Just used during blizzard... works well! - UPDATES! UPDATES!
Just used this today, January 23, 2016, during the northeast blizzard, for the first time since I purchased it. I took a chance after seeing some reviews on YouTube and got it on sale for $300 at the end of October, 2015. I live in New York, about 20 miles north east of New York City. I put it together back in November and thought it looked promising. But I was concerned and I had that weird feeling you get when you purchase something expensive but you don't know for sure how it's going to work when you need it... November passes, then December, and half of January with no snow other than a flurry - not that I was complaining, but there was nothing to test it with! And now I'm well out of the return window with Amazon. I had been using an electric Toro, but the cord is such a giant pain - half the time using it was cord management. You always had to be aware of where it was and how it was laid out, especially around cars and in the street. You had to move it around constantly as you cleared areas, creating slack and reeling slack, throwing it this way and that way. So I really wanted this cordless snow thrower to work... Well, I'm happy to say that it works GREAT! I am extremely pleased with it. We got well over a foot of snow here... probably 14 to 15 inches in total, with drifts that were easily 2 feet deep. During the storm, I went out at 9:30am, cleared my front patio, front path, my driveway (a one car, small driveway), and some of the street in front of my driveway. Went back out at 4pm, did the same and cleared just a bit of one of my neighbor's driveway before the battery died. Went back out at about 8pm, cleared my patio & path again, my driveway and a different neighbor's entire front path, and part of their driveway and street (which had not been shoveled at all yet) before the battery died. I think my neighbors were impressed with the snow thrower, the battery life and the ease of use - I know I was. I'm pretty sure at least one of them is going to purchase one soon. After waiting close to three months for snow, there was a feeling of vindication and relief knowing that it works well! I would say that I did get a good 30 minutes of run time per charge. I would often stop the motor when backing up and maneuvering as running it when doing so would just waste the battery charge. And the battery does charge in about 30 minutes from empty (but you should probably let it rest a bit between using it and charging it, IMO). The snow thrower itself doesn't feel fragile to me. In fact, I'd say it's a pretty solid build, plastic and all. Although the control for the chute direction could be better, so far it works fine. Also, make sure you don't overtighten the knobs on the handles when putting it together - hand tighten them and stop once you feel resistance. The LED headlights are bright and work well, as I used them on the third outing, along withthis BORUiT headlamp , which is super bright and it also works well (that is, once I resoldered ALL of the connections in it's battery compartment and charger because those solders were unbelievably bad on the BORUiT headlamp, (not the snow thrower)). So far, the only times the chute would clog was when the battery was about to quit and the unit didn't have enough power left to send the snow through it. At that point, you knew you were at the end. I realize that this was only the first snow storm where I was able to use it - although this was a substantial snow storm. The snow was well over a foot deep, especially in the drifts up against my house. It was also pretty wet, heavy and good for snowballs. I'll know more as the winter continues and I'll update this review as more data is collected. If anyone has any questions, leave a comment and I will respond. But so far, I love this thing. UPDATE: 1/24/2016 Today I cleaned part of my driveway that hadn't been cleaned yet, the plow ridge in front of my driveway, the plow ridge in front of another