I ordered this to use for work & it’s great so far. I used it many times during an extra long work week. It was easy for me to figure out. And the auto turn off feature helps save battery.

What I needed

I was pointed to this specific meter by a friend of mine. For some reason, this meter is the only one that will reliably give an accurate reading on a ground or a neutral wire. I have 3 other amp meters, all by reputable manufacturers in the industry, and not cheapos either. None of them will read with the same accuracy of this unit. Upon getting it, I tried it against 2 of my other meters at my home, and then at a local factory that I do things for. On the hot wires, all read pretty much the same. On a neutral or ground, the other 2 I have would show 0 or a very low reading. This one would show a realistic and higher number. For example, on a 240 volt single phase 5 HP motor that was running at approximately 60% load, the hot sides read 16.7 amps on all of the meters. but the natural on 2 of them showed 1.2 and 2.4 respectively. This Kline meter showed 9.7 which matched what it should be.

Good meter, but it doesn't measure DC amps, only AC.

I wish I would have looked closer at the specs. The whole purpose of a meter with a clamp is to make current measurements easy. While it will still help if I need to measure AC current, it doesn't do me any good when working on DC car and motorcycle or solar equipment :(

Good quality build

This clamp meter arrived well packaged, the day after purchasing as promised. It is nicely presented in retail quality packaging making it ideal as a gift and giving you a good first impression of the product inside. The clamp meter itself has a great build quality, it is very well made from good quality materials and has a very robust, durable overall build. I work in the IT industry so a clamp meter is a handy piece of kit for me to have around but is not used daily and this is why I opted for one in this price range. This particular meter is nicely designed with all of the functions easily accessible on a central wheel which click positively into position for each selection. The meter is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably and firmly in your hand when in use. The screen has good sized digits and a backlight making it easy to read even in the darkest of network cabinets/cupboards. It also has a flashlight on the back which is a great addition that I have never had on a clamp meter in the past. The meter comes with a set of two test cables which are also well made and have a cover over both ends to protect both the probe and plug ends. The meter also has a flip out stand at the back enabling you to set it down on the surface and work without having to hold it, leaving both hands free. The meter takes batteries which are not included and it also has an auto off function which takes it into standby mode if it is idol for longer than 15 seconds, ideal for saving battery power. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the quality, design and usability of this clamp meter, I was very surprised by the quality and functioning for the price also.

Good tool. Useful. Accurate.

The media could not be loaded. Super easy to use for the experienced. With good instructions for the less experienced. This is a good piece of kit. Works the way any ordinary multimetre would. But also with the added feature of the clamp meter. The clamp negates the need to break into a circuit to check for voltage/current. You can simply put the clamp close to, or around your power source and it gives you the readings you require. As you can see by my demo. It's pretty simple to use. I have tried this on all sorts from bulbs, cables, AC and DC and it seems to work just fine. I tested the wands on a known complete circuit to test the continuity check which worked absolutely A ok. There is one last feature to talk about which is the hold button. Extremely useful feature. It allows you to keep your reading on the screen. Handy Andy. So. Does this get 5*? Yep it does. Well made AC clamp meter with fast display update interval

This is a good quality AC clamp meter that would be suitable for AC work on residential properties, and maybe even be of use on some commercial properties. I am a hobbyist but I do minor electrical work and repairs so can appreciate and understand an instrument like this. Pros: - Good solid build quality - should survive a few years - Display update interval is fast - K-type thermocouple supplied - Display backlight - Seems to be accurate when compared to a fluke meter - Storage case supplied Cons: - No diode test mode The meter arrived well packaged and includes everything you need to get started including the batteries and a storage case to keep everything together. It is very well built and does not feel cheap or flimsy. It is Cat III rated and supplied with the appropriate test leads that have the safety caps around the probe tips, which are removeable. Should be suitable for all domestic mains work and some commercial work. The leads are of good quality for a meter at this price range. Features are good for an AC clamp meter and it is easy to use. It is almost good enough to use as a general purpose meter for electrical repair on battery powered devices as well but the lack of a diode test mode means it will not fully suit. The temperature measurement probe came in handy when I was checking for draught around the floor in my home. The non contact voltage tester is useful as a quick "is this circuit dead" test when working on AC mains circuits (ALWAYS confirm using a second meter or a lamp set for safety reasons!). It seems fairly sensitive and can sense the AC field through a light switch plate or a wall socket front. I found all of the ranges to be accurate, and the fast display update rate is very welcome. Overall I am impressed with this meter and feel that it deserves 5 stars.

Excellent tool to add to the arsenal

For reference, I am an IT Technician and have been using this device to measure the current when doing cable runs and diagnosing problems along the way. I am probably using a fraction of what is possible with this device but needed a tool to give me an accurate reading. I am going to break it down into simple positives and negatives. ✔️ Accurately measures current and voltage – I verified this by plugging a few cables into a UPS and comparing the Amps and Volts via the readouts. ✔️ Carry case – It comes supplied with a carry case which is really handy when out and about on a job and it also helps me not lose the accessories. ✔️ Comes with a set of leads – Most of the time I usually carry around a Fluke voltmeter but since getting this I haven’t had to because this combines two tools in one. Very helpful. ✔️ Backlit display – The display is LED-backlit which is really helpful when I needed to check cables high up in the ceiling ❌ Auto shut off – My only negative and it’s more of a nit-pick is that the auto shut off is 15 minutes. I wish this could be configured to allow longer or shorter times. There were a couple of times when I could have really used it being longer. Overall, as I said before I am not pushing this product to its limits but for me, in a commercial environment its worked great and hasn’t let me down yet. It’s a tool that adds extra functionality over a voltmeter whilst only being a little bit bigger in size. So, for me, it’s a no brainer.
