Love the slow close lid
I was looking for a trash can for the bathroom with a closeable lid. This one fits the bill. It has a foot pedal to open and the lid closes slowly. It's clean and shiny and looks professional. The only drawback is that the trash can liner is hard to stay in place and not bunch up when you put the interior plastic bin back in the trash can.

It was delivered and no dents anywhere. Perfect!!! It’s the highest quality. I searched a long time and it was worth it. Amazon products are excellent! I’m excited every time I see how it fits into my kitchen and so attractive.

Love it! Pedal beats motion detector
Okay, after (3) cans with motion detectors (all break 1-2 yeas), we went to the Amazon retro Pedal opener. Loving it. The top has delayed shut (time for discard of garbage). Looks great, with much room. Doesn't open with the motion of someone walking by. Back to the basics (silly me.... why would I seek I high tech motion detector for a basic trash can). This is great build, great function and a delight.

All you need
Looks good, works well, good price. It’s a winner. You have to spend double or more to get a trendier design and finish, but wouldn’t outperform this one.

It's fine
It's a good trash can in general but, the when you put a bag in the plastic liner and put it in the can itself, the bag doesn't really stay on.

Functional and attractive without screaming for attention

The Amazon Basics Trash Can is Not So Basic - Easy to operate and Easy to Remove Bag When Full
What can I say about a trash can? Well, anything that makes life chores a little easier are a win. This Amazon Basics Trash Can is not so basic, but one of those things that makes life easier for a chore I personally don't like, but someone has to do it. The operation of the lid is easy and the liner allows easy removal of a full trash bag. All in all it works great for the nasty job of dealing with trash. Well worth a full 5 stars.

Nice and streamlined
I really like this can goes flat against my wall, is the perfect size for me, and doesn't open with a bang against the wall. A nice surprice was that it's a soft close and doesn't slam down. My only critcism is that I wished it opened a tad wider (more upright), but that may be me being picky. It uses small/roommate size garbage bags.

Just the right size!
Excellent quality!! Stainless steel so thankfully it won’t rust!! We have it in our wet room so that’s a must!! Very easy to clean and looks very stylish. Most bathroom bins seem to be 3 lites which is way too small. This one looks quite small but has a good capacity.

Excellent quality, great item
Well made, looks great, good size, good price,lovely opening action, slow close and easy to hide liner. Finger print proof is impossible to achieve100% but does ok and easy to clean. Great product for the price. A Brabantia bin would cost 2-3 times as much. Delighted with it. Looks and feels high end.

I never knew that buying a kitchen bin was such a minefield! I knew what size I wanted and researched many products from numerous sellers. After reading reviews on this particular item, I was drawn to it, not just because of the price (which was certainly cheaper than others) but because of the reviews. I would agree with the majority of the reviews - the bin does not look cheap (so do not be put off by the amazon basics 'tag'), the shape actually seems to be a space saver versus a normal circular bin, and my view is that it does look good quality and not cheap at all. The lid opens via a foot pedal, and has a slow closing lid, all of which operates well. A bonus point to me versus my old bin is that the inner compartment is plastic so can be easily washed and cleaned (my old bin inner compartment was stainless steel which has corroded over time). I am pleased with this purchase and glad I did not spend £20-£40 more on a branded name.