street parking spot, and the plow ridge in front of a neighbor's driveway - all on one battery charge. The plow ridge took a number of passes, but it really didn't have a problem with it at all. It was able to throw most of the snow over an area I had already cleared, though I did go over that area again. If I wasn't convinced before, I am now - this was plow ridge! I was dreading it thinking that there was no way I could use this snow thrower on that plow ridge... but now it's gone. This may be the best $300 I ever spent. Neighbor says he's definitely getting one. We'll see. UPDATE: 1/25/2016 This evening I did some additional snow cleanup. This consisted of an area of pathway that had not been cleared before and had been receiving snow previously thrown there by the GreenWorks - a total of approxmiately two feet. Two sunny days after the storm, the thrown snow on top was irregular and hardened, so much so I had trouble piercing it even withthis excellent Suncast SNF2150, metal bladed snow shovel . The GreenWorks could not deal with it... at least not the top, packed, frozen layer. At two feet high, it was difficult to even get it into a position to attempt to skim the top layer off, though I did try. However, once I passed the area of the layered, packed, frozen top layer, it had no issue finishing the rest. Considering how hard that top layer of previously thrown, sun beaten, refrozen snow was, and the fact that it was much higher than the opening on the thrower, I'm actually not disappointed. I'm not certain that anything but a much larger, two stage gas unit could have done it. Still, I wanted to update the review with the info. UPDATE: 1/26/2016 So I just put the unit away for the time being. First, I inspected the impeller, and there was a little damage to the edges where I had run over a rounded curb transition the wrong way. There was just a little frayed plastic, but nothing that would affect functionality in the least. Using a blade, I trimmed the frayed area off - I'm literally talking about a few specks of plastic. I also charged the battery. The manual states that you should store the battery in a charged state and recharge it every six months. Don't store the battery in the thrower or the charger. It looks like I won't be needing the thrower again for at least a few weeks, maybe longer. UPDATE: 1/6/2018 The beginning of year three with my Greenworks PRO 80V snowthrower and... more snow. So we just had the "Bomb Cyclone" here in New York, and the Greenworks ate it up. I waited until most of the snow had stopped falling, around 5 or 6pm. Then I cleared my path, driveway and my street parking spot and then I also did my neighbor's street spot and driveway. The wind was just brutal and snow just blew wherever the wind took it. I have to laugh, because one of my other neighbors, whom I'm not friendly with, is out there shoveling his driveway... I'm just feet away clearing the snow in the street, as I've done for three seasons now, making it look like a walk in the park, which in comparision, it was. He's seen me do this many times, yet he hasn't sprung for one. Just makes me laugh. In November of 2016, I purchased asecond battery that I got on sale for $85 and man, having a second battery just makes life so much easier. Having two full batteries to attack the snow with, then being able to charge one while using the other... it allows you to just keep going. It came in handy last winter and this winter already. But even when I had one battery, I could still manage fine, it was just that I had to stop and wait for it to charge if I needed to clear more snow. This past August of 2017, I was able to get a freeGreenworks PRO 80V Cordless Leaf Blower for review in the Amazon Vine program. I used that baby in the fall for leaves, for which it worked great, but I've also been using it this season to clear light snow from my path, street, driveway and cars. It does an great job clearing light snow, especially the wiper and grille areas of my cars,

