The original training wheels worked better, so I used those
I actually ended up using the hardware, but not the training wheels themselves. The original training wheels worked better, so I used those. This seems kind of expensive for just the quick release nuts, but it is nice to be able to quickly get the training wheels out of the way.

Good a couple of days
We really had a good time with it for a couple of days; then it started to bend over to one side and we never were able to fix it. Then our 5 years old started doing longer runs by herself and unhooked everything.

Good quality but i didn't really need them.
I bought the trail gator system prior to getting my sons bike and on't think I will ever use them. Pros: 1. These training wheels are higher quality than the ones that came with my sons bike. 2. The system works well and eliminates the need for tools to rremove the training wheels. Cons: 1. Decorative chain guard on the 16" CARS bike makes it so these will not fit without modification. I've figured out that the training wheels that came with the bike are really easy to remove and flip. Although the stock training wheels aren't as robust, they fit without modification. Training wheels aren't used for that long of time so I think I'll make due with the ones that came with the bike.

These training wheels should get less than 2 stars but they were at least made of metal .... like stuff. I bought these training wheels along side the trailgator bar. Both products say they are compatible with 12'' diameter wheels, however all of the hardware included in the package does not fit the standard 9/16'' axle/nut that comes on most department store bikes, the included hardware was all too big. With the hardware included not fitting on the bike I used what I could to make it work, and used the hardware that cam off the bike. After managing to get the wheels secured the "spinning" function does not work because the hand knobs that would facilitate them being loosened and rotated do not fit on the axles and are instead secured with the old hardware, perhaps some wingnuts will make it work.... I guess at least the metal didn't crack apart.

Good Product
These training wheels are very nice. They come with nuts and handles for two different thread sizes, and they can accommodate bikes with a straight horizontal slot for the back wheel or an angled slot for the back wheel. The flip-up feature is great when used with the TrailGator Tow Bar (Trail-Gator Trailgator Bicycle Tow Bar ). The only thing I did not like is that I couldn't get one wheel straight vertical like the other one. I don't think that's by design. It seems to be that the bracket shifts slightly in the direction of tightening the nut on the axle. Still works well regardless.

I purchased these training wheels for my daughters 20" Schwinn bike. The bolt that is supposed go thru the bike wheel to connect the training wheels together is too short. When I contacted BikepartsUSA where I purchased them thru Amazon.com, this is the email that I received........................... "I am sorry that the training wheels do not fit but it is not our fault that your bikes axel is not long enough. I am also sorry to inform you that the restocking fee will still be induced because that was not a fault of ours that the wheels did not fit. To return though you do not need a RA number anymore that is our old policy just ship the training wheels back to the address below". Morgan Steel BikepartsUSA.com 6350 W Atlantic Blvd Margate FL 33063 They advertise this product to fit a 20" bike and it does not. Now I have to pay a 15% restocking fee. I would be careful if you do business with this company.

Sturdy product, no regrets
After reading the mixed reviews, I took a gamble and ordered these flip-up wheels. I'm so glad I did. My husband installed them with ease. We are impressed that the flip up wheels are more sturdy and of better quality than the original wheels that came with the bike. Some people have said that this product is not necessary, but I feel safer knowing that the training wheels won't hinder us while leaning through turns. I would definately recommend these to a friend.

Rarely fits
We have four children's bikes of the correct size but these stabilisers don't fit any of them so we are dissappointed. We need to pull 2 kids with the trailgator and they both use stabilisers. They are nicely made but the axle bar is either too short (the brackets are wide) or the rear fork is not 90 or 45 degrees so the brackets wont fit on. We are having to return them.
