Great ringing bell.

We bought this bell from Amazon for our 9 year old daughter. The bell works great on her bike (20" Kent Lucky Star, also bought through Amazon). There were no problems with the setup of the bell onto the bike and stays secure. The bell is easy for my daughter to ring. I've devised a system for when we go biking to have her ring once if I bike way too fast and she can't keep up so I know to slow down a bit for her to catch up. Two rings if there is an emergency or she needs to stop. It's easier for me to hear a bell when riding with wind interference rather than her call out to me because I may not hear that. Yes, I do turn around to check on her frequently but I have precautions set up in case. This is a great bell to have and I do recommend this product. And no, I do not get paid by anyone for recommending this product.

Nicely made, good sound, but design quality is lacking

Purchased two for my twin daughters and they greatly enjoyed their appearance. The bell has bright, clear notes to the chime, and the mechanism seems sound. I was surprised to see that the bells are "left-handed", the thumb lever is curved so that the left thumb is used to actuate the bell, and there appears no way to flip the mechanism for right hand use. In regards to the design quality, the mounting system is relatively straightforward. It uses a screw and nut to fasten, the nut is inaccessible inside the casing with no external access. It is possible to push the nut out of its internal sleeve and into the case, thus making mounting extremely difficult. It will take a lot of time, patience and luck to retread the nut on the screw and align it back in the sleeve for tightening and mounting. Excitement lead to disappointment on the part of one of my daughters as she got to watch her sister ride around and ring her bell, but her very mechanically-inclined Daddy couldn't get her bell mounted on the bike. I would consider sending back for an exchange, but do not want to deal with the issues of another three month delay in fulfillment.

Adorable kids bike bell, just not durable.

This is very cute, simple to install and it looked great on my 3 year old's new bike! She loved the bell and is sounded good too! My daughter was so happy riding along ringing her bell. Unfortunately, one crash off a curb (she's still learning to ride), and the bell was done for. I was going to attempt gluing it back together, but when it broke open, we lost part of the bell mechanism. Overall, super adorable but seems too fragile. While inspecting what was left of it, I observed some areas of stress in the inside plastic pieces. It makes me wonder how long it would have lasted, even had it not suffered the fate of the low-speed crash.

This bell is super cute and adds style in a big girl way

This bell is super cute and adds style in a big girl way. It is not as loud as I would hope and not as easy to press as I would like too. However, my 7 year old daughter loves the look and we hope it will be easier to press with use. It was super easy to install and the packaging was easy to open. We received the item quickly too. I would not recommend for younger than 6 because I don't think the kiddo will be able to ride and press the bell as it is difficult for our 7 year old.

May Not Fit Some Trikes But Here’s A Solution

This looked like the perfect bell for first-time trike riders. Too bad it didn’t fit around the 2 ½” diameter handlebar onRadio Flyer Rider Trike Ride On, Pink . Our solution was to wrap a strip of automotive trim tape around the bar, which added 1/16”. Now the bell fits perfectly, and it rings perfectly too. Everyone’s happy, especially the little girl who's riding the trike. I've included a photo of the bell--the tape can be seen underneath it.

"Ding, ding" - I'm coming through!

I'm actually the mom of Tom, and I ordered this for a little humor on my wheelchair... Since people never know I'm coming through or behind them. When I say "Excuse me" or "Behind you" or "Coming through" - they ignore me! I tried this out at one of my doctor offices, and it worked great, AND brought DELIGHT to people when I used it to get through "the crowd". Not sure if it's "that sturdy" yet.... But it's from Bell, and they are known for good quality. A little fun for my disabled life!

My daughter likes this!

My daughter loves ringing this on her tandem bike while we are riding on longer rides to let people know of our approach/passing on the left. It is a little difficult for her to ring but I think this has more to do with it's placement on our tandem bike vs. a function of the bell itself. I will buy another one when we need a second tandem bike for our other daughter.

Cute bell for our 5 year old's bike. The sound can either be clear and loud or more muted and muddy sounding. It was clear and loud when she unwrapped it but after a few minutes of playing with it around the house the sound changed. I took a screw driver and gently pried up the pink, metal bell part (maybe an 1/8") and the sound went back to loud and clear.

Recomendable

Lo coloqué en la sillita que instalamos en la bicicleta de mi esposa, es muy bonito el timbre y nuestra bebé se divierte con él porque tiene un timbre como mamá. Le quito una estrella ya que queda un poco flojo, por lo que no está preparado para tubos de diámetros más pequeños, y en las especificaciones no lo mencionan.