Questionable quality and below average customer service. Not a bad blower but proceed with caution.
I would love to give a great review on this product. The problem is that the battery that came with it is defective and therefore the product is useless. If you're reading this, you're probably thinking hmm, why don't you exchange this for a new one? Simple enough, right? WRONG! Greenworks customer service has been atrocious in my attempts to get a new battery. After getting the red flashing light of death on the battery I called customer service to see what I needed to do to get a new one. They advised me to go to a Blain's Farm and Fleet about 20 minutes away who would test the battery and charger to see which was the issue, and would order a new one for me free of charge. Wow, that seems easy I though. Well... I visited the Farm and Fleet store only to find out that they do not deal with or work on Greenworks products (they checked with management, the small engine repair department, and their customer service department). So, I called Greenworks back and told them what had happened and they gave me the name and number of a small engine repair shop even further away from my home. I call this shop multiple times and cannot get a call back - they don't have a website or anything and so I ended up just driving to the address Greenworks provided which ended up being a house! Their could be a business in there of some kind, but I'm not going to randomly knock on someone's front door - I left multiple messages for this "business" but received nothing in return. Needless to say, my confidence at this point was dwindling. Of course, I had already driven I don't know how many miles and spent how much time shoveling snow that I shouldn't have needed to. Currently, I am still working to get a new battery. Greenworks customer service directed me to yet another Farm and Fleet that is over 30 minutes away. I called in advance to make sure they could service the product and the response I received was "I guess so, but we've had a Greenworks blower sitting in the back room for over 3 months and still haven't received the missing parts, but sure bring it in." Given that this is the best response I have received so far, I guess I'm going to have to demand Farm and Fleet do something about it even though this is clearly a Greenworks issue. So, overall I would stay FAR AWAY from this product. I had read some similar reviews previously and thought that this would never happen to me, or that it couldn't be that difficult but I was DEAD WRONG. I'm a very reasonable person who doesn't expect a customer service representative to have all the answers but it's concerning when Greenworks themselves don't know who services their product and who doesn't! The bottom line is that they, THEMSELVES don't service their product. ***UPDATE 2/14/16*** Since my last update I was able to obtain a new battery. Unfortunately, this has been a year with little snow in my area so I was unable to test it out...until tonight! We received about 3-4 inches of white, powdery snow which I figured would be the perfect amount for this thrower to blow right through. It fired right up, the sound being a very faint hmm which you would expect from an electric blower and off I went. I took about two passes up and down my driveway which is about 50 feet long. The thrower made quick work of the two strips I made and it was much more powerful than I thought it would be - I'd say it was able to throw the snow a good 15-20 feet. As I was making the third pass I noticed that it began to struggle a little bit, as the power began to come and go, and eventually the machine shut down all together. I checked everything to make sure nothing was stuck (it wasn't as this was very light, fluffy snow) and figured that it was just a fluke. It took me a couple tries to restart it but did fire back up and I was able to continue for another 10-15 feet when it began to struggle again, and shut down a second time. I checked everything, pulled the battery, adjusted the way I was moving it (slowing down, speeding up, etc.) and no matter what I tried it continued to struggle and shut down, requiring that I restart it over and over. After a few more times I decided enough was enough and opted for my old shovel. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I wasn't expecting it to cut through a foot of wet, heavy snow but figured 4 inches of the lightest kind possible should be no problem. I was dead wrong. I don't know if my thrower is faulty but I guess I have no choice but to try their "customer service" once again to figure out what I need to do with it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this machine. In fact, just go with a trusty gas-powered machine - a little more maintenance but will at least do what it's supposed to. ***UPDATE 12/30/16*** Greenworks sent me a new blower free of charge along with a new battery and charger. The new one works much better than the old one. Clearly, it was defective. I am thankful that Greenworks made this right, although the process to get here was not an easy one. The blower works fairly well, actually about as I anticipated it would. It lasts about an hour on a full charge and does a pretty good job running through fairly substantial amounts of snow. I had it cutting through about 8-10 inches without too much trouble. It would be nice if the battery lasted twice as long (2 hours instead of 1), but I will say the battery does charge pretty quickly and of course you can buy multiple batteries and eliminate this problem. I haven't tried this on wet snow but it throws powder around no problem. I fear the plastic blade won't hold up very well but no issues thus far. After using it a few times I often find myself wishing it was a little taller. I'm 6'1 and feel like I'm hunched over at times which becomes uncomfortable after an hour or so but if you're under 6 foot you shouldn't have any problems. Overall, I'm giving this a 3 out of 5 stars. I feel this is generous considering the poor customer service but the blower itself I would give 4 out of 5 stars, relatively speaking. Don't expect this to do the job of a quality gas powered blower but if you only need it for a small driveway it'll do just fine.

