Beautiful but...

How can dishes be adorable, classy and beautiful at the same time? but they are. The Vibrant Teal color against the gray background, coupled with the adorable bird is so Lovely & Unique! I was immediately impressed. However, I wound up purchasing the matching smaller fruit-bowls from the Mikasa website directly, they were not offered on Amazon. They cost almost double the other bigger pieces and but were of a much lesser quality. The birds on the fruit bowls are a Blurry Mess compared to the defined depiction in the rest of the collection (see pics). I contacted their CS and asking for more, hoping I just got a bad batch...After they gave me the run around requesting more pics and several emails, they refused, stating it was 'normal due to reactive glaze technique ' That is nonsense, or else all of the pieces would be blurry and vastly different. Unfortunately, "ll be sending the fruit bowls back. These dishes are extremely Heavy! You have to position them backwards and alternate forward in the dishwasher or else they topple over and hit each other. Im not sure how they will hold up, as I have only had them a few weeks. I also Love the soup bowls! As they are Deep and hold a lot of food. Unlike other collections that have small shallow bowls. I actually chose these for the deep bowls first and foremost. They are well made and I would recommend them all except for the fruit bowls...

Exceeds expectations

Beautiful dinnerware all around. So sturdy and yes a little heavier but that is to be expected for good, strong dinnerware. I absolutely love them!!

Beautiful set

I love the 3 sets I bought - 2 in July and one more in Dec. 2021. They were all packed well and arrived with no cracks. They are beautiful, sturdy, and of good quality. I have been washing them in my dishwasher on the lower rack and they still look like new. The green is more of a teal and the bottoms are dark brown to me. I posted photos to accurately represent the colors.

Beautiful,but very heavy.

I love these dishes, in fact I've got 2 sets now. They are very, very heavy though and the would be perfect except for that.

Owned 7 months, GREAT SET!

We have had the set for 7 months now. I bought two sets to have enough for 8 settings. We use them everyday for almost every meal. They are primarily put in the dishwasher for cleaning and have held up very well. They are also surviving in a household of older elementary-aged children. No chips. Microwave well. Children help put dishes away and have had whoopsie moments of hitting the dishes on the cabinet while putting dishes away, but they are super durable. Over all, excellent and durable. I would highly recommend this set. Bowls are a good size for cereal, soup, salad, etc. They are not too shallow. Small dishes work well for our children or as a salad dish. Big plates are a good size as well. Mugs are great for coffee and microwave water well for tea, etc.

Beautiful dishes

I love these dishes. At first I thought I eouldnt like the bowls as they are pretty big but love them. You aren't spilling your soup all over you as they have a large rim around the.. the bowls dont fit well into the dishwasher though. There are also some small imperfections around the edge of some of the dishes but not enough that I wanted to send them back. Love the cups although I usually do not want dark insides on my cups. They are easy to hold with my arthritis.

Beautiful and sturdy.

I purchased the 16-piece place setting for 4. It arrived packed sturdily and in excellent condition. I love that the salad plate and mug are slightly different from the dinner plate and bowl. The shape of the mug and the fact that the bowl had a wide lip were the primary reasons for choosing this set, with the beautiful design being a close second. Pieces are heavy and sturdy, so I did not check the "Light weight" choice in the review features.
