So far, it works, and the cat isn't thrilled with it. :)
Our female cat has earned the nickname "Hoover" as she is known to vacuum up almost any food she can get to. Potato chips, spicy corn chips, even pickle slices- if she can get to it, she will eat it, or try to eat it. Any time we give her more than a tiny handful of kibble, she will invariably devour it so fast that it comes right back up. Our much slower eating boy cat had been very tolerant of her Hoovering up his food as well as her own, so we started feeding them in different rooms so he would get more than a small portion of food before she inhaled it all. As she can't be given more than a teaspoon's amount of food at a time (any more, and you will find yourself stepping in a pile of it on the carpet a few minutes later) we decided to look for a bowl that could slow down her eating. This bowl had decent reviews and was not expensive, so we gave it a try. It appears to be well-made, and not too difficult to clean- the channels in it are big enough to get a brush into. At first, "Hoover" was not pleased with this new food receptacle. At ALL. She could smell and see all those tasty nuggets that she usually made disappear within thirty seconds, but she couldn't get at them easily any longer. I could see she was frustrated, so I put down a few pieces of kibble right next to the new bowl. She gulped down this small bit of food, then looked at me, wanting more. I then tapped the bowl and "showed" her the kibble sitting in the channels of the bowl. At first, she walked away from this strange thing. Maybe her "real" bowl would re-appear, and she wouldn't have to deal with this kibble puzzle dish. She came back and checked out the new bowl again, and managed to get a few pieces of kibble out of it. I noticed she was shoving the bowl around with her paw on the cushion-y "placemat" we have under the cats' food and water. She got a few more pieces of kibble. She never flipped the bowl over entirely, which is what I was waiting for (and dreading.) The placemat we have keeps the bowl from moving around very much, so I can't attest to the bowl's "suction" (?) effectiveness. I just checked out the underside of the bowl, and don't see any suction cups or anything, but we keep their bowls on the cushy placemat anyway, so it's not going anywhere. She returned to the strange object that was holding her food hostage again and again, and each time managed to get out a few more pieces of kibble. I just checked the bowl, and there are about a dozen or so pieces of kibble sitting in it, which is amazing to see, as she is so strongly food-motivated. The bowl just arrived this afternoon, so I can't attest to its effectiveness in the long-term, but it seems to be a success so far. It has broken the feeding time cycle of giving her a tiny bit of kibble, her begging for more food, giving a tiny bit more kibble, then begging again, etc. I'll report back after a week or so. Hopefully, this new bowl will continue to keep our Hoover-cat on a lower setting. Edit: it's been about four days of her using the new bowl. As we saw that she had been leaving about half of the kibble in the bowl after eating (unheard of with a regular bowl) we increased the minimal amount of kibble we gave her to her entire morning portion. A day or so ago, if we checked the bowl after she appeared to finish eating, and there would be about seven to ten nuggets of kibble left. When she begged later, we just tapped the bowl. She got the message: if she wanted more kibble she would have to extract it from the bowl. ---- We noticed yesterday after giving her the evening's kibble allotment that the new bowl with its challenging channels was completely empty. She has figured out how to get all of the kibble out of her new bowl. After we fed her this morning, sure enough, she got all of the kibble out of it. But the bowl is still a success, as it has really slowed down her eating. In a way, she is now eating like a normal cat- and not like a fur-covered Dirt Devil. Very happy with our purchase, and if you have a Hoover kitty of your own, we highly recommend this bowl. :)

Highest quality but not so good for my cat
The bowl is obviously created for a very strict diet:)) Those partitions are so deep and narrow even for my cat’s small mouth, she could take out pieces of food with her pawn only:)) maybe that was the idea of slow feeding but for us it is too much)

Cat didn’t like
Product seemed fine but my car wouldn’t eat out of it … he couldn’t figure out how to get the pieces out so he would end up flipping it over somehow to get the pieces - defeating the purpose

Helped my cat so much!
This product was exactly what I needed. My cat kept throwing up from eating too much too fast. Ever since I started using this bowl, she seldom throws up anymore. And they don't flip over! Perfect purchase.