Effortless start- more power than expected
I am in LOVE with my snowblower! Yes, adulting is weird, and can lack the excitement and bliss of youthful ignorance, but seriously y'all.... I LOVE MY SNOWBLOWER. My soon-to-be-ex husband used to handle the snow removal around the property---at least when he was in the mood to be a grown adult and do adulting things--- but I never got the hang of starting our old heavy behemoth snowblower. He's gone now, and this amazing green snowblower has helped me handle my bidness. I don't have to cook and clean up for it, either. Win-win. It's very quiet, it starts easily, it runs longer than I thought it would (3 charges for my LONG WIDE driveway and parking and sidewalk. BONUS THOUGH, it charges VERY quickly (30ish mins), and gives you the compulsory break you should have in a major snow removal event. Plus, you *can* get extra batteries. Iowa winters are no joke, and this blower handles all the variations of snow, and is lighter and less strenuous to work with. Minor issues: The front end of the blower being a little more weighty would seem to help a little. Also, the adjustable piece on top of the chute doesn't adjust well, but again, this snowblower is still easily one of my best purchases of recent memory.

Pretty solid battry powered unit. I recommend it
Ok normaly i never write a review but feel i must. Just ordered the product with some mixed reservation after reading the reviews. But as a company that sells on amazon i feel this important. So on feb 18th i received the unit it and charged if for 20 min to do a test run. At 20 min it showed full charge. Im gona mention now that i live in Winnipeg Canada where its cold as crap and we get tons of snow. Ps im 50 years old and never owned a snow blower of any type. 1st for the negative it states to store and not use below -17 cel. do to the unit being plastic. Ok my problem here is i do not have a garage so i will have to bring the unit in the house to the basement. 2nd it is not self propelled. 3rd the unit is completly pastice incl the auger. This part has me thinking i would not use it against hard chunks of road ice pushed up by street clearing units As of using it 2 times that all the the bad i have to say yet. Now the positive 1 it is only 40 lbs so any one that is capable of working in sub zero temps can easily bring it in to the basement 2 the unit will run easliy 25 min even tho i did not allow it to fully charge as per manufacture specs. But at our sub zero temps here the unit pretty much says time out have a drink (your choice of couse) then finish up. 3 it cleared though 2 foot drifts quite easy and was able to clear front and back walk and 3/4 of a driveway in 1 almost charged run. The 2nd run later i finished mine and neighbors 2 car driveway. 4 it easily tosses the snow upto 25 feet as advertized Over all being my 1st snowblower im not stupid it is not a $2000 90lb steel beast that is self propelled snd gas fed unit, but id say it handled the job very well for a battery drivin unit. And for the $416 cn. This unit so far has execeded my expectations, and i would recommend for any one for light to moderate duty use. Pleaae remember to look at the star ratings for products. To get a 4.5 star is very hard to do considering 1 bad review can drop that number very fast. I will update my statement if i have any problems eith the unit or manufacture.

Dissappointed - Bad return policy
Snowthrower is still in box, never opened, but to return it i have to pay shipping fee. I thought returns were free. I dont know what to do with it at this time. Bad customer service from GreenWorks, Amzon is not helping much either.

Very disappointed. It didn’t work.
The media could not be loaded. I have the 80V lawn mower so I decided to get this last week so I didn’t have to buy batteries. Today, we had a good amount of snow and I was very excited to try this but unfortunately it didn’t work. The paddle stops rotating abruptly as soon as it hits snow. Not even an inch of snow and the snow wasn’t compacted. I have two batteries and I tried both without luck. I don’t think it was the batteries because the lights keeps on, it just that the paddle stops. I ended up shovelling manually which was very disappointing. I don’t think i’m doing anything wrong but will contact support and see.

Little snow blower that can!
Great little machine for the price point. Battery life is as advertised (about 45 minutes). Great for loose snow, not so much for “slushy” snow but it was expected. Although it feels a little flimsy (mainly plastic components) it can go through volume of snow without sounding like it is working hard. Blows snow to a distance of 20’ very easily. Low noise level is a bonus, no need for hearing protection like I needed on my old gas blower.. Overall very satisfied with this product.

Worked four snowfalls and then suddenly turned useless
1 star: Snow blower worked well the first four times; today I went to try blow a light (1" - 2" layer) of powdery snow and it goes about 6 ft and cuts out; did this about a dozen times. I tried it with a 2nd fully charged battery and the same thing. Shoveled the rest by hand. Reading some reviews I see others have had similar problems. This is too bad as the snow blower initially exceeded my expectations for a battery powered unit. This needs to be repaired, replaced, or trashed. Remains to be seen how Greenworks provides restitution. Update: 2 star from 1 star: Within 2 days Greenworks contacted me and said they would ship a replacement. Looking forward to seeing if the same issue arises with the replacement
