A little flimsy….

….handle. I would handle this splatter screen carefully as the gauge of steel used for the handle is insufficient. A good shake and I’m afraid I will snap. Otherwise the screen is perfect and no splatters at all!

Little Flimsy?

Perfect fit for our large frying pan. It works great, but has too much play where the handle connects to the screen. Otherwise, it is a good product.

Be careful

We really needed this screen to cover our large pan for splatters. It works well-my only concern is the welding or connection at the handle seems fragile, & could break easily. It hasn’t, and we are careful when using so it doesn’t.

Splatter Guard

My wife was tired of cleaning the back board on the stove. The guard all but eliminates the mess. I say almost because you have to remove it to stir. When you purchase measure the pot/pan you want to use it on. Ordering one that is "just" a little larger than the pan/pot. Easy to clean ...put in the dishwasher top shelf. We would like one just a little smaller but that is not available.

Works well.

Works well, just be gentle with it, it is a little flimsy and will bend. Don't place anything on top of it during storage either, again ... It will bend. So far it's doing it's job and holding up.

Lasted almost 7 years before I learned you can't put it in the oven.

Our last splatter shield had a plastic handle that inadvertently melted when it got too close to the heat. This one is metal throughout (NOPE: Read Edit below). The handle is a sturdy metal tube with a hook on the end for hanging. The joint between the handle and frame ring is a long 1.5" wide weld, not a single spot-weld that would be prone to failure. Looks and feels very sturdy and should last and look nice for years and years. Impressive quality. EDIT: 1 year and going strong. No signs of weakness. Still demonstrating high quality with only a few expected stains on the screen from use. Highly recommended. EDIT: Now over 6 years old. Used frequently. Still solid. No rust, no weak points. Some minor stains on the screen that show it's been used... I'm surprised more buyers aren't 5-star happy. EDIT: We used this heavily for well over 6 years and it showed no signs of weakness. However, I am mistaken about the "metal throughout" comment above. We have never had a problem when using this screen on the stovetop, even when it has gotten close to flames. However, I put it in the oven thinking it was all-metal, but there is a hard plastic in the handle that melted and expanded, pushing the handle apart. I'm so sad. It's not often you find a product that last 6 years or more these days. I'm going to see if I can repair it in my shop before I decide to buy another...

Very nice sturdy screens

The sizes are a little strange and are either too large or too small for my pans.

that's not what it was built for?

ibought 5 of these to share with my friends while we went diamond hunting at The Crater Of Diamonds State Park here in arkansas. we went and set up camp on friday evening and used these over the campfire to make grilled cheese sandwiches and slices of fried bologna, then on saturday morning we took them with us into the mining area of the park ... no diamonds over the weekend but lots of other small crystals and pocket change. at night we would wash them off and back to use cooking on the fire. everyone loved them and were stoked to get a useful souvenir from the trip. my son tells me that most folks put them over the top of the food to keep flies out while cooking. to each their own isuppose.

helps to screen out the oil

4 star for the following reason: 1) helps to prevent oil spill while cooking, but not 100%, 2) size says 10'', actually it's a little bit short of 10" so you will see a small gap between your cookware and this splatter screen, 3)flimsy connection of the splatter and handle, as already mentioned by many buyers here. Hopefully it won't break after frequent use. All in all, you got what you paid for.

Does the job. I'm not sure how long it will last though. The metal attaching the handle to the round part is very flimsy
