Best kitchen trash can I've ever had. Ditch the lid, you don't really need one!

This is without a doubt the best kitchen trash can I have ever purchased. Re-evaluate the need for a closing step type or auto lid. They consume so much of your time and increase your workload waiting to toss something, having to be front and center to step on the lever, or waiting on auto lids to function. Also, the gross mess lids collect, there is not a good one out there. They all get so gunky and gross and you are constantly cleaning! I love the simplicity of this open top for tossing in veggie waste from the cutting board, and the ease of tossing k-cups, just anything kitchen-wise. We have NEVER noticed any odors from our trash using this can, frankly just like you we take it out routinely as soon as it's to the top. The only time we might notice anything is if a baby's diaper gets tossed without being double bagged. You truly do not need the lid! This can has not dented at all and we've had the expensive Simply Human cans, the auto-open touchless ones, and the Sams trash cans and they all have dented really easily. I've even had them come in from an online order here on Amazon and they were dented straight out of the box from shipping. I now have two of these and they were shipped and not a single dent they are pristine. Very sturdy and the top holds the trash bags without slippage. I highly highly recommend using Glad trash bags. They just seem better cut for most kitchen containers we've noticed. Hefty bags seem to cheat on the length.

Over priced

This is a very basic trash can, it looks nice enough but I think it is overpriced for what it is. It’s decent but not anything special as far as being sturdy. It scratch very easily, within an hour of being in use. We have kids so i expected as much but it happened very easily and for the cost it’s just not enough. Disappointing purchase in that sense. We’ll see how the deodorizer works, which I really don’t care about anyhow. $50 should be the high end for a can of this quality.

Nice upgrade from my old plastic trash can

I specifically looked for open top. Don’t really like the hassles of opening the lid. This trash can is simple yet elegant. Sturdy too. Our whole family like it. I recommend it.

Functional Simplicity

We didn't want a mechanical lid, they are too slow and we are too messy. A big open lid is ideal. This replaces a plastic kitchen can and is a big improvement. The stainless design matches our kitchen. The plastic bottom won't scratch our floors. We are already using bags with baking soda, so I'm not sure yet if we'll activate one or both of the charcoal bags in the lid. Smell hasn't been an issue in the past. It fits all our requirements with no unnecessary bells or whistles. Updated 2mo later- the lid is plastic and something we put in, maybe a juice or something hot discolored a section of rim. I would expect more durability. Also, the two baskets that hold the charcoal inside the lid can be dislodged outward and fall into the trash when compacting (pushing down) a full can. We lost one and they are $10 to replace. Family re-educated to be more careful, but a better design for each could alleviate these issues.

Simple, neat, easy to use!

Simplicity as it should be. No more "waiting" on an auto open top, no batteries, no stepping on a peddle that slides the trash can against the wall, no more drips to clean off the top... The 13 gallon is roomer than expected and holds a tone of garbage. Very happy.

LOVE this open air can

The size and shape fit great along the side of my cabinet. It's easy to change any regular tall kitchen bag with and the top holds that bag in place from slipping. It has 2 deodorizer bags in the lid for the smell, and I believe you can buy more or even cheaper, just buy some aquarium charcoal and make your own if need be. I was contemplating a motion kind with a lid or this, and to be honest, unless you really destroy the lid, there is nothing to break down over the years, so I suspect will last me forever if taken are of. since it is open, if you are cooking you can just toss whatever in there and not have to wait for a lid to open and close. I really love it!

Top quality product and worth the money.

This garbage can is rigid and solidly built and I would highly recommend it. I have yet to see how long the deodorizers last, however the addition of two in the can tucked neatly inside works well at eliminating odors. They also are easily accessible for changing out. I would recommend this garbage can if you want a solid well built unit that will last a long long time. It should be noted though that this can's construction requires the use of garbage bags with the can being composed of a dual construction of metal with a plastic bottom.