Meh- too deep for my kitties
The product itself is very durable and made well. Unfortunately it is too deep for my cats and they will not take the treats out of the bottom of it. I ended up giving it to my doggy nephew and he uses it just fine.

Great for cats that inhale their food!
I recently purchased the Petstages Kitty Slow Feeder Cat Bowl for my cat and I'm really happy with it. My cat tends to eat her food too quickly, which can lead to digestive issues, so I was looking for a solution to help slow him down. The design of the bowl is really smart. It has a series of ridges and valleys that create a maze for the food, forcing the cat to eat slower and take more time between bites. This has definitely helped my cat eat at a more reasonable pace, which has in turn reduced the likelihood of vomiting or other digestive issues. The bowl itself is also well made. It's made from a sturdy, non-toxic plastic material that's easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The green color is also really cute. Overall, I would highly recommend the Petstages Kitty Slow Feeder Cat Bowl to any cat owner who has a cat that eats too quickly. It's an affordable and effective solution that can help promote healthy eating habits and reduce the likelihood of digestive issues.

Works great!
Works great to slow feed. No suction cups, and not so easy to clean. I clean mine with a old tooth brush and it works. I do love this for my stray cat who over eats.

*Too* difficult for my cat
I just adopted a two year old cat who practically inhales her dry food and will then immediately go to my older cat's food bowl and wait until she can eat his food. I was hoping for a way to slow down her eating which is why I bought this bowl. Unfortunately, because I only give her 1/4 cup of dry food at a time and it all settles down into almost a single layer, she has too much difficulty getting any of the food out of this bowl. I've watched her try to figure it out and dig out pieces, but she simply gives up and will just wait for the older cat to finish some of his food so she can have some. Problem definitely not solved. I think if the ridges were lower or more spaced apart, it would help some kitties dig their food out a little easier while still slowing them down. The bowl is fairly easy to clean - I just stick it in the top rack of my dishwasher - but it would also be great if this was made out of ceramic or stainless steel so it doesn't get too gross.

My gluttonous cat hates it, but it’s a great bowl
My cat is super fat and was overeating to the point of puking. She even refused to play with the laser pointer because she was too tired!! This cat used to play for over an hour and now she’s panting!? Bruh…things need to change. So I got her this bowl as a big middle finger to her chonky butt. She couldn’t even get onto her cat tree without falling a couple times. She saw her old bowls in the storage closet and started meowing and pawing at them. You can tell she’s begging for those big, deep bowls so she can shover her entire little face back into her food like the good old days, but no. No. She has to work for her food now. You can’t just inhale the kibble anymore, Amber! You have to take your time to chew and swallow!

It's hard
The media could not be loaded. You'd think that it was silicone so the cat can get the food eventually but watching my cat try and force her face into it just made me feel sorry for her. There's no way her head can fit through these holes. Its way too rigid. It certainly slowed down her eating because she just can't now. I've attached a video of her fighting with it because it was too adorable. Dw she was fed immediately afterwards

bought for our two small fast eating cats...
bought for our 12 month old cats, to "try" to slow them down eating.. Well they both were not to keen on the new bowls, and the male figured out to lift the bowl, drop it and the food would all fall out !, he then tried to hide the bowl !. the female soon picked up on this, a managed to flick thr bowl up to empty the contents. Both bowls now have teeth marks on them. we are not sure, but wonder as we are using dry food, which is small pellets, the cats struggle ?. Will keep them and try with older cat food & see what happens

Helps to slow eating!
Cat was not impressed with this at first - "why should I do more work when I know you can give my my food on a flat plate?" After a few hours his hunger won, and he gave in. It doesn't stay in one place on the floor -so the cat pushes it around the whole kitchen. but that is okay for us. He doesn't overturn it at least!

Does what it says on the tin
Really does slow down my cats eating, although with biscuits he has figured that he can pick the bowl up and drop it and then, hey presto, all the biscuits come out! I don't know if that's just my weird cat ???? but would be good if it had some suckers on the bottom for my laminate floor just to give it some more stability. Apart from that, good buy.
