Sweet

Usually I just use chopsticks so the spoon and spork are nice for a just in case. They should have just made the spork a fork for functionality since sporks really aren't all that useful and well they already have a spoon in the setup. One of the coolest parts about this is how I can turn it into a pair of tongs for grabbing a whatever it is I'm cooking in the pan.

Gerber does it again

I'm very impressed by most Gerber gear and this doesn't disappoint. It works just as described. Perfect for camping. Using two of the pieces together as tongs is genius. And they are very light but feel well made and hold up to a lot of use and abuse.

A great idea, but could be better with a few minor changes.

This camping utensil is really a breakthrough idea. I'm sure most of us have used various stacking utensil sets before. Often they're heavy and easily bend, but they do save a little space and help keep your pack more organized. What sets this kit apart is that the spoon or spork can attach to the spatula to make tongs. I've used these to cook and eat all sorts of meals at camp. The spatula is small, so it isn't much good at turning larger pieces of food. But used in conjunction with the spoon or fork as tongs, you can grip most food items to easily turn them over. The only problem is trying to turn over fish or hash browns, but I can eventually get the job done a bit at a time. The spatula is a rigid nylon with a soft, silicon edge good for stirring tomato sauce and scrambled eggs. But I can foresee the nylon softening if exposed to high heat. An improvement would be making the spatula out of titanium, but the necessary machining would likely double the price. You can also mate the spoon with the spatula to make a long-handled spoon that's ideal for getting to the bottom of freeze-dried meal packets without getting your fingers messy. I'm not a fan of sporks, and the one in this set hasn't changed my opinion. A spork is a poor fork married with an almost useless spoon. In this case, since the set already includes real spoon, a definite improvement would be to include a real fork instead of the spork. The set also includes a multipurpose tool that can open cans and bottles, cut cordage and peal vegetables. I think all of us carry some kind of knife or multi-tool that can handle these functions. The tool has sharp edges that can cut and wear on your gear. I think this tool could be eliminated without diminishing the overall value of the utensil set. If not, then some kind of cover should be added to protect the sharp edges. Overall, I'm happy enough with this set that I bought four more for my sons, daughter and son-in-law. Everyone is pleased with their utensils, though the all made many or all the same observations for improvement.

Good

Oldest son saw this at a big box store, the one that has the aquarium and stuffed animals. I wrote down the name and looked on Amazon for it. Price was better! Son was thrilled to get an unexpected gift. He immediately put it in his bug out bag. Youngest boy saw what I bought and says he heard they were the best and is going to get one for himself.

Can’t help but like this

I really like this kit because it has utensils that are long enough to cook with and just right for eating. I like how they stack together. The little “can opener thingy,” I can do without, so I leave it home.

Good product

What I like about this product is the fact that they all stack on top of each other make it very easy to pack up or leave in your backpack or wherever, one thing I dislike tho is they are well made but feel like you could snap them in half other than that 10/10

Disappointed and let down

The media could not be loaded. I'm giving this set a 2 star. My wife and I were experimenting in our backyard with new pancake recipes for backcountry backpacking. The spatula is just too big for a precise small cake flip. It is good when made as tongs and is good to stir powdered peanut butter, it fails horribly as a spatula. Furthermore, this spatula started peeling after three pancakes.. and it's not like we were leaving in the burner... Some struggled scrapes to get under the cakes and failed flip attempts were the only actions. The other components to this set seem to perform well and as expected. It is unfortunate that this set fails as a spatula. This setup would otherwise get a five star from me. However, at this price point the customer is expecting high quality and the delivery of this quality.

Not Dishwasher Safe

Threw these in the dishwasher after they arrived so they'd be clean for an upcoming trip. I checked the packaging before and with nothing warning me otherwise into the dishwasher they went. The colouring has washed away in places leaving the utensils feeling rough and looking awful. I figured for something so "tough" a trip through the wash should be no problem. I will be returning it.

Save your money buy something else

Not dishwasher friendly at all coating peeled right off also this item showed up scratched from the start so this is strike 2 still have not gotten to use them yet save your money and buy something of higher quality these are certainly not worth $40
