Noise after a few months

This pump started off good, but after a few months it has become more noisy. I have even placed a thick rubber pad under it, but it still is noisier than I like.

Still quiet

Had it for several months and unless someone puts something beside it it’s quiet as a mouse, well if mice were air pumps. And made of plastic and metal.

Great pump

This is a great pump so far. Its small but powerful. I have a 36 gal tank with an 4 inch round air stone, a bubbles tube and a oyster shell. This pump handles all that with power to spare. Fast shipping and price makes this a no brainer.

The media could not be loaded. I just set this up recently but so fR so good. For only $10, this 20-40 gallon pump works great in my 45 gallon tank. Purchase standard aquirum tubing, and this pump, and any airstone you want - i used an 8 inch long one and it works perfectly.

20-40 gallon is hands down the quietest!

I do some fish/shrimp breeding and own about 5 of these pumps in various sizes. After years of running them here’s what I’ve found. 10-30 gallon (2 stars) ended up sounding like a tattoo machine after an hour so I returned it. 20-40 gallon (5 stars) these are hands down my favorite. Super quiet. I’m sensitive to low humming noise in my house and you can barely tell they’re running. 30-60 gallon (3 stars) a workhorse but also a little on the loud side. About the same sound level as the 10-30 gallon. 10-30 gallon tested at 68dB at 1” away 20-40 gallon tested at 62dB at 1” away 30-60 gallon tested at 69dB at 1” away Interesting how the small pump puts out the same amount of sound as the larger one but it’s just how they are. If you’re on the fence about one because of the reviews about noise trust me, the 20-40 is the one to go with. I own two and they’re both pretty quiet. If you’re using in a dedicated fish room or breeding in a garage etc the 30-60 pump probably won’t bother you. But for anyone using the pump in their house or office etc I strongly suggest the 20-40. I thought maybe I just got a quiet one, but both of mine sound exactly the same. Even if you’re using it in a smaller tank, just get the 20-40 and dial it back with the adjustable valve it comes with. If you tried the 10-30 pump and didn’t like it because of the noise, try the 20-40 before convincing yourself they’re all loud. Hope this helps!

Lack of Information

The product was overheating and making a weird loud noise. Started to smoke and it smelled awful in less than 30 mins. Reason is Lack of information on the Voltages of the air pump. Due to my country providing me with 240V and the air pump being 115-120V is no use in my country…lucky i was home and had just set it up or the outcome would have been worse.

Most likely off-brand pumps being marketed as Whisper brand.

Worked OK, but the Whisper pumps I've purchased in store seem much more powerful and slightly quieter. Won't order again. UPDATE - These are definitely not Whisper brand pumps. I set up this pump side by side with an identical pump of exactly the same power rating (40gallon Whisper brand) and the comparison wasn't even close. The name brand pump will supply air to 5 sponge filters simultaneously. On a six way splitter it loses too much air by opening the sixth outlet, but supplies 5 no problem. The pump shown here that I purchased from Amazon will only handle 2 well, adding a third makes the air output too low for the sponge filters to function properly. DO NOT BUY. In addition, it randomly gets louder. I wake up in the morning and it sounds like I'm running a hand blender in the living room. The next day, it goes back to normal - normal being still louder than my other pumps. My other Whisper pumps (we have 5) are so quiet that I rarely (if ever) notice them. I have to practically be beside them to hear them running. Either this pump is an off brand pump being marketed as a Whisper pump, or the quality of the one I received is simply horrible. I absolutely wouldn't buy one from this seller ever again.

Excelente

Es una bomba excelente, buena potencia para las piedras aireadoras de 15 cm de largo. EL nivel de ruido es casi cero, si está en una superficie firme; de hecho, es prácticamente cero cuando la suspendes en la mano. Me encanta porque por la noche no produce ruido que genera ruidos que afecten conciliar el sueño o lo interrumpan aunque esta a unos 10 metros de mi cama.

Buen producto

Buena calidad, al principio no hace ruido, despues de un tiempolo hace,, pero no como las otras, este es mucho mas bajo, recomiendo este producto.

Muy recomendable

Super silenciosa, en realidad no hace nada de ruido y muy poca vibración. El flujo de aire es muy consistente. Mi acuario es de 140 lts.
