Six-inch Plates For Small Appetizers and Desserts

These small appetizer plates go with my Royal Doulton 1815 dinner and salad plates, although they make a colorful statement just by themselves. They seem to be a bit lighter (that is, slightly more pastel) than the rest of my pieces while still appearing to go with them. They measure 6" in diameter with a 4" flat inset area for food. I find that they are the perfect size for finger food appetizers and small desserts such as cookies or chocolates. The dishes are labeled as dishwasher- and microwave-safe, although I haven't placed mine in the microwave. I love that the plates are thinner than stoneware yet still feel sturdy enough to last for years. Even if you don't have other 1815 pieces, this little dishes make great accents against white dinnerware. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Great quality, handmade feel

Very cute plates! They are very nicely made and are about the size of a hand which is perfect for serving small things like bread or desserts! They do not break down in the dishwasher and the paint has stayed very beautiful after a year! The colors are very vibrant and the way that the color is dipped onto the plates gives a very handmade feel! My family and I love them!

Very pretty and functional for me

I am not disappointed with this purchase; if anything, the colors are not as vivid as the picture indicates, and they are a little over-priced but I can't fault the seller or manufacturer for this as I knew what I was getting and what I was paying. What I like is the size: they come in handy for everything from soap dishes to microwaving small portions of things, or even a trinket holder. They make good dishes for sauces and condiments as well. I have not even discovered all their uses but in my household, some type of small, microwaveable dishes are a must-have and these are quite lovely and functional.

Beautiful set

This set is very beautiful, the plates are well-made just as you would expect from Royal Doulton, and the price point is reasonable AND there are 8 plates! To give you an idea of the size, the corners of a piece of bread hang over the edges of the plate. I still would use it when by myself to hold a sandwich but it's really meant to hold an appetizer portion/tapas. These will be well used in my house.

Very pretty & useful

These little plates are the perfect size for when you want just a little something. They would be great for appetizers but we use them mostly for a single piece of toast, apple wedges, a cookie, etc. We use them everyday. Plus they are very pretty, colors are as pictured, just slightly less vibrant. The quality is great, smooth and not at all fragile. Even the grandchildren can use them. Our dishes are white and these are a fun accent.

These are cute! I'm trying to limit the amount of paper, plastic products We use. These little plates are perfect for snacks, desserts, go with any decor and I like that there are 8 of them plenty for guests. Stylish little plates, love em!

Best Plates Ever!

These were nicer then I thought they would be. I used them to place my tea bags when I take them out of the cup. They are very high quality and the colors are very pretty. Knowing that Hyacinth Bucket loved them is an added bonus!

Wonderful quality, poor colour.

These are lovely, well crafted pieces. My only complaint is that the colours are more muted that the pictures would lead you to believe.

Quality & Beauty

Everything came in a single piece. This is the most awesome set i’ve seen and in the best quality. Dishes are larger than common sets. Very stylish. The colour on the picture is very accurate!

Look at the size closely.

Lovely products although I should have paid more attention to the size. Think more saucer than plate. Still I kept then because they are beautiful but not as ‘bright’ as the product suggests. More of a pastel in most cases. I have included a photo with a 30 cm ruler as a comparison.
