Factory Seconds

I bought two sets of Mikasa Intaglio Arabella in the 1990s and used them daily. Through the years, pieces broke and chipped, but I still liked the pattern. I bought two more sets from Amazon, and was disappointed that they were not the same. The peach dots are just plain brown. If you are not trying to match an original set from prior years, this may not matter to you, but it matters to me. For the price I paid, I did not want factory seconds. I am thankful that Amazon has a good return policy.

Gorgeous and Durable Dinnerware!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mikasa Arabella dinnerware. It was the everyday pattern I selected 20 years ago when I got married. The marriage did not last but this dinnerware has! LOL I get so many compliments on the gorgeous pattern. And it is very sturdy for everyday use. I am just now having to replace some pieces due to years of wear and tear, which is what this set represented. But most of my original pieces STILL look great! I also wanted the cereal bowls, which I did not have (I had the large rim soup bowls). I completed the cereal bowl set with another Amazon purchase which arrived today! BTW - one of the bowls was broken when the set arrived. I immediately contacted Amazon about a replacement bowl, which they do not do for sets unless you return the ENTIRE set. But they gave me a $20 credit on my account which allowed me to replace the broken bowl AND get my four additional ones to complete my set at about only $7 per bowl. This is incredible as the individual pieces for this pattern are not cheap! Plus - The whole transaction of informing Amazon about the damaged item to getting my five new bowls on same day delivery took exactly a day and a half! This transaction alone is worth my Prime membership! Thanks Amazon for another great purchase! LOVE LOVE LOVE my dinnerware, and Amazon Prime!

Great plates, terrible packaging

These dishes are great. I bought a set of them years ago from a retailer and they've served me well. I decided to purchase some more online, but unfortunately when they were delivered, one of the large plates and three of the smaller plates were smashed. The mugs, bowls, 3 large plates, and 1 small plate are OK. Since 12 of 16 pieces are good, I don't think it's worth it to send back for a replacement or refund. I would give 5 stars for the plates themselves, but since 4 pieces arrived shattered, I have to knock off 2 stars.

This is an older pattern and I am very happy with the dinnerware and the way I received it. The packaging exceeded all my expectations.

Items arrived early, in excellent condition and although there were 7 boxes, all arrived at the same time WITH NO BROKEN ITEMS. WELL DONE!

Busted in the middle of the box

Last box I unpacked (we bought 3 sets). I checked the tops of all of them and it looked okay, but this was nestled in the middle of a otherwise UNSCATHED box. I just didn’t need all 12 sets till now. :( I would like the seller to refund or send another set.
