Thin and light enough to hold two plates with two fingers.
Corelle makes excellent dinnerware. For our normal everyday plates, I will never buy anything else, though I do have several stoneware pieces I couldn't do without. For plates and bowls though, Corelle is the best. These are made of Vitrelle, their more durable glass. Like any Corelle, they're incredibly thin and lightweight. They're also stackable, and excellent for saving space in your cabinet. I routinely put Corelle into the oven when I'm making nachos and have never had a problem with it. It's fully dishwasher and microwave safe. They can handle a few drops easily, though I've had a few of them shatter over the years (usually in the hands of a child who thinks they're indestructible frisbees). When they do break, they tend to send little slivers of razor-sharp glass everywhere. Good luck finding them all! The good news though is that Corelle backs their dishes with a 3-year warranty, and I've never had an issue with a warranty claim. Send them a picture, they'll send you a new plate with no questions asked. The pattern on these is lovely and simple. The blue lines are slightly textured, and you can feel them when rubbing over them, but they shouldn't fade over time. I got both the dinner and salad plates, and they're exquisite together. I love how they look stacked. For those who are afraid of Corelle because of claims of lead, please note that Corelle hasn't put lead into their decorations since the early 2000s. All new Corelle is lead free, but just as durable as what your Grandma had in her kitchen. While I love the plates and think that they're worth the current price, at the time of this review they're actually priced less when purchased directly from Corelle. Depending on how much you're buying and if you get free shipping, it might be worth your while to skip on over there and take a peek.

Very thin, but pretty
These dinner plates are very nice and pretty to look at. They are advertised as lightweight, but I think I underestimated how very thin they are. I'll use them, but I expect to have to treat them as much more fragile than my current dinner dishes. Still it is nice to see that 80% of these were made from recycled glass. Just be sure you are expecting glass plates when you order these and not the standard ceramics.

It's supposedly the same old Corelle minus any lead.
Comes in a plain cardboard box with plates tightly packed as pairs separated by cardboard. Included is a long folded sheet of instructions tucked above the plates. Out of the box, the plates feel extremely powdery, though not much powder is evident. Corelle ships with a protective coating (perhaps that's what I felt) that needs to be removed by careful handwashing with hot water and detergent, or once through the dishwasher with nonabrasive cleanser. Corelle was hugely popular because of its high chip-/crack-/shatter-/stain-resistance, ease of cleaning, and light weight. People used to characterize Corelle as unbreakable. Plates and bowls are made in the USA from Vitrelle glass. Their current cups and saucers are stoneware or porcelain made in China. Corelle plates stack snugly together. A stack of all six plates was only 1.5" high. I have two old sets with what appears to be Vitrelle cups and saucers. The only pieces to ever break were the cups. That's with multiple drops on wood and concrete. However, like any glass, Vitrelle will scratch and abrade from scouring and metal utensils. Didn't drop-test the plates. But, they feel and function just like my old Corelle pieces. Excepting that, being new, they cleaned more easily and don't have visible scuffs.

Simple and modern design..
I have been using corelle plates since 8 years and (touch wood) but I didn’t break one of them until now (they are not easily breakable). There are also no chips on any of the plates until now. You might get very light scratches on them after very long period of time because of the continuous usage and washing of them. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. So because of all these wonderful qualities, I developed a trust in Corelle and I ordered these plates with the new design when they popped up in my recommendations. The blue striped design all over the edges of the plates is simple yet modernistic. And another thing I like about these corelle products is, their uniformity in the base color so that you can get creative and mix and match different plates/ bowls with different designs to make different plate settings every time. Love Corelle!!

These plates are lightweight and durable
These plates are lightweight and durable. The botanical stripes design adds a touch of elegance. They are indeed chip and scratch resistant and clean up well in the dishwasher.

Corelle is hard to beat!
In my personal opinion, there are no better dinner plates. These are durable, easy to clean, lightweight, and look great! These are the kinds of dishes you could easily be passing on to your grandchildren.

Amazing brand, beautiful plates!
Love love love this print. Our family is a huge fan of corelle. You can drop it all day and it doesn’t break. It take very little space in the cabinets. They are super light weight. You can grab 4 of them between your fingers in one swipe and put them away so quickly from the dishwasher, no concerns about them chipping with that light of a bump. Beautiful options. These arrived so quickly in the mail. Fun new print for our mismatched corelle set. If you haven’t tried this brand yet, I highly recommend them.

Strong and light weight.
Corelle has been around a long time and has been well tested by many users. It is very thin, so it is very light but it is also very strong. In use it is a bit "clangy", but I have not found it bothersome in use. My diameter of the piece I was sent is closer to 10 inches not 10.25.
