Inflated 4 person towable in 3 minutes!

This innflated my 4 person RAVE towable in less than 3 minutes. I love the compact size to store on the boat. Highly recommend.

MUCH better than I expected

I read the reviews for many 12v plug-in air pumps, and this one filtered to the top. Everyone said it inflated super fast, and I'd purchased a gigantic towable which I wanted to be able to inflate on the water without taking forever. Fast forward a few days after placing my order and a tiny box arrived at my house. I opened the package and I was absolutely SHOCKED at how small the pump was. I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. My gut reaction was "There's no way this is as good as the reviews said", but I stomped that flat and took it right out to the lake. Okay y'all, I unfolded my new Sportsstuff Grandstand (which is far, far larger than I expected), plugged in the teeny tiny air pump, and started blowing the thing up. Five minutes. FIVE MINUTES. I thought I was going to be there all day trying to air up a towable that was 1/3 the size of my boat. Nope. That little air pump got us going in no time. I've aired the towable up about five times since I got it and I'm looking forward to many more outings with it. If I had to mention any drawback at all is that the sound is very loud and high-pitched. I almost need earplugs, but fortunately it blows up the towable so fast that it's not so bad overall.

Amazing little pump

This pump arrived today, so I immediately tried it out on my Fish Cat 4 float tube with Boston valves. It inflated the tube in no time (I didn't time it, but it was really fast). The size and shape made it very easy to hold. It inflated so fast I wished that the on/off switch was a push button instead of a toggle switch. The soft attachment between the pump and the valve inlet fit perfectly. Airhead supplied fittings for both the inflate and deflate openings on the Boston valve. The pump has both inflate and deflate connection points. The result: it's just as fast to suck all the air out as it was to put it in. That makes it feasible to carry the tube fully deflated in the trunk of my sedan, because I can re-inflate it now so quickly. I don't have to take an SUV with a partially inflated tube anymore. The 10' cord is probably long enough for most uses. Fortunately I found a 12v DC power outlet in the trunk of my car. The Airhead instructions repeat many times that this pump should only be plugged into a power outlet, not a cigarette lighter. I don't understand the difference between the two, but to be safe, if I hadn't found that power outlet in the trunk, I would have bought a cable with clip leads on one end to attach directly to the battery and a cigarette lighter socket on the other end. I read elsewhere that current drain is in the 5-7 amp region. I'm really pleased with this little pump, and from now on will only be using the hand pump when I'm out on the water and need to add some aire.

Works

Needed a 12 volt pump to inflate our booster ball and poparazzi 3 inflateables on the boat. I’m glad to report that this unit was able to pump up everything quickly to get my family over the water. The deflator side worked nice also to get everything backed up.

Pocket rocket of air

Very easy to use and a great value for the money. 2.5 minutes from flat to the fullness shown in the pics. I also bought their hand pump to top off for higher pressure, but this will be nice for quickly inflating/deflating while on the water.

Handy on the bit for floaters!!

Easy to use! Very handy to inflate all the kids float toys. Great to use on inflatable beds as well. A must on the boat!!

A Great Pump!

A long overdue review! I have had this pump since August of 2014!! This thing just finished the first trip in its 6th consecutive year of use. I wish I could tell you how many hours are on this workhorse. We use it to inflate a large 3 seat inflatable, often times multiple times each day. It just keeps working. It inflates the toy quickly, especially for a tiny little dude. It has a nice long cord, three sizes of nozzles and a nice dry bag to store it in. I can’t say enough good things about this little pump. I originally hoped for 2 or 3 years of service. I don’t think it’s ever going to stop working, kind of like me... BUY IT!!

This pump is great or terrible depending on what you use it for. When I took it camping, it pumped up a double height queen size air mattress very quickly. But when I use it to inflate a small inflatable boat (Intex Explorer 200) even though the volume of air is less than my mattress, took over 10 minutes, and unit was too hot to hold. I can pump up the boat with my double action pump much faster. I think this unit is too underpowered to force air through the small tips at anywhere closed to the rated volume per minute, so the pump is just working hard for nothing and pumping out a trickle of air. Do not buy it if you intend to use it mainly for the small tip. I wouldn't trust it to pump up something to a high psi either, this isn't what it is designed for. Also it could use a longer cord, I had to pull my car right next to my tent to pump up air mattress inside.

Impressive

I was taken aback when I received this little thing; I thought it would be much bigger then the fist size "toy" in the little box. Much to my surprise, This little pump packs a heck of a punch. Inflates and deflates big inflatables in a flash. 12v power cord is quite long and is great for inflating tubes right on the boat while on the water instead of having to drag or tow huge toys all day. Very happy with this purchase.

Better to get brand-name

my 8 year old air-head stopped working so I decided to order the 'bird-brand' (which is code for knock-off) thinking it was half price why not. I can say without hesitation that air-heads are far superior and move way more volume of air then the black 'amazon' specials. In testing, it took 25 minutes to fill a towable tube where as the air-head blasts it off in under 5 mintues.

Great little electric airbed pump.

Ideal for quickly pumping up airbeds or inflatables. Not designed for vehicle tire inflation. Easy to use and good value for money. The only disadvantage is that the cable to the vehicle power connection could be a bit longer for air mattress inflation in situ.
