I didn't want to like this...or need this...
When I first saw the GSI Pivot series utensils, I thought they were kind of silly. They didn't weigh much less than their standard, non-folding counterparts -- plus, they were much more costly than what I could buy at the dollar store. However, as I do a lot of solo camping, I am always looking for ways to streamline my gear. Because the Pivot Utensils folded in half, they would fit neatly in my cooking kit. So I started out by buying the Pivot Spatula and Pivot Tongs and thinking that I could make do without the spoon, since I already had a spoon I used for eating in my kit. But then -- true story -- I found myself hard boiling eggs for a hike with no easy way to pull the eggs out of the water. So I rethought my position on the spoon and ordered it. Despite the fact that it's lightweight and foldable, the Pivot Spoon is surprisingly sturdy once extended and holds up well to heat (although I wouldn't leave it sitting in a pot while cooking). It's easy to clean and packs down relatively small. And it's nice to have a larger spoon on hand for cooking.

Great tool for the campsite
It has proven to be an excellent tool for a camp kitchen when you need reliable tools that are both light , and compact . Just make sure you don't leave it near too much heat for too long, but it's versatile and easy cleaning , A good purchase for your next campsite kitchen , or tailgate spread .

Have not used yet but they seam OK
I have not used these yet as it is winter but they seam like they are well made. We'll see how they stand up over time but I liked this option for saving space in my camper and they fit in my Tupperware that I use for my cooking gear.

Big, Strong and Verstile
The picture makes it look like a conventional cooking and serving spoon, but that's not quite it. It's a hydrid spoon-scoop, with level marks in ounces, Tbsp, and ml up to it's 2 oz capacity. With its 10-inch length it would be ideal for scooping out dried foods, as a mini ladle, or as a camping jigger. It's plenty strong, and locks securely in the folded position. When folded to 5-1/2 inch it seems bulky due to trapped space. I'll still use a wooden spoon for some trips.

Be the envy of your camping neighbors
Great spoon. Took this on a camping trip the other weekend and I was the envy of my neighbors. I even heard "Did he just unfold his spoon?" I just used this spoon to get stuff out of a bag of rehydrated food, but it did the job like a champ.

Great small spoon that folds away neatly for your pack!
The spoon functions well. It's a bit on the small side, but that's a good thing for the pack. The locking and folding mechanism is strong molded plastic and I'm assuming it'll last for a quite a while. Happy with the purchase!

Great for eating out of deep food thermo!
I bought this spoon not for outdoor cooking but for eating out of my 24oz food thermo, and hell of a bite I'm having. However, the only complement missing it's a pouche or carrying bag.

Way too expensive

No Scratches.
Just what I needed to prevent my cookware from being scratched and the folding of the pieces makes for easy backpacking.
