3 yrs old, installed new Tines like new
Been a great dethatcher, lasted about 3 years before requiring replacement of Thines, like new again

Looks like what I needed.
Seems like these are thin just hope they are at least as durable as the original ones that came on my dethatcher.

Take the time to learn how to replace them - it's easier than it seems - and when to dethatch
Given the myriad of 1-star reviews, I feel like I need to leave one myself. The replacement tines are exactly what the machine needs, and replacing them take a little patience but is easier than it seems. If you're struggling with it too much, you're probably attacking it sub-optimally. Helpful hints on replacing... collected from a few different YouTube videos and actually doing it myself. Wear good work gloves - slipping is almost inevitable. Once the 2 sets of screws per the housing whose tine you need to replace, use a very thin flat-head screwdriver or a very sturdy blade to separate and pry up the tine housing from the shaft on the non-tab end and only about an inch, max. Don't take it all the way out or you'll struggle to get the housing back in. Lift it up just enough to push the pin though, replace the tine, pop the pin back in, and carefully - with a mallet - push the housing back down and re-secure the screws.

Tines Break Too Easily (also see April 2021 update for new installation tip)
I've had my dethatcher for about 7 years now. The only issue is that these times are a small gauge and break way too easily. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but they are quite difficult to replace. If Greenworks also had available an option for tines in a stronger and heavier gauge metal, I would gladly pay the extra cost. April 2020 update: Just got on Amazon to buy another set of tines. It's been about 2 years since my review. The 9 year old dethatcher still works fine, but just did the lawn and broke about double the number of tines as in previous years. I've now spent almost as much money on tines as on the dethatcher. I suspect that is part of Greenworks strategy. April 2021 Important Update for Installation: Just dethatched again, and only broke 2 tines. I've broken as many as 6 sometimes. I always replace the broken ones right after finished with the yard. Way back I had watched videos on how to do it. It's important to make sure you don't install them backwards. When installing one, look at how the others next to it face. If you get them on backwards, they won't dethatch efficiently, and they will also break much easier. But here is what I did installing them today that I have never done before. I didn't see it in a video, it just came to me, and is much easier. The hardest part of the installing is, after removing the piece holding the tine, to force it back in place afterwards. But here is the trick. When prying out the section that holds the broken tine, don't remove it all the way. Just get it to the point where you can access the hole for the pin. Keep it in that position, remove the pin, replace the old tine with the new one, and insert the pin back. Now when you reseat that black piece holding the tine, it's much easier than if it had been completely removed. Also, there are Greenworks competitors for these tines that are significantly cheaper. I just purchased a set, but have not received them yet. I can't name the brand, but just do a search on "Dethatcher Spring Tines for 29272". Reviews there indicate they fit.

Get the job done
Once properly installed they do an amazing job

Works great, could be stronger.
The product works great pulling up thatch and dead grass. My only complaint is that it takes two sets to complete thatching my lawn on my .47 acre lot because they are all broken up about halfway through. I only use the machine once a year so buying two sets a year is not a big deal.

exactly what i needed them for
Used them on a free reel mower i found at side of the road. Took the cutting blade off of the bottom of the mower and attached these tines at intervals on blades, and secured them with 8mm hose clamps. Lawn dethatcher for 35$ Its a workout though haha but works awesome.
