, I double checked all the specifications on the UK Amazon website for this item. Nowhere does it say it comes with US plug or requires 120V supply. This is very poor and, in my opinion, should not have been available for sale on a UK site.

Costs more to ship back than it does to buy
Extremely disappointed because the first one shipped did not work and now I am paying to return it when it was Amazon Prime! So much for meeting expectations.

Don't think twice, you'll love it!
I was in a very bad motorcycle crash at 21 that's left me fairly disabled. Shovelling snow, even small amounts would throw my shoulder out guarantee. Now this shovel is not light, it's pretty heavy at least for me. But, man does it work!!! I cleared my driveway which was deeper than the top of the shovell with ease. Just make sure you break up any snow chunks first, don't want to damage the blades. Any areas that had lots of snow just needed a second pass. I'm glad I didn't have to lift it up to move it, I just drag and push it and it worked great for me. If it ever bites the dust I'll be getting another.

It's OK for light snow
The blower was easy to assemble - just the handle to attach really. Good for clearing paths of about 8 inch deep of powder in a single pass, but wet snow more than 3 or 4 inches deep really causes the motor to bog down. It was necessary to take bites of half the blower width to clear it. Very lightweight, which is good for general maneouverability but means that it just skims over the top of compacted snow without cutting into it. It's the first snowblower I've ever had, so can't compare it to a gas powered or larger one. Overall it was a decent buy and saves much of the manual work.
