Once assembly is out the way, this is a great, adaptable product
I concur with another reviewer who said it first - the worst thing about this item is the lack of clarity around assembly. The instructions are not overly detailed and the way the rack bars are packaged led me to incorrect installation at first. The "big end" goes in the left side, "small end" in the right. But there are two big and small ends, since these bars are expandable, and the directions do not appropriately specify which end is which. Slide the bars out fully to look at both ends on each bar; you want the absolute biggest end, not the one that tapers down, and the absolute smallest end, not the one that's lipped. If you have slack when putting in the biggest end, and it doesn't fit snug, you have the wrong big end. And if you can't fit the small end no matter how hard you try, you have the wrong small end. Now all of that said, once you find the right ends, and set it up correctly, this is a great product, excellent for super small closets, as it is narrow from front to back and from tier to tier. I have a lot more room in my closet now, so much so that I'm buying another set in order to add an additional tier. Since the tier heights are intentionally lesser, any boots taller than a short ankle bootie will have to go on the top shelf. I was able to fit high top sneakers in one of the lower shelves, however, as well as a couple pairs of 3" heels. The lengthwise expandable nature of the item is great as well, allows you to fit it alongside whatever else you have in the closet. I'm stoked that not only have a I found a shoe rack that is highly functional in my teeny closet, but that when I move, I can add more tiers and expand the length if I happen to luck into a bigger closet. I'm making this product four stars because of the assembly issues - if the directions clarified the right ends, this product would be an absolute cinch to put together. That said, don't pay $95 for expert assembly unless you have money to blow and no time to waste.

We shall see
I will update once I use it. So far the pieces don't feel sturdy, but I need for it to be functional

SMOOTH SAILING ONCE YOU PUT THE RODS TOGETHER PROPERLY!
Whatever troll assembled the rods as they did when packing them def caused the most amount of issue & all of the negative reviews this product is getting. I promise it is smooth sailing and no annoying falling apart clanging to drive you nuts once you do! The rods were sent to me with one end large (2nd rod pic) and the other flat on the opposite end (3rd rod pic) so I expected it to be pretty plug and play. Right? I spent at least 10 minutes forcing the flat ended side (3rd rod pic) into the smaller shelf holes and it kept falling out (& that clanging sound truly stabs into your brain every time it falls apart). I had assembled similar products before - it’s not rocket science!- and this was enraging. I even had my bf help and even he was like “forget this crappy product.” After borderline giving up I took the rods apart, flipped them so that the flat piece (3rd rod pic) was inside and the smallest part (1st rod pic) was opposite the largest and low and behold, success! So for all you who are struggling & wondering how a shoe rack is your downfall of the day: ** The flat ended part of the rod should be inside the big rod to prevent it from over expanding & coming apart! ** **If the rods can separate into 2 pieces when you pull them then you need to take them apart, flip them around, putting flat ended side inside, and try again** Hope this helps someone!! The product is great, sturdy and works fabulously! I bought 2 packs and stacked 1.5 of the shelves to fit more shoes. Def recommend for smaller closets in old apt buildings :) only took off the 1 star because of the initial frustration! Def worth the $$

Good product except....
This product suited my needs. I would have given it a 5-star rating except for one reason: One metal pole couldn't be retracted, bec. it had a crimp at the end that made it unusable. So I requested a replacement. It's a good thing I didn't return the original order right away, bec. the replacement had two unusable poles this time. So I simply replaced them with the poles from my original order. In case you order this product, it may be a good idea to order 2 of them just in case you get the same problem and return the other one afterwards. But if you only order one and request for a replacement, it may be a good idea to also hold on to the original order until you're 100% sure all parts of the replacement are good-to-go.

Don't Give Up On Assembly
I had this storage rack for 4 days and would try to assemble it each morning. Finally this morning I conquered it! Don't give up but I would suggest having a rubber or wood mallet on hand to heavily tap the rods into the plastic holes! (A hammer would bust it) As a tip on the inside of the plastic endcaps you will see an R and L. This will distinguish which endcaps are put together. They didn't come logically placed in my box that way and that is why I mention it. Lay the 2 assembled left side endcaps on the floor and place the rods in the holes. The rods will be sticking up in the air tap the rods into the left side. Place the right side end cap on top of the rods (you need to wiggle each rod into the hole individually) Then tap the rods into the right side holes by tapping on the outer facing side of the right end cap. I really like that it is adjustable in width and also you can add another row to it vertically.

Glad I bought this used from Amazon
It’s quite flimsy and honestly not worth the full price. I got it for $19 used from Amazon and it does the job, but I don’t see this lasting for years. It stands on its own, at least there’s that, and there’s 4 layers of it (5 if you count the bottom). Good if you’re only planning to use it temporarily.

Just what I needed!
This rack has revolutionized my closet organization! I read a lot of reviews before ordering this one. I don't have it all the way extended, but it allowed me to put 5 pairs of size 8 shoes on each level and underneath, giving me room for 20 pairs of shoes (on 4 rows). If I extended it, I could fit even more. The shoes don't slide on this rack (a problem I had with an old rack) and they all fit comfortably. I also think the rack is plenty sturdy and the price was right. It doesn't have a cheap feel at all in my opinion. It was very easy to assemble. I did it myself in just a few minutes. This is a good one!

Great Shoe Rack!
While this is pricier than some other shoe racks on the market, it is super easy to assemble, relatively sturdy, and allows you to adjust the size depending on how much space you need. You can fit around 20 shoes (mens) from top to bottom. Overall, this is a great shoe rack!

You get what you pay for. Poor workmanship
One piece of metal was jammed so had to throw one arm out. Don’t buy.

Expands for a perfect fit for your space
I got these to put inside my double sliding door closet. The expandable feature is key, because it had to be narrow enough that I can squeeze it in with just one side of the sliding door open, then once inside, I expanded it to fill the entire width of the closet! This helped to maximize the shoe storage of my closet. I only wish it came in a 4-level version. PROs: Expandable! Sturdy Easy assembly Attractive clean finish Reasonable price CONs: The first one I received had the brackets on the wrong side of the frame, so I exchanged it without a problem.
