Can't go wrong with OXO Brand!

Fantastic set. Very sturdy and well-made... better than the flimsy cheap versions. I own dozens of OXO Brand items... they hold up very well under heavy use and come out of the dishwasher looking new. In terms of camping... if you're backcountry backpacking... weight matters. These are larger than needed and heavy. Perfect for car camping... but they're such a high quality, we've decided to use them in our kitchen!

OXO Quality

I'm a huge OXO fan and I have so many OXO products. If I have a choice, it's not a question for me to opt for the OXO item because of the well thought out design and quality. These cooking utensils have the OXO quality, but I'm not thrilled with the design of the handles of the ladle and spoon. Rather than solid handles, they are bent metal. The handles are of thick metal and sturdy, but I just don't like the bent handle design. I have a lot of other utensils with this design that are of cheaper quality and it just sticks in my head that it's cheap. The lock on the tongs work, but I noticed that when it's in the open position the lock toggles back and forth. At first, I thought the lock works by toggling, but no, it works by pulling it out and pushing it in like most tongs. The rocking is just a design flaw or a defect.

Easy to hold, useful, easy to clean!

I love this set so much, I might commandeer it from my husband's grilling equipment and use them for indoor/kitchen cooking. Such a nice set. I would highly recommend and would definitely purchase again. Pros: +These are made of heavy-duty steel that is sturdy. +They just feel darn good in your hand, like someone ergonomically designed it. +The silicone tips and grips are secure on the utensil. +They're actually a good size for indoor use as well as outdoor grill work. +The tongs work easily, and lock closed with relative ease. +It comes with a silicone sleeve that opens up and doubles as a utensil rest. I like that it wraps around and holds the utensils together for easy storage. Cons: -The only thing about this set that I truly did not like was each item has a cloth/rope loop for hanging/storage. Why would you use cloth/rope? I fully expect that loop to get greasy and dirty, then detract from the relative attractiveness of the utensils. I'm no germaphobe but using cloth/rope also seems like a place for germs to thrive. -I mentioned above that these are a good size for kitchen use and that is true, but it also poses a "con." Most of our grilling utensils are longer, offering the cook to remain a safe distance from smoke, grease spatters, and general heat. I think they should be a little longer if they're truly meant for outdoor/grilling use.

Nice solid camping utensil set that is easy to use

This set is going right into my go bag for the Jeep. It's a great set for camping, compact enough and easy to pack but sturdy and functional for regular use. the pancake turner has a solid feel with just the right weight, the handle is comfortable and grippy. I use cast iron when I'm camping so I don't really need the silicon tip, but this is well made and solid enough that it works fine even on sticky food and is easier to clean than a lot of steel turners. That helps when you're in the wild and only have a little water to clean with. the spoon is just big and deep enough to serve as a sorta ladle and is just as easy to grip as the turner. The tip is strong enough it can be used for some cutting in a stew or sauce. the tongs are a little flimsy, as most tongs of this style are, but they feel solid, are easy to hold, and I think they will last quite a while. Again the silicon tips are well made and strong enough to cut and scrape a little, as needed. I really like the inclusion of the silicon rest for a couple reasons - it works well as a rest for all of these tools, just the right size to be able to put all three on at once instead of putting them onto a dirty picnic bench or having to hold them in your hand the whole time. But it also serves as a good grip for opening difficult jars or bottles, so it's a bonus. I like this set, and highly recommend. I've used OXO products for a long time and they seem to last very well, and these look like they will be the same.

Good quality, solid

One way to know if cooking utensils are high quality is when they are one continuous piece of metal from the handle to the tip. These are definitely that. OXO has always been a quality brand in my experience. My favorite part of this set is the heavy duty tongs. They feel great in the hand and you can tell they will last for years. The only thing I don’t love is the hanging cord. I understand that it’s helpful for camping, but these are good for home use as well, and the cord being wet for a long time isn’t ideal. All in all, a great set of cooking utensils!

Great feeling cooking set

I got these for camping originally, but upon arrival i liked them so much that they have just become my daily kitchen use tools. The silicone used on them feels great. The actuation on the tongs is smooth. Overall they have a great feel to them. It is a bit on the pricey side for what you get, but they are a nice cooking set.

Heavy duty

Heavy duty, metal and silicone tools. They are on the heavy side, so if you’re backpacking, you probably wouldn’t want this much weight. They are fine for regular camping that you drive up to and pitch a tent. Not for your over open flames. The handles are too short, but they’re fine with a propane camp stove. I don’t camp anymore so I am using these in the kitchen and they’re perfectly fine for that, really like them actually, super easy to clean and great for my nonstick pans with the exception of the tongs. Even like the utensil rest as it serves to place those messy in use utensils while cooking.

This is a very nice, quality set of "camping" cooking utensils! The packaging is unclear though if it can be used on open flame, like a grill or a camp fire grate. Other than that issue, these things are pretty nice and quality made
