Sturdy enough for everyday, but also nice

This set is a hard-working kind of nice. It doesn't appear delicate or fragile. This particular design comes off a little masculine to me. It's a great set for when you want something nice for every day use, but not something super fancy. I like that the salad plate is a little bigger than the average one. The bowl is just a basic round shape, with the same design on the outside. There's no fancy shape. It's just a basic bowl, with a nicer look and feel to it than the average old bowl. I can say the same for the mug, though it is taller than a basic, chunky coffee mug. Overall, if you want something sturdy enough for everyday use, but at the same time have something that looks nice, this is a good choice.

The pieces have a good weight to them

I grew up with Lenox placesettings as a mainstay during the holidays and formal dinners (we recently added on with the classic Autumn place settings) and the China Jewels nativity, so was eager to try the Entertain 365 Sculpture rectangular place setting. My observations: The pieces have a good weight to them, and the design brings to mind the Villeroy and Boch "squiggle" plates. However, I felt the basketweave embossing was not deep enough (a couple of millimeters more and it would have much more visual impact). The color didn't bother me so much as other reviewers (who described it as a "dirty white" or grey), and overall the pieces look great on the table (although as others have mentioned, the salad plate is quite small and perhaps best suited to appetizers or finger foods; the trim takes up a good deal of the edge of the plate, leaving the usable space fairly small). But my overall impression was that the set looks more like cheap "starter" china that you might buy at Target for your first college apartment (been there, done that) and doesn't seem to merit the high price tag, especially as it is manufactured in China.

Great Everyday Set- The Rectangular Plates In Particular Are So Visually Interesting And Can Double As Serving Pieces

The Lenox Entertain 365 Sculpture Rectangular 4-piece place setting includes a dinner plate, salad plate, bowl and mug that have a woven pattern. It's a high quality, white porcelain place setting that's a solid weight and free of any blemishes, bumps or discolorations. I really like that Entertain 365 place settings and individual pieces can be mixed and matched together (though I wrongly assumed the mug and bowl would be the same size and shape as a set I own called Entertain 365 Sculpture Confetti). I thought I'd love the mug and bowl in person, but wasn't sure if the rectangular plates might look odd to me. As it turns out, the plates are what make this pattern standout as they're so unique and stylish. Also, the plates can also be used as attractive and functional serving platters. I like the mug and bowl fine, though the woven pattern covers the entire outer surface and makes those pieces look chunky and a bit busy for my taste. But overall, I really like this rectangular place setting and think it creates a visually interesting table setting. It can be fancied up with nicer linens, but is also a practical set for everyday use given that it's dishwasher and microwave safe. Porcelain is strong, and these dishes look and feel like they should hold up well. Recommended. Update 8/30/2016: I've been using this set daily and enjoy it so much. The mug and bowl have totally grown on me, and I always loved the rectangular plates. I'm upgrading my rating from 4 to 5 stars as I'm 100% satisfied.

Nice Basic Set

This review is for the 4-piece place setting, round. This set is very nice. It is made of white porcelain with sort of a basket weave design on it. It is very casual; I personally wouldn't use it in a formal setting, but it looks good for every day use. One thing I take issue with it is the way it is packaged. While the plates and bowl are secure, the mug is loose in the top, with only a cardboard flap to half-heartedly restrain it. It can still move around, as evidenced by the first set of these dishes arriving with the cup smashed to bits. The second set arrived (via a different carrier) with everything intact, but still. Not very well-thought-out packaging.
