Load em up and take em out...

I've been looking for something like this for a while. Something to put condiments in, that you can actually get the condiments back out with. The main ingredient I've been wanting to use this for was butter. That's right, butter. There's nothing better than having REAL butter on the trail with you to brighten up any meal. So how was this done? Let me share. Side note, margarine does NOT work well in these things. If the margarine gets warm, then the oil separates out from the water in the margarine, and you get a really nasty product going onto your biscuits. First I load up a flavor injector I use to prep my turkey's with for deep frying. I soften up the butter to room temp, then stuff it into the large end of the injector. Leave the needle off the injector, that gives you a hole slightly smaller than the opening of the GSI containers, and then gently squeeze the butter into the GSI Bottles. Fresh baked/fried biscuits with REAL butter that you just squeeze onto the biscuits. I replace the screw on cap with the flip top cap, and BAM! don't even really need a knife to spread it out. Just squeeze away! Cleaning was going to be a problem, but then I found that using a "test tube" brush and soap, I got my bottles VERY clean. The only thing I would recommend against is using the flip tops with a watery liquid in the bottles. Use the screw tops with watery condiments. Overall, these things are GREAT! Very useful and REUSABLE! so you don't have to pack out empty mustard packets or in my case, butter wrappers.

Yes, the lids will break but there's no better product on the market

Yes, the lids will break over time if you tighten them too much. I have had two sets of these and all of the caps have split because I'm tightening them too much. HOWEVER, there is NO other product like this on the market so I'm going for a third set and I will be more careful to lightly hand tighten. They do not leak unless they break. If someone finds a better alternative for backpacking condiments, I will try is and hopefully GSI will start making these with better caps....

Perfect for camping.

Easy to fill and clean! These are great for camping. I no longer have to look for a small sized bottle for my cooler. I just fill these with ketchup, mustard, etc. from the bottles in my refrigerator.

Tricky to wash but useful for a camping kitchen!

Great for camping! I use these for condiments but they could also be used for shower soap or shampoo. I did have some problems cleaning them but after a thorough soak I was able to get them nice and clean. Drying is an issue and I could see mold developing if you're not careful to dry it standing upside down and fully open. I didn't experience any leaks whatsoever. Love that they flatten as they empty - creates space on the hike home!

Works great, I use agave nectar, which is impossible to find when you travel. This works great!

No leaks, easy to fill. Not so easy to clean, but there are 4.

Not what I thought!

I guess I misread the description on these things. It's my fault for being optimistic. I thought that "soft-sided bottle" would be like a "squeeze bottle". But they're not "bottles", only tiny foil/ plastic bags with a lid. They wont stand up or anything. They're just little baggies to put in a pack or something. (but hope they don't get pinched or poked or you'll have a mess.) They're very small. The one I tested was less than 2 oz. The INSIDE of each bag is about 2 1/4 X 2 1/2 " flat, so they'll hold maybe enough mustard for 2 or 3 hot dogs. That's all. The way they're sealed around the edge, I doubt that they can be cleaned very well because there's a crevice all around inside. These things are useless to me. I'd send them back except I'm handicapped & it's too difficult for me. Fortunately they were cheap. There's nothing wrong with the quality, I just can't use them. Just remember... These are NOT bottles. They're little plastic bags with screw-on lids. Just so y' know.

Good, but hard to fill!

Really useful little bottles, however they're so soft that they're hard to fill to capacity. I was going to use them with maple syrup, but I kept spilling the syrup. I need to figure out some way to use a squeeze bottle for the syrup that will fit tight around the edge of this container.

Only two colours, not four.

We have used these before. Our kitchen kit came with a blue and green ones. We bought this to have more colours so we could easily distinguish between condiments. When it arrived I had two blue and two green, not the four colours pictured. Not super useful to me. Beyond my disappointment with colours these do not tend to leak, are flat when empty, and are good for non food items too(camp soap and sun screen). Con: they are a pain to wash.
