Works well on 36-spoke wheels, but not so well on 32-spoke wheels
The LED headlight isn't super powerful, but it's bright enough to see if there are potholes in your path. The main thing is that it's more than bright enough for motorists to see you, and that's what really matters. The tail light stays lit for many minutes after stopping, and is also plenty bright enough. You will probably need to manufacture a mounting bracket from angle brackets unless you happen to have a European-style rear rack on your bike. It takes quite a bit of adjusting to get the generator coil mounted on the rear frame close enough to the spoke magenets to get the magnets within the coil spinning reliably at a range of speeds without the spoke magnets striking the generator unit. The reason is that each spoke magnet unit is held with just a single screw, and so they tend to deflect a little toward the generator unit due to the magnetic attraction. With just three spoke magnet units, it seems that this model is designed for wheels with 36 spokes, and it doesn't really work very well on 32-spoke wheels, because 32 isn't evenly divisible by 3. I had trouble getting the spoke magnet units distributed around the wheel evenly in a configuration that wouldn't result in one of them wobbling and striking the generator unit. I lost patience and ended up spending a couple hours in the workshop making a clear plastic adapter ring that goes between the spokes and the magnets. Required an extra $10 or so for stainless steel screws, fender washers and nylon lock nuts. One final note: I do not recommend mounting the headlight on the fork crown as shown in the instructions, because if you ever let the steering get away from you when parking, etc., it will hit the down tube and break like mine did. I had to order a replacement headlight unit. Instead, use a small hose clamp to mount it to the underside of the handlebar stem, safely above the frame. In summary, if you're a tinkerer, or know one who owes you a big favor, this is a very good product.

Magnets!
I came across these lights when I was living in Germany. My Danish friend had the SL100s on her bike and I knew that when I came back to the US I had to have these lights. I bought SL100s for my road bike and have been very satisfied with them, so when I bought a utility bike I knew I wanted a dynamo style light. I decided to skip the bottle dynamo, because I remember the light not staying lit when I'd stop, plus the resistance. . . I checked Reelight out again and saw that they also had this model, the RL770. I bought this because I have a rack and the rear light fit perfectly on my Bontrager rack, though I did have remove my front rack so I could mount the front light. Had I tinkered with it like another reviewer mentioned, I probably could have mounted it elsewhere but I didn't feel like messing around. I will say that the materials on the front light, specifically the little silver colored mount for the front light, does seem pretty cheap. Oh well. Just try not to break your light I guess! Mounting the lights is pretty painless, it's the dynamo and the magnets that is a bit of a pain. The video Reelight has posted showing their installation is about 10 minutes long. It took my boyfriend and I about 45 minutes to an hour to install and wire. I have 36 spoke tires, so that wasn't the issue. The magnets just kept slipping out of place. I'd hear my boyfriend exclaim "%$*$*^ magnets!" The rear light is bright immediately. The front light flickers until you speed up. I will be using a back up light if I find myself out at night.

Love the concept, poor materials
Installed the reelight while watching the YouTube video on the iPad. This was very helpful as installation and positioning of the magnets was rather tricky. Once installed, the reelight worked as expected, giving off enough light for cars to see me coming in the dark, though it is not extremely bright. However, the headlight broke in the first week, due to the fact that someone knocked my bike over where I had it parked at work. The piece where the headlight connects to your bike is made of plastic, not metal and it broke very easily when my bike was knocked over. I was so disappointed, as the set was 100 dollars, and I had waited for a long time to purchase it. I was unable to repair the plastic itself as I tried gluing it with epoxy to no avail. I was able to rig up some sort of lame repair by inserting a metal piece into the headlight that I wrapped with tape to provide stability. It doesn't seem very strong. I should have returned.
